  1. Well, the Wal-Mart shoppers want low prices everyday! Hyundai and Kia give them that. Rob
  2. Saw yet another '10 Camaro this morning, a black one on the freeway. In the last week, they really have started popping up everywhere. Rob
  3. That could be cool. One phantom idea I've had for years that I want to build in 1:25th would be an Olds F82....i.e. what if Oldsmobile had a '67-69 F-body? How would a Camaro/Firebird look restyled with Olds styling cues--maybe the '67-68 funky headlight treatment, or '69 split grille and vertical taillights? Rob
  4. When I first read this post, I read it as "..a Camaro with that sloping rear pillar and backlight". Got to thinking...I wonder how a '67-69 Camaro or '68-72 Nova 2dr would look with a '65-69 Corvair 2dr roof...it was similar to the bubbletop. Insane? Rob
  5. Here are some pics of a '56...only 1300 built apparently. Other than the front end, the metal all looks to be Chevy. 56 Pontiac sedan delivery Rob
  6. That's a beautiful Impala...love the color and Pro Touring build style. Rob
  7. Interesting factoid--there was a production '55 (and maybe a '56) Pontiac sedan delivery....in Canada. I've seen pics of one before in Collectible Automobile. Interesting car. Rob
  8. Today at work, I parked between an orange Honda Fit with a huge 35 MPG! decal in the rear window and a bright green Hyundai Accent. Was fun to park the nearly 5000lb 25 yr old panzer beast between them. It gets 15 mpg, maybe. Rob
  9. This thread reminds me of something odd I saw this afternoon...driving along at about 70 (65 mph limit), light traffic, in the middle lane, when a silver Genesis blows past me on the right, at least 85-90. On my far left in the HOV lane was a gray Prius, going just as fast, passed me at the same time. The Prius then darts over 2 lanes to run parallel to the Genesis...the ran together for a mile or more, speeding until they braked hard for the speed camera truck that was coming up. Wierd. Rob
  10. Some possible phantoms that would look interesting would be a '59-60 2dr ht with a flattop roof (i.e. like a 4dr ht). Or a '61 2dr ht with the 2dr sedan flattop roof. Or a '59-60 2dr ht wagon (Mercury had one, GM didn't). Rob
  11. Would make an interesting phantom, though. Likewise for an El Camino version. Rob
  12. Never heard of that..thought all Chevy II wagons were 4drs. Got a pic of one?
  13. Nope..would be a phantom. GM didn't have any 2dr wagons in the '60s except for the '64-65 Chevelles, I think. Rob
  14. I think if I were going to have a mild custom GM from the early '60s, I'd want a '61 bubbletop...my favorites probably being the Olds w/ it's skegs or a Pontiac. Keep the body work stock but custom wheels/tires, etc. I love this '61 88 I saw in Santa Monica a few years ago..
  15. A sedan delivery phantom based off one of the '61-63 GM compacts could be interesting (Tempest wagon, F85, Skylark) Rob
  16. Hmmm....'Hyundia' = Hyundai + Kia?
  17. I think it would be aimed more at Acura,Volvo, Lincoln or Buick models....i.e. FWD/AWD. It less common and more distinctive than equivalent Acura models.
  18. Here's a Falcon sedan delivery, pretty rare from what I've read...never seen one in person.
  19. A Pontiac El Camino could be interesting, though. Been done before, tho.. El Catalina Rob
  20. As far as a phantom, a '59 Chevy coupe with El Camino doors and roof could be interesting, w a lengthened decklid or shortened wheelbase. Something like that would be fun to build in 1:25th scale. Rob
  21. Chevy's last was '59 or '60. Ford's was '59. There was a Falcon sedan delivery from '60-65. Don't know when the last Mopie one was or from the independents. Rambler had one based on the Rambler 2dr wagon at some point, seen a pic of one from the late '50s. Rob
  22. Hmmm...how about a Studebaker Lark, Rambler American, or one of those hideous '60-62 Valiants? That would be offbeat. Rob
  23. For something offbeat, how about a ground up restoration of an '80s Aries, Tempo, or Cimmaron? Or other '80s non-classic. Rob
  24. Saw two more '10 Camaros in the afternoon commute---a bright red LT and a silver SS, within a mile of each other.
  25. Very cool..great detail on that Pocher kit. I built an F40 kit probably 15 years ago, but it's a 1/24th scale Tamiya. I have yet to build a Pocher--they have insane amounts of detail and are very tedious to build. I have built a variety of kits, mostly 1:25th and 1:24th from AMT, Revell, Monogram, Jo-han, Aoshima, Fujimi, Hasegawa, Tamiya, Italeri, etc. Rob
