That line runs the entire length of the car... I don't think it is a door seam.

A Better Look At The Hyundai Venue: Comments
Hyundai released some sketches of their upcoming Venue due to debut at the New York International Auto Show next week. The Hyundai Venue will be the smallest and least expensive crossover in the Hyundai lineup. From the images, we can see what appears to be a 3 door crossover with a deep-set grille similar in shape and texture to the Hyundai Santa Fe. Deep creases run along the sides to pod like tail lamps. The interior looks handsome and minimalist with a simple 3 dial HVAC control setup, a touchscreen center display and the same row of buttons found on other Hyundai vehicles. It would be interesting if Hyundai does take the route of a 3 door crossover, it might make it a bit of a Hyundai Veloster with a lift kit. If so, it would certainly be a welcome departure from the standard 4-door crossovers that everyone and their grandmother is producing today. The Hyundai Venue will officially debut on April 17th at 10:45am eastern. Stay tuned for this and other coverage of the New York International Auto Show. (Click images to enlarge) View full article

Again, I get that. The premise of my original post was that the change would hurt sales of big ticket items like cars and appliances..... that's what appears to be happening.

Peugeot Interested in Jaguar-Land Rover; Tata says "Not Interested"
I think Ford could be the next likely target. Very little overlap. Whether Ford bites is another question entirely.

While that may be true, it doesn't change the psychological fact that a big check in April helped move consumer spending along in a way that an extra $50 per pay doesn't do.

That doesn't tell the whole story. The deductions all got mangled and now you can't deduction things you could before.. Sure the standard deduction is higher, but for many people that doesn't counteract the loss of their other deductions... especially in high-cost-of-living states. You're not a homeowner yet are you? This Boeing debacle reminds me a lot of the Series of Unfortunate Events that was the GM Ignition Switch fiasco. Nothing purposely engineered wrong, but an unforeseen series of events occurred that caused crashes.- Karma News: 2020 Karma Revero Gets Updated Battery And Regenerator
That's some faulty logic there. They are attempting to be an all electric company eventually, so why put money into developing and building a gas motor when there are plenty out there that can be bought. The BMW choice give an air of premiumness to it... but they would have been suited equally well with something from Honda Motor Company. The market hasn't demanded EVs? Telsa is 1/3rd of the entire luxury sedan market at this point.- Dirty Air Filters WILL NOT reduce fuel economy.
What about ... I dunno what else to call them... pumping losses? There must be some additional effort by the engine to create enough vacuum to pull through a dirty filter than it is to pull through a clean one? And wouldn't it be more dramatically noticed in a turbo-charged engine when the same amount of exhaust charge is not bringing in as much atmosphere as it did before? I dunno about you, but it is harder to suck air through a wet rag than it is a dry one... it's that effort that I'm talking about.- Industry News: Trump Threatens Mexico with Auto Tariffs
Hey now...- Peugeot Interested in Jaguar-Land Rover; Tata says "Not Interested"
PSA Group is starting to sound a bit desperate for a merger these days. First they bought GM's Opel Unit for $1.54b, later demanding a roughly 50% refund due to issues stemming from extra rosy sales forecasts and emissions regulations trouble. PSA has quickly turned around the Opel unit into a profit center instead of the loss-maker it was under GM control. More recently, Peugeot was seen to be dancing with FCA only to be rebuffed when it came to light that any merger between the two companies would come in the form of PSA stock. Now PSA Group CEO Carlos Tavares says that he would be interested in a merger with Jaguar Land Rover, saying he would be interested in having a more premium brand above their current DS line. Jaguar Land Rover is struggling with sales declines, but parent company Tata has said "There is no truth to the rumor that Tata Motors is looking to divest its stake in JLR". So it is back to the dance floor for PSA without a partner. Lets see who they come up with next. View full article- 6 replies
