    If it doesn't make any noise... lots of cars keep the electrical power or lights on after you shut the car off, so you might not realize it is still on if you are distracted after you park. Pardon my ignorance as I have only been in a VOLT once to discover for me as everyone who knows me am just way to tall to fit in the car. So does the VOLT not have a FOB that you have to have on you to be able to start the car? I would think once you left it would no longer be able to run once out of range. Seems to be a QA testing issue that was missed. I thought all auto's would not run once their fob was out of range. Interesting bug. If the car is already on when the FOB leaves the vehicle, the vehicle will still continue to run... just like every other keyless start vehicles out there. Keep in mind that the driver can park the car under battery power, if they forgot to shut the car off, eventually the battery drains and the gasoline engine kicks on automatically.

    I don't think the Avenir was on Omega fwiw. It is more of a styling study using a zeta car as a base. I asked the question specifically during the Buick event in Detroit and got the "existing platform combination" answer.

    I think they are laying the groundwork for more of a crawler here than a Raptor competitor. The Raptor is built for blasting through the desert at 60mph... but you really wouldn't do that in a Wrangler, a Wrangler doesn't have that kind of stability. At the same time, you wouldn't go rock crawling in a Raptor. The wheelbase is too long and you'll get high centered pretty quickly. The Canyon though... on the short wheelbase versions, would split the ability of the Raptor and the Wrangler right down the middle. 90% of Raptor's capability at speed and 90% of the Wrangler's capability over the rocks could make for a very interesting middle road.

    The trouble in the CT6 is in the definition. I do not think nor expect it will be a S-class competitor in size and capacity. I think it will be more of a CLS, which isn't a bad thing, just a different expectation. I'm also suspicious because what we saw in the Cadillac CT6 commercial doesn't look large enough to be the same car that we've seen in spy shots. They may be related, but the spy shot cars seem to be larger.

    In a memo released to dealers yesterday, General Motors announced that beginning with 2016 model year vehicles, the powertrain warranty will be shortened from 100,000 miles to 60,000 miles on Chevrolet and GMC models, while still remaining in effect for 5 years. Buick's existing 6 year / 70,000 mile powertrain warranty remains in effect. General Motors began offering 5 year / 100,000 mile powertrain warranties in 2007 at a time when public confidence in the company was low. There is no mention of Cadillac in the memo, so it looks like they will keep the 5 year / 100,000 powertrain warranty they currently offer. Also being scaled back is the amount of included maintenance. Current Chevy, Buick, and GMC vehicles come with 4 scheduled maintenance visits included in the first 2 years of ownership. That will be cut back to 2 scheduled maintenance visits beginning for model year 2016. GM says this move brings the warranties for these brands more in line with their direct competition.     I know the answer to the tape cassette deck is the Lexus SC430 though I don't know the last year that it had it.
