  1. Unlike Gloria Gaynor, Toyota is still making money, no amount of delusion will change that.
  2. For the record, I spend most of my time in the car stuck in traffic, texting at 5mph isn't that dangerous. I have veered onto the rumble strips on the highway whilst texting a couple of times, nobody around, no harm, no foul. I dont text or talk on the phone with the kid in the car unless I'm at a red light.
  3. I saw someone have a really bad day. The cop was standing on the sidewalk with a radar gun, tagged the guy then stood in the middle of the street and waved the guy into a parking lot. Sucks to be him.
  4. I text and drive more often than I talk and drive. Is it safe? Nope, but I do it anyways, haven't been in a wreck because of it.
  5. Wilmington also exports roadsters, so thats a few more sales to make a case for the plant.
  6. Electrics peak torque occurs at 0rpm, after that I'm not sure what the curve looks like. We should go dyno a bunch of forklifts.
  7. The Wrangler is a great Wrangler, even a great Jeep, but I'm not sure its a great vehicle.
  8. Bumped to re-suggest that videos be posted in a single thread. Its really annoying when I go to the new posts and there are half a dozen threads for Chevy videos between 1964 and 1973 that nobody will reply to when they could all be put into one thread that nobody will reply to.
  9. The "black boxes" in new cars continuously re-write their information, I believe they only keep info for 5-10 seconds (its been a few years since I've read this) so unless you wreck while speeding the only way the dealer would be able to use that against you is if you did a burnout in the parking lot and flew through the service bay at 50mph then shut the car down. Or at least thats what I was told a few years ago. Also heard that some dealers wont honor a warranty if they find rubber on the inside of a cars wheel wells because thats a sign the car has been raced and racing voids the warranty. As for 'blu's concerns, I dont think that they can use it against you in a warranty claim unless they inform you that they can, which would be in the really small print on page 461 of the OnStar manual. Some car rental agencies do charge customers for abusive driving/excessive speeding by using GPS, but they have to state on the rental agreement that they are watching the car.
  10. I got an email back from Bob Lutz, similar to Oldsmoboi's so not really worth posting, its just good to know that my feelings about a diesel Astra have been heard.
  11. Alaskan Firedragon
  12. You should be able to drop a 318 or 360 in without a problem. A Cummins or a Viper V10 would be far more interesting and more difficult.
  13. I'm in the process of emailing Bob Lutz about a diesel Astra that I would love to own. Also going to suggest the Twin Top and Zafira find there ways over here.
  14. GeeDubs is more addicted to going on the offense, which was fine for Afghanistan, questionable for Iraq, and so far unecessary for Iran, although I'm sure he'll find a way in the next two years. I will admit that North Korea, while it hasn't been handled in the greatest fashion, hasn't been bungled completely, a rare victory for our Commander in(ept) Chief.
  15. I didn't get to respond to FOG in the last one Anyways, how is it that I resigned and am a fallen admin while you resign and have the freedom, blah blah blah? I wanted out because of Josh' tyrannical assholism, you wanted out so you could slurp Josh at his other site. There is a fine line between being a free-thinker and a tool....no, wait, no there isn't.
  16. Silver VW Eos--first one I've seen in person, and I loved it. After that I swung by the VW dealership to see if I could get a closer look at one (they didn't have any in stock) and I saw a bright orange GTI with a sticker price of $28k. Later on I saw a red Eos at a high-end used car place.
  17. Car-Solara (I'd love another one) Sporty car-Mini Cooper or VW Eos (saw one today and fell in love) SUV-NOS' mom
  18. I've got an inflatable pool, just not the same.
  19. In a factory downtown
  20. Why did I laugh at that? Hehehe...tehgmhorse.com
  21. I'm trying to fit something like that into the budget, but doing so would mean forgoing the pool that I really really really want to get.
  22. Wow, a thread started by FOG that denegrates to an argument between rational thought and irrational veiled racism, what a shock.
  23. About 4.5 more years of car loans (in the unlikely even I keep the Fusion) and since I've only made 3 payments on my mortgage, a lot longer than that to go on the house.
  24. Actually the Linbergh baby was my bad. I left him in the car while I tied Amelia Earhart up and ravaged her in just the way she liked. Ended up being a bad night for both of them.
  25. Evok, quit messing with the man's delusional alternate reality. All of that stuff is because of the media. Black helicopters, grassy knolls, the truth is out there, you just have to be able to see it.
