Neither the NA nor the Chinese LaX has an attractive rear end, but the Chinese one has a better front end (how could it not?) and interior.

My dad has been driving my mom's 2003 L200 while she's in England, the Sebring is sitting in storage somewhere, hopefully being stolen. Last night he was over here with some other family members and my car was parked in so I took the L to the store to pick a few things up. It started to die on the road, just losing speed, and the dash lights dimmed for a minute, then it got back to normal. When I stopped at a red light, it died and wouldn't start. Putting the key in the run position led to the dash lights flickering and all of the idiot lights flipping out. Putting it in ACC led the dash lights to sync with the hazard lights. The transmission wouldn't shift out of park no matter what I did. Eventually a cop pulled up behind me and my dad showed up with my car and got his towed back to my house ("Its closer" ) so now I have a dead Saturn in my driveway. Our first L200 (an '01) had an electrical glitch that kept the dash lights from turning off, I had to take the fuse out when I parked it after driving at night. The red one I had never had electrical problems but had other issues. So I ask, did some British firm from 1967 do the electrical work on these things?

I found the article online, so yay! I dont have to type it all out. Deep-Dish Stuffed Pizza serves 8-10 1 envelope yeast 1 3/4 cups lukewarm water 1/2 cup vegetable oil 1/4 cup olive oil 1/2 cup cornmeal 5 cups all-purpose flour 1 tablespoon salt 1 pound shredded mozzarella cheese 2 cups cooked Italian sausage, crumbled 1 cup sliced mushrooms 3 cups canned plum tomatoes, drained and chopped 1 teaspoon dried basil 1 teaspoon dried oregano 2 cloves garlic, crushed 3 tablespoons olive oil salt to taste 4 tablespoons Parmesan cheese Place the water in a mixing bowl of a stand mixer. Sprinkle the yeast over the water and let stand for 5 minutes to dissolve. Pour in the vegetable oil, olive oil, cornmeal, salt and 3 cups of the flour. Mix with the beater for 10 minutes. Add the remaining flour and switch from the beater to the dough hook. Mix for about 5 minutes. The dough will be pretty moist. Pour the dough onto a floured surface and cover with a large bowl. Allow to rise until doubled in bulk, about 1 hour. Punch down the dough, and let rise again. For the topping combine the tomatoes, basil, oregano, garlic, salt and olive oil and set aside. Preheat the oven to 475 degrees. Grease two 9- or 10-inch round cake pans or spring-form pans. Divide the dough evenly between the two pans. Press the dough out so that it goes all the way up the sides of the pans. Place the mozzarella cheese into the crusts, layering the mushrooms and sausage in with the cheese. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes in the preheated oven until the top is golden and gooey, and the crust a light golden brown. Add the tomatoes and bake for an additional 5 minutes just to warm the top. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan. I did the tomato topping a little differently, I found some canned diced tomatoes with garlic and onion and used that instead of just tomatoes. It was pretty good, but would have been better with fresh tomatoes and garlic instead of the canned stuff. The innards, like I said earlier, I just did sausage and cheese, no mushrooms. I did take a major liberty with the crust, instead of 3 cups of flour, I only used 2 cups and instead of plain cornmeal I used Jiffy corn muffin mix, pretty much just because I forgot to buy cornmeal. The dough rose faster than the recipe said it would and it cooked in about 25 minutes at 475, when I put the tomatoes on I turned the temp down to 300 and let it cook another 10 minutes.

I wouldn't call the Acadia a truck, so I dont think the word belongs in the header anymore, well technically at least.

Haven't had a good food thread in a while. I was reading the paper the other day and came across a recipe for deep dish pizza, which caught my eye because, as a native Chicagoan, I hold deep dish pizza to a very high standard and haven't had anything good around here. I decided to make it this morning even though I didn't have all of the proper equipment, like a mixer with a dough hook so I had to spend the better part of an hour playing with the dough, but it was totally worth it. I didn't do anything fancy with the innards since I was mainly concerned with getting the crust right. In the end it turned out great, would have been better if I had been more concerned with what was in it instead of going with the simple mozzarella/Italian sausage filling and tomato/olive oil/basil/oregano sauce for the top. Everyone who tried it liked it. I can post the full recipe later if anyone wants.

almost no car, not even the wonderful Millenia with the 5-speed auto, will appreciate in value, anybody will tell you that a new car is a bad investment and almost any used car is an even worse investment (the exceptions being things like Z's Corvette which is going to be worth a lot more than he put into it). And if you're saying things like "I wont have the $ for a nicer car anytime soon" then you've probably got better things to spend money on than some rims (which wont make the Intrepid an "enthusiast" car) and if you dont have better things to blow money on then you could easily get the most out of your money by being smart with it. By your definition people who paint their mom's '93 Accord bright yellow and put fart cans on it are enthusiasts when they're really just dumbasses.

BV, have you noticed that AmRev sounds a lot like you did about 3 years ago, well really like you until the day you got the Millenia. Maybe you should sell him the Mazda.

I've been thinking about picking up some Ford rims on eBay, but I'd have to look into whether or not 500 rims will fit on the Fusion. I like the 7-spoke look of my covers and Fusion wheels are 5-spoke. Well damn, the 7-spoke 500 rims have a different bolt pattern and offset than the Fusion ones.

I was going to say the same thing except with Marvin Gaye.Lets get it on woo hoo.

Thats also why I never bothered looking into a Vibe. Small 4 cylinder engines like the ones in the Vibe, Scions, Aveo, etc dont do particularly well when shooting through traffic, especially with the AC running.

I've always been a fan of things increasing in value, a set of wheels wont do that. Stocks will. Investing the money, waiting a couple of years and selling will get you a hell of a lot more than some cheesy rims. I resisted making several thousand dollars worth the improvements to my Saturn and resisted getting a more expensive car than the Fusion by putting a bunch of cash up front because I wanted to buy a house, which is totally more rewarding than having some bling.

Its just dumb to put $3k in wheels/rubber onto a car with unpteen-thousand miles and an NADA trade-in value of under $2k (retail of $3400) for the same reason its dumb to put a huge wing and dubs on an '89 Civic, it still wont be anything special. For once, 68 and I are in agreement, there are better ways to spend the $.

Hopefully they give the next gen the EcoTec, the Toyota motors are gutless.

Follow-Up Test: 2007 Dodge Charger Police Package
Satty replied to Intrepidation's topic in Chrysler
You do realize that more vehicles on the road do 0-60 in far more time than 8.5 seconds, not to mention the fact that cops only need to accelerate from a stop when they're sitting on the side of the road setting up a speed trap, so its probably a good thing they dont have the Hemi. -
Thats less than $100/week American, I'm sure they'll be fine making $34.50/hour instead of $37.

I was on the phone with a friend of mine while he was driving through a parking garage. He said, "Thats not a parking spot" so I replied "Is it a llama?" Once he stopped laughing he said no, its a no parking zone. I told him that in the future he should say what something is instead of what it is not because that leaves it open for retarded interpretation.

You want to put $1300-$2200 rims (not to mention new rubber) on a car you paid like two grand for?
-
Rocks and shoes dont rust, another notch in the column for both of those
-
Because this is still Chrysler, nobody is going to pay a premium for a Chrysler that just matches a Honda or Toyota and a $2500 rebate looks a lot worse to people than a $500 rebate.
-
So because the big 3 allowed themselves to be unionized Toyota needs to as well? Is there logic in that?

Z is right about cycling, its good for clearing the mind.
