  1. My car is still a hell of a lot less ghetto than a 20 year old Datsun. The Fusion isn't a bad car by any means, it just isn't the Solara (which was awesome) and isn't a Mini or a Wrangler. And the rear-biased vehicle had plenty of problems getting up the hill himself, it was, after all, a nearly impassible sheet of ice with no snow on top to get traction on. I made it about halfway up the hill before the momentum I had gained from one of the clear spots was negated by the fact that my tires were spinning. If my car had been RWD I probably wouldn't have made it that far because while the front wheels would have been over the dryish spot at the bottom of the hill, the rear (powered) wheels would have been over a huge sheet of ice.
  2. It took them too long to get it right. I doubt the sales will jump enough for the SRX to get a reprieve, which is unfortunate because its an awesome vehicle.
  3. Only when the topic itself has no direction.I've never been a fan of fender skirts, so this has one strike against it. 22 way seat? Thats um...a lot of adjustments. And I totally want a heated windshield.
  4. The lawsuit will do about as much damage to Honda's sales as this book did, in other words, none.
  5. Couldn't Nissan use the same line since they came out with the wide-open rear doors first?
  6. Anytime I run by a car lot or look through the classifieds, I see another car that would have run about the same $ as the Fusion that I would have liked so much better but that option for whatever reason when I was buying.
  7. Trying to open board attachments with Firefox doesn't work, gotta use IE.Anyways, not a fan of the brochure, it seems really nitpicky. They mention the lack of a "traditional" extended cab, Toyota (like Dodge before them) offers the same thing but with back doors that can open independant of the fronts. Seems a hell of a lot more convenient (for people at least) than the traditional way. They also dont mention payload or braking, two things that are pretty important to truck owner (ok, the 9% of them who use them as trucks) possibly more important than which has the prettier seat bottom. Plus, this in no way makes up for the lack of advertising compared to Toyota. There are Tundra commercials on ESPN (high # of male viewers) at what seems like every commercial break. Toyota is the official truck of Bass Pro Shops (the local "all-American" company that I hate, btw) so trucks and ads are going to be around their stores where people go (often in trucks) to buy hunting/fishing/camping supplies and, occasionally, boats. GM should be advertising like that (I dont know, does Cabela's have an official truck?) to reach out to a core audience.
  8. Nah, more an issue with a steep incline and a bunch of ice. The guy in the Tundra had a problem getting traction as well. There were a couple of patches of pavement, the last one near enough the crest of the hill that he was able to push me up and over. That was a fun night. And 'blu, I'll just live wit the scratches, I dont like the car enough to put money into fixing something that small.
  9. Barbie doesn't like it when I pay her for a Hummer, she says it makes her feel like a whore.
  10. Just gave it a quick handjob. I used everybody's least favorite item, the Mr. Clean Autodry thingy (I just used it for the filtered water) and didn't bother waxing it this time. Below is a grave, horrible image, the result of the ice storm and me having to be pushed up a hill by a Tundra. Its the rear bumper towards the driver's side.
  11. So my car, which is normally red, is some sort of brown color now. It needs a bath. Currently it is 58 degrees outside, but the wind is blowing up to 40mph. I dont see any reason this wont be fun.

    Equinox...

The electric power steerign may actually make the situation Balthy laid out regarding the tight turn a little easeier. When I test drove the Malibu Maxx, I found it easy to make low-speed maneuvers through the tight dealer lot. It did seem a little strange on regular roads, but I got used to it over the course of the test drive and didn't even notice it when I test drove a Malibu sedan a couple of weeks later.
  14. Friday afternoon I stumbled across an '03 Mini Cooper (ok, so I was actually out looking for Minis so its not really stumbling) and I want it. Its an automatic (normally a no-no in a Mini, but I spend all my time in bumper-to-bumper traffic) and bright freaking yellow with the big sunroof. $17,900 with 40k miles. And for the first time ever, I was at a used car lot during the week and there wasn't a salesman in sight.
  15. ^ | | | Agreed, Bonneville pwns Intrepid. And Dodge materials weren't exactly great in the late 90's early 00's about as bad as they are now.
  16. The Buick Viper Relax, its a joke.
  17. Those fumes made my penis smaller which made Fly sad.
  18. Not here Got close a few times, but never over $2.99 Doesn't change the fact that an Excursion hauling a 30 ft trailer, filled with bricks, with the words Chris Doane, Spy Photographer! in huge letters on both sides hurts your fuel useage.
  19. I figured this thread was about all of your male escort and "companion" phone call expenses. I told you long ago, Cory would be much less expensive. Anyways, thats a ton of gas, about 2500 gallons, assuming you've hovered near $2.00/gal. You need to get out of that Excursion and into something that is both more economical and more discreet.
  20. Hey Chris, maybe you and Tim Hardaway can get a reality show on Fox. Even better, you two could fight on Borderline C-list Celebrity Boxing. I'd watch that.
  21. Looking at that car has made me mildly retarded.
  22. Hopefully GM is not finished dumping redundant brands. Pontiac, I'm looking at you. If the G8 doesn't catch on, Poncho should join Olds in the graveyard.
