I was mostly referring to tech features. I agree with you on the materials, but every Regal I've had seems to be built really well.

Yeah, they aren't doing well sales wise, but it isn't because they aren't a good car. You can get everything an A4 has but the badge for $10k - $12k less.

Cadillac News: Under Consideration: Higher-Performance Cadillac V-Series Models, Diesel Four and Six-Cylinders, Other Powertrains
Cadillac is getting the Voltec powertrain in the CT6. JDN has also said that it will be going in the CTS, ATS, and SRX follow-ups. IN fact the said that the entire line-up would be getting electrification. It is the way of the future, as much as Diesel preponderates love that stinky mess.. and the added torque, which does very little in terms of actual performance gains.. Its no way on Earth I'd buy a diesel luxury car over an electrical one. The deal is sweeter when one considers that the torque portion of the Diesel stronghold is moot.. when an, for example, CT6 Plug-in has 335HP /432lbs of torque. Bluetec doesn't match that and nor does BMW's diesel inline 6 I like the hint of a diesel-electric hybrid though... best of both worlds.

There are a lot of people out there who can't justify a Wrangler or can afford a Grand Cherokee, yet really want a Jeep. Not exactly rocket science for Jeep to offer something to those people.

You're in the DC area right? You could probably get away with FWD + Snow Tires for the winter unless you have a driveway like mine.

Phones
See, the way I use my phone (that is, mostly NOT as a phone) you'd think that I would go to a phablet like the Note... but I travel so much I'm afraid I would find it too bulky. My S4 seems to be big enough.. and yet... Oh, and the Lollipop update popped up on my phone last night... but so far is failing to install for me. I may have to unroot the phone first.

April 2015: General Motors Co.
I wonder how much of that Equinox growth is due to the Captiva being out of production now and 'Noxes ending up in rental fleets. When I left O'Hare airport yesterday and passed the Alamo lot as I dropped off my car, every. single. Midsize-SUV. was a Black Equinox. Every single one. Still, even if all the increase is from fleet selling, the 'Nox maintaining its sales at the very tail end of the current model is still pretty good.

I wonder how much of that is people waiting on the sidelines for the new one. It goes into production later this year, so I can imagine if you are a huge camaro fan waiting another few months to make a purchase. It's probably just time on the market and public awareness. I still don't see too many of them out and about, but as more and more people see them, there will be an awareness of those models.

Phones
I have a Galaxy S4 and as of today, I'm 30 days away from being able to upgrade it. The trouble? There are no phones out there that appeal to me enough to get me to spring the $200 to upgrade. My S4 does everything I ask of it and the new OS should be out shortly. The Nexus 6 and Galaxy S6, the only two options I see for me, haven't done enough to convince me I need to change. Albert is on an iPhone 5 and he's the same with the fruit products. The only thing that interests me in wireless right now is Google Fi and mostly because I could roam anywhere in the EU, Canada, AU, or Mexico with my phone and not pay roaming charges. That would necessitate a change of phones and might be my eventual reason for switching out my S4.

Sales: Sales Figure Ticker: April 2015
Thank you for putting these together and posting them this month! I don't always post in the threads but I very much enjoying looking through them. I appreciate you taking the time to do it! We will be going back and catching up on the March numbers as well, we just won't be making a front page story of it. We missed the March numbers because the releases came out on the exact same days as the NY Auto Show.

Cadillac News: 2016 Cadillac CTS-V To Start At $84,990, Taking Orders Now
Not to stir the pot in yet another Cadillac thread (this is getting old), but have you seen this? Or looked up depreciation through a cost-to-own site such as KBB's? Or perused Cars.com or Autotrader listings for that matter? I think you'll see interesting things that may be slightly out of sync with what you want to see. Just saying... ANYHOW, that pricing seems appropriate given the previous model's pricing and the lower rung models' pricing, new vs. old. Perfecto. As we've all been told multiple times, the S-Class is the standard of the world. Even in your article, a Mercedes S-Class loses 32.4% of its value in the first year... or roughly $32,400. Six months of depreciation is $16,200, so seeing as that was just a snarky guess on my part, it still seems to be pretty accurate. In absolute dollar terms, after 2 years of Benz ownership, you will have basically bought a CTS V-Sport with your depreciation. Using the percentages in that article An E63 will be worth about $68,750, a loss of $32,950. A CTS-V will be worth about $53,629, a loss of $31,361 After figuring for the opportunity costs and interest expense of spending an extra $16k on the Benz, the Cadillac is a much better deal.... and it will be at least an equally capable vehicle. Percentages are fun to look at, but in the end, it comes down to actual dollars and sense.
