  1. The ad for the Samsung Galaxy S2 is hilarious... http://youtu.be/d0pgO3uffvk
  2. Wow....great to hear. You have to have a sense of accomplishment after getting it running again...
  3. Maybe the Buick compact CUV? Or too early for that.. New Dodge compact?
  4. What ads? I don't see them.
  5. Saw a brown Caprice PPV in traffic Friday..first one I've seen.
  6. I think it's more that GM needs to spread the investment in the Volt hardware across multiple models... Spending more money to make a car that will sell maybe 500 cars a month and possibly steals sales from the Volt is going to be more profitable? Maybe it will be, but I have doubts. Yes, but reusing the existing Volt hardware is the cheapest approach and the least risk..not the best solution, but the pragmatic one considering it's GM and the current economic climate..
  7. Welcome to C&G. And Welcome back, DF...haven't seen you around in ages.
  8. Battery life has been an on-and-off frustration w/ my Droid...normally I can go a full day on normal use, but my last gig where I was 3 stories underground the constant searching for a 3G signal was draining by noon....would have to take my charger w/ me so I'd have enough battery to read C&G, Twitter and Facebook in the bathroom in the afternoon.. I've had the Droid 18 months, so I figure sometime in the next 6 months or so I'll see what Verizon has that's interesting for my next.

  10. Had some highs and lows the last 6 weeks....my contract in Scottsdale ended at the end of October after 7 months..spent 2 weeks looking for a new gig--had a few interviews and offers, a couple seemed really dull..took the most interesting-- joined a small consulting firm in Tempe (neat location in a loft downtown right at the edge of the ASU campus). Had to put my 14 yr old Westie terrier boy down last week day after Thanksgiving...his health had been deteriorating for a long time and couldn't stand seeing him suffer. Lost my debit card yesterday. Went to the bank today, have to wait 5-7 days for a new one, couldn't get a temporary one as my account is considered out of state. And the power driver's seat on the Jeep is acting flaky this morning...at least I have it in a good position now. My TV starting acting flaky last week..couldn't figure out if it was the remote or the tv..replaced the batteries in the remote. Ordered another remote off eBay. Did some googling, turned out it's a known issue w/ this model, so I rebooted the tv and now it's working fine. But I was very tempted by some Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals on 70 inch LED HDTVs (have a 55 inch LCD HDTV, as well as 32 and 24 inch ones in the house).
  11. With the demise of so many newspapers I wonder what the future holds for journalists, esp. the serious ones and not celebrity gossip ones...
  12. The Volt platform could be used to develop a new small FWD pickup for Chevy, an El Voltamino!
  13. Ramblers....my Grandpa on my father's side was a Ramblin' Rambler man.....had a brown '66 Classic up until around '75...vaguely remember as a little kid him and Grandma visiting, down 3-4 quarts of oil w/ the engine knocking...replaced it with a brown '76 Matador sedan, that was his last car IIRC.
  14. Looking good...like that green...would like to see a Challenger or Charger in that color..
  15. Motorola Droid. Been happy w/ it....thinking about the Droid Razr or Droid 3 for my next one...though I might go to the dark side (iPhone 4s). Depends on what catches my eye in 6 months...
  16. Would be nice, but Cadillac is limited to what GM has available..i.e. the FWD Volt platform and drivetrain. And the reality is FWD appliances like the Prius/Leaf/Volt is where the market is (i.e. non car enthusiast consumers who want something green and high tech but don't care about the 'car' aspects such as driving experience) ...
  17. I thought that also..esp. the tail panel..the rear window area reminded me of a more rounded Reatta. i remember seeing a couple of them years ago in a parking garage in Sacramento..tiny and slick in person.
  18. It's more of a Cadillac Volt. The ATS would be the Cadillac Cruze if they cancel Alpha and move the ATS to Delta II.
  19. This is sort of Cadillac's HS equivalent..it's to the Volt what the HS was to the Prius....hopefully it will fare better than the HS did at Lexus.
  20. Sounds like it's sharing it's platform and drivetrain w/ the Volt, which was expected.
  21. Ok..not light. Chalk it up to German solidity..
  22. 3864lbs is light for a CUV. Neat design, lots of interesting details inside and out..better looking than the bland Tiguan.
  23. Interesting...almost has a Ford-like face...based on the specs, it seems like it could be a lot of fun. Subaru will probably do a higher powered version eventually (WRX Sti engine, maybe?)
  24. 3 would probably be a handful.
