The XTS is not for Europe..it's for the traditional older buyers that the DTS was sold to..it gives Cadillac a competitor for the MKS and ES. Nothing competitive w/ the big league European models. That's all.

LoL... I've driven a Malibu in Malibu before.. Why were you in The Bu? It's so far from civilization, and there's very little to do...and that drive!! Was there a few years ago when I was in Santa Monica for a long weekend..took a drive up the coast. And the car was from Alamo. Last trip to the Southland I had a Taurus. Not sure what I'll have next month when I go over for the Long Beach Grand Prix.

I can imagine it being able to lock if the power is removed while it is engaged, but not having a parking brake that will engage without a power source would seem to me to run afoul of some state laws. And how would it be disengaged if power is not present? A parking brake should be a purely mechanical device, functional whether the engine is running or not. Making it electronic seems pointless..are other automakers doing such nonsense also? What's wrong w/ a foot- or hand- operated parking/emergency brake? Those have worked well for decades...

So I assume the rearward visibility is worse than the coupe (w/ the top up). How's the trunk space w/ the top down? How's the noise w/ the top up?

It would be interesting to see a drag Caddy, esp. if they could build one that looks close to the street CTS. I've seen pics of the 'Pro Stock' G6--it was a deformed, bloated turd that bore little resemblance to a stock G6. I esp. hate the giant hood scoops in PS today.

I don't know if Ohio does inspections now, but the rust on the Shadow looks mild compared to the cars my crazy brother drove around in Ohio in the '80s. Cars w/ the entire trunk floor gone, rocker panels gone, rusty floor pans... one '70s LTD was so rusty the radiator fell out and later the rear axle came loose (the frame was rusted out).

There is a lot of delusional people that modify their cars out there, I guess...years ago in Ohio I used to see a Chrysler 300M with a '69/70 Mustang Mach 1 hoodscoop glued to the hood, complete w/ 351 badges on it.

Saw a silver '11 Camaro convertible, top down, rolling down the street. Saw about 2 dozen convertibles in traffic, tops down on my 20 min walk at lunch..beautiful spring weather.

Saw a blue Nissan Leaf this morning, first I'd seen out on the street...and a black SSR. I was at the airport last night, first time I'd been there in a month or so..noticed at least one taxi fleet seems to be moving from Crown Vics to HHRs en masse...saw at least a couple dozen yellow HHRs taxis. Lots of Prius taxis as well.

I'm not sure what an electric parking brake is, but I assume they would use a hand brake because it's cheap.

I wish GM would take notice also..I'd like to see both Ford and GM get back into the large RWD game...I'd love to see Charger and 300 competitors from Ford and GM.

Saw a '53 (I think) Studebaker ht coupe (dark red w/ white top) on the top of a car hauler today, looked very clean..

Wow..haven't seen rust in a long time...time to break out the primer, bondo, and duct tape.

GMC should do a Canyon Denali and a Savana Denali also. A Topkick Denali would have been great had they still made it.

Saw an '11 Charger in traffic at lunch, first I've seen..very sharp..dark gray. Also saw a white Mini Countryman, first of those I've seen..

The '84-95 E-class coupe has those also, they work well... not the same kind of automatic belt as the crap in the late '80s Escorts, Mazdas, etc.. I missed out on the automatic belt craze..went from cars w/ normal 3 point belts to cars w/ airbags back in the day..

Cool..haven't seen one yet. My sister had an '11 rental last week in Portland, liked it a lot (she had about 1/2 dozen '10 rentals last year in Chicago).
