  1. The Aura was shown long before it was on lots and its doing ok. I do think they released the Camaro way too early since its not going to be on the roads for a long-ass time, but I think the Flex will be fine, though I do wish they'd get it out sooner.
  2. I wish the unemployment rate was actually the number of people who qualify for gainful employment but are not gainfully employed instead of the percentage of people who are receiving unemployment benefits.
  3. I like it and I dont know why.
  4. I like 'em all.
  5. When I make my April payment I'll be like $1k down. The stick brings its value down by $675 (according to NADA) and the automatic would have been an $815 option, so much for the theory that sticks kill resale value.
  6. Yes, its Alanis Morissette performing My Humps. And its acoustic. The song still sucks, but its slightly less intolerable without the Black Eyed Peas.
  7. Work pay bills try to get rid of the Fusion one way or another bike find the money to get a swimming pool then find the time to use it Try to figure out why its easier to get into law school than it is to get into a good journalism program

    Sad News

I canceled Pontiac and revived Olds (NOS did a wonderful chop of a Suzuki Forenza for that one) a couple of years ago, before that I introduced a few new Saturn models while killing off a few others and reintroduced the Camaro for 2006. Gotta love April Fool's Day....except some of mine actually had people for a little while.

    Real Quick

I asked #1 a while back, it was the Subaru Justy, although apparently the Mitsubishi Mad Max was on the market after that, it wasn't a car per se. Edit: Mighty Max, Mad Max, either way Mitsu sucks.
  10. According to the Wikipedia article, Jeep sold more than 10,000 CRD Libertys in the first year. Dont know about the second year or if they separated the sales on the charts like Honda does with hybrids.
  11. $7k on a what will usually be a work vehicle (and a tax writeoff) is different from $1000 on an economy car, although I agree that they really need to bring the diesels over. I'm wondering if the issue is more time related than money related.
  12. I hate that most of all because they also tend to run straight pipes and drive up and down the street all the time. Assholes.
  13. Thats pretty cool, visiting Rome (well, Italy and the rest of Europe in general) is something I would love to do, seems like you're having a great time. I will admit that I was kinda hoping that you would say that you saw the Pope in the waiting room at Jiffy Lube or in the produce section at Wal-Mart or maybe seated at a corner table at the Olive Garden.
  14. Small displacement doesn't exactly mean small in physical size, a 2.4 liter V8 will still be larger than than an I4 (especially in the girth category) and wont do anything for the hp/torque numbers that a supercharger wouldn't do.
  15. The Sebring is the same way. Estupido.
  16. I know you wont be able to get good booze, the maximum alcohol content in beer is 4% in Utah.
  17. I believe there was a list. My ex had a TDI Jetta that she wanted to trade in on a diesel Liberty, dont know if she ever did or not, but I believe they sold them all. I'm sure the Astra's diesel is cleaner, but if they cant get it past the ever changing diesel legislation, it wont happen. Hopefully the technology and fuels will be there in the near future.
  18. The Liberty diesel was also canned after a year or two because of government regulations. I've seen one for sale on a used lot and they wanted quite a bit of scratch for it. There is a market for diesels, if only the feds would either stay outr or quit changing things every other year.
  19. I always had an odd fascination with the C70, I really liked it in droptop form. I wouldn't mind having any of those cars, oddly the Lexus would be my last choice, partly because of the stupid grille the one in the test had (earlier ones didn't have that atrocity) and partly because I really really like the other 4.
  20. There was a Suzuki concept back in the 90's called the C2, it had a 1.6L turbocharged V8: no joke, thats how big the engine is The car itself was pretty stupid looking too.
  21. I kinda happened across this old issue of C&D while I was cleaning some stuff. There are some real gems in here. The cover car is the Plymouth Pronto Spyder, which wasn't a bad looking concept car, kind of the Solstice concept before there was a Solstice concept, a lot of the part for the concept were plucked from existing Chryslers, mainly the Neon. The Upfront page is all about the 1999 Oldsmobile Alero, which they didn't give driving impressions on, later in the issue they test the 1999 Pontiac Grand Am and didn't bitch about the styling or interior. Other tests include the 1999 Mercury Cougar, the Dodge Ram 1500 SS/T which they called "The last of the performance trucks. There was a comparo of 5 $40k coupes, the finishing order: 5th-Cadillac Eldorado Touring Coupe 4th-Lincoln Mark VIII LSC 3rd-Volvo C70 2nd-Mercedes-Benz CLK320 1st-Lexus SC300 And now for the "Holy hell, that actually happened?" moment, the minivan comparison finishing order: 4th-Ford Windstar LX 3rd-Toyota Sienna XLE 2nd-Dodge Grand Caravan ES 1st-Pontiac Trans Sport Montana
  22. I see a Galant Ralliart or perhaps a nicely restored Diamante in your future.
  23. In America diesels hold their value as well, TDI VWs seem to be pricier used than their gas counterparts, that is assuming you can find someone willing to give up a TDI. I had some email correspondence with Bob Lutz about this very subject a few weeks ago, basically he said that GM tried and couldn't do it forthe Astra's release but they're working on it.
  24. I cant decide if I like it or not until I see pics of you humping it.
