  1. I'd get the Boxster over the Cayman, just because in a car like that, I'd want a convertible. I actually fit pretty well in the Boxster.
  2. Crossfire is an interesting car, what with the Chrysler-MB hybrid nature, and the eclectic styling..kind of a love it or hate it thing...I really like the profile of the coupe...long nose, short, curved rear.
  3. Looking forward to driving w/o AC, and occasionally driving w/ the windows down. Hopefully today is the last triple digit day. Going to get a routine oil change and tire rotation Friday, may need the belt and hoses replaced also. Going to have the coolant and transmission fluid checked per the factory schedule. Need rear brakes soon.
  4. +1 I still miss mine..it was a lot of fun while I had it..I unloaded it as it was getting to point where it was going to start being pricey to maintain and I didn't want it sitting outside or sitting too much period. Wouldn't mind having another M3 someday, probably an E46--last of the 6 cylinder M3s. Rob
  5. Modern materials would...look at the '10 Mustang interior--retro touches but w/ modern features (Sync, etc) and very nice materials overall... I've sat in both, and the Camaro interior feels cheap, materials-wise. Too many hard plastics and cheap feeling switchgear...would be ok in an Aveo or Cobalt but not in a $35k car, IMHO. The biggest problem I found w/ the Camaro is the outward visibility...felt like being in a gray bunker trying to peer out. Still want to drive one, though. I love the exterior of the car...the fantastic proportions, the surface detailing of the sides and the upper surfaces...only thing I might have done differently would be a taller windshield and side windows... Rob
  6. I think I would have preferred a thicker C-pillar rather than have the funky quarter window. Looking forward to seeing it in person, though, I think this is a car that will look better in person than in pics. I like the front end quite a bit, but I'd rather see the sedan grille w/ the standup hood ornament...just looks like it's missing something w/o the standup star, IMHO.
  7. Probably the Cruze, Regal and production CTS coupe, maybe the next Aveo/Viva. Probably too early for the ATS--what MY is it due--'12? Maybe the Acacia Denali and a Terrain Denali (seems inevitable)... Perhaps a concept of the Buick Astra-based compact and the small Buick CUV (not the Vue rebadge that was cancelled)? Probably some of these at NAIAS, Chicago or NY instead...
  8. I like the ad...I think my favorite Cadillac ad in recent years is still the one that showed various models from different decades w/ the song featuring Iggy Pop...cool visuals and song.
  9. Lots and lots of factoids here. Production officially ended August '08. Several displacements besides 3.8 for the 90 degree family. Was surprised to see it was offered in the '75-76 LeSabre...it must have looked tiny in the huge engine compartments of a B-body of that era.
  10. The laws are the laws... if this is a more efficient means of enforcing them, then all the better.
  11. It's been a long time since I've pulled an all nighter...did some in college and grad school, incl. one insane marathon ~40 hr stretch w/o sleep working w/ a couple other grad students on finishing a big project. I did ~50 hours w/o sleep when working at a startup in 2000, whole team worked all weekend getting ready for a big demo w/ a big potential client. After about age 35, I find it hard staying up past midnight anymore...
  12. GPS could be used for precrime detection also, if you drive into a neighborhood known for crack dealers or prostitution, for example..
  13. Hmmm...interesting factoids. Didn't know Spirits had front bench seats available (3 up front, it says). I wouldn't recommend putting gasoline into the battery..something bad could happen.
  14. But it's registered in a state and driven on public roads..so therefore... kind of a gray area.
  15. It's an xA thing. You wouldn't understand, I don't understand. I don't see those very often compared to the xB and tC. Scion seems to have it's own little cult following.
  16. The Flex almost reminds me of a modernized early '50s car..it has the thickness of midsection, fairly flat glass and more vertical windshield, hood height, etc that reminds me of something from then updated..
  17. One interesting light of this type I saw pics of somewhere was on a '60s or '70s show car (not sure if it was a Ford, don't recall the details)...the light was sequential and lighted up in the shape of a giant right or left arrow (taillight housing looked normal when not signalling).
  18. Yes, remember Mista Chuck can make time stand still.
  19. Amazing story...wondering how the car crashed backwards into the building...must have skidded.
  20. I'd love to have a modern incarnation of the Eagle...the existing ones are just too old for me to deal with.
  21. I'm really light and noise sensitive about sleep...part of being a light sleeper, I'm afraid. I have to have a dark room that is quiet or with the ceiling fan on (a constant noise). I like a firm but soft mattress...since I got a king size pillow top, I find I sleep better..
  22. I try and get to sleep at about 10-10:30 Sun-Thur nights, up at 5:15-5:30 Mon-Fri. Friday and Sat nights stay up till 11-12 or so, sleep in until 7-7:30. Ambien is my friend. On the weekends, I often take a 1-2 hr afternoon nap. I treasure that. I usually don't use an alarm clock except Monday mornings..the dogs wake me before 5:30 usually. I've been prone to insomnia in the past, still get it once in a while. When I was younger and in college and grad school, I was a total night owl..but over the last 12+ years, I've become a morning person...
  23. The wierd bulging lights...the Acura shields...it's like 'if we can't make it beautiful, let's make it wierd!'..
  24. So bland lately....and Acura so wierd. And no sports cars!!!
  25. I'm fond of that era of Honda/Acura also because of the McLaren Hondas in F1...I was a huge Ayrton Senna fan...the mid '80s to mid '90s is my favorite era of F1.
