Toyota Cheats at Daytona
I don't get how its Toyota cheating. I highly doubt they've got people sitting in a room somewhere trying to figure out how to cheat to win at nacar. Its nothing but a 4 hour, 180mph advertising festival anyway, Toyota wouldn't be impacted by wins or losses. The drivers would and the pit chiefs would, so that probably the level on which the cheating is occurring. And also, nacar sucks.

A body alert
I saw a '69 El Camino and a Chevelle (didn't get close enough to get the year or price, but it looked mint from 200 feet) at dealerships yesterday. The El Camino had a tag hanging in the window with the price on it, $18k.

I don't need to go to the US for college anymore!!!!!!
College is extremely expensive, no doubt. Especially out-of-state (or in this case out-of-country) tuitions. Where they really get you is on "student fees" and "lab fees". I paid lab fees for a Biology class that didn't have a lab.

I don't need to go to the US for college anymore!!!!!!
Southeast Missouri State offers a complete Bachelor's degree (Bachelor of General Studies) online. I'm thinking of doing it in the fall instead of going to Missouri State. I'll be able to take enough English and Communication courses that I shouldn't have a problem getting into a tradional Masters program.

I just cant believe Nicolas Cage keeps getting work.

Valentine Car Spotters Thread
I saw a Hyundai Entourage on the road. Also saw a few new Tundras. Not as hideous as people would like them to be, but that fake air scoop thing needs to go.

1.5 Days In the Blue Army
I saw that too, figured an admin was having fun, but it did bring a question to mind. Croc, does your milkshake bring all the boys to the yard?

Congrats
Setups only work if the person being setup is dumb enough to take the bait even though others tell him not to. And yes, certain people do get what they want around here, I'd say that over the last year things have gone in a way that I like and the general membership seems to like as well. Anywho, welcome aboard, this is (and I'm confident will continue to be for a very long time) the best GM site EVAR!

Congrats
Is it because they had an issue with pinballing between the guardrails?

DCX seeks sale of Chrysler to...GM?
What you think doesn't matter. What I think doesn't matter. Hell, what Fly thinks doesn't matter. What matters are the however many million people buy new cars every year (wait, I just did that so I guess I matter a little) because they're what keeps companies alive. And they're buying Camrys, Accord, F-150s and Caravans. Lame? Maybe. Toyota will sell more Camrys in two months than Pontiac will sell G8s in the first year. Lame? Maybe. Dodge will sell more Caravans/T&Cs in one year than Chevy will sell Camaros in 3 years. Lame? Maybe. But its reality.

Tales from the carwash
Ditto. My car is in serious need of a bath, but I wont use any sort of car wash that requires me to remain in my car. I even turned down the free car wash when I got the oil in my Saturn and Solara changed at Jiffy Lube/Auto Magic and they kept insisting that I get my free car wash and I kept insisting that they give me my car. Its going to be in the 50's on Monday so I'll give'er a hand job out in the driveway. Edit: I worded that awkwardly

And the Sexiest Car at the Auto Show Award goes to...
Um...yeah. The CL is automotive perfection. Although if I were in the market (for something that cost ten times what my car cost) I would go for the CL600 because 510hp and 612lb/ft would be just fine for me.

Detroit's Best-Selling Car
I got my numbers here. The headings go Commercial-Government-Rental-Total Fleet-Retail-Total-% Fleet vs. Total Thats how I got the numbers that went to Avis et al.
-
Detroit's Best-Selling Car
Nobody is advertising those numbers, they're mid-year registrations of 2006 model year vehicles. The fleet numbers are great for volume but bad for profit, I doubt Avis (or whoever) paid sticker for those 109k cars, just like how Budget (or whoever) didn't pay sticker for those 20k Camrys.

Real-Life Saturn Vue, Vue Red Line, Vue Green Line pics from Chicago
I was thinking Kia, as in Sorrento.

Detroit's Best-Selling Car
109,105 of the W-body sales were to rental fleets compared to 20,253 of the Camry sales. I wish we could get 2006 CY results

Detroit's Best-Selling Car
Also depends on if you count all sales or retail sales. GM sells a ton of Impalas, Montes and LaCrosses, but a great deal of those go to fleets. Only the Camry is fleeted off the Toyota platform and its not more than 15% of Camry sales, if even that high. I'll go look up the fleet numbers in a few.

Detroit's Best-Selling Car
When is the last time you saw a Solara? They're not hot sellers (I'm biased, sure, but I still prefer the first gen and understand why the second gen wouldn't sell as well) and they cant add more than a few thousand sales anyways. Plus, its the Camry Solara, under the sheetmetal they're the same, Toyota just used the name Solara instead of calling it the Camry Coupe like Honda does with the Accord and Pontiac does with the G6 coupe and vert. What I dont agree with Toyota doing is lumping the Corolla and Matrix sales together. That just flat-out doesn't make sense.
