  1. I find the front 3/4 view of the SRX in the official photos offensive. It looks better in live shots, as Dodgefan has said. In regards to the RX, it looks like what I like to call a two-ton bag of what-the-f@#k.
  2. A situation I ran into for the results of this particular competition: entry 5 actually placed second, but the sketch vanished. Therefore second place went to Agent Y. If whoever did entry 5 would please step forward (the url said it was a G6 sketch I believe), we will adjust the results accordingly.
  3. And the winners are... 1st Place Zulehan (16 pts) 2nd Place Agent Y (16 pts) 3rd Place MRDETROITMETAL (16 pts) Congratulations to Zulehan for another victory in our Sketch Competitions with his Cadillac XEC E-Flex hybrid! Stay tuned for the next Competition ...
  4. 66Stang: is it a fastback or hardtop? I'd break the bank right now for a fastback to go along with my '72.
  5. This competition is now over. Voting thread up tomorrow. Someone lock this thread, please, since I still don't have MOD POWER yet.
  6. It looks like it was beaten with a twenty-five pound bag of ugly (what an awkward wheelbase and proportions). I give the guy respect for building it, though.
  7. It's a little late, but Merry Christmas!
  8. How about the WiLL sub-brand?
  9. The Opel brand is not sold directly in the United States. In fact, the only Opel models here are the Astra, Vue, and Sky. And they're indirectly sold here as Saturns. The Aura has little in common with the Vectra and the Outlook is exclusive to North America. Vauxhalls are Opels with a market-exclusive name and badge and right-hand drive. The same can almost be said for Holden as their only exclusive product is the Commodore, and it's sold here as a Pontiac, not a Holden. You can't count Opel, Vauxhall, and Holden as they are not directly sold in the United States. You can only count Chevrolet, Buick, Pontiac, Saturn, Saab, Cadillac, Hummer, and GMC. My god, do you have any common sense at all? Everything I just said is pretty much basic knowledge. And, for the last and final time, Toyota's culture and business strategy just couldn't work at GM. Granted, GM does need to change those two things, but following Toyota's tooth-and-nail would not work. It would be disastrous.
  10. I believe the XF was developed using Ford's money and Ford engineers. Sorry, just because Tata owns Jaguar doesn't mean that development credit transfers automatically over to them.
  11. Oh, no. I didn't do these. They're official, I do believe. :AH-HA_wink: But I am flattered, just the same. My sketches only have quality like that in my dreams.
  12. Saturn designs, circa 1985. Raise your hand if you didn't know about the minivan. And they thought that it didn't look like a J-Car ... And I understand that they gave a revision of that design you see above to Isuzu. Not sure if that's true, though.
  13. Now, it is just me, or do these initial designs look maybe just a tiny bet better than their production counterparts?
  14. Blake Noble replied to ocnblu's topic in The Lounge
I absolutely loved the SS Concept when it debuted. Such a low-slug, powerful, organic design. It's a shame it didn't have more influence on the Chevys we have right now.
  15. GM and Toyota are two entirely different companies. What is good for one could be disastrous for the other and vice versa. And what is so holy about Toyota anyhow? They posted their first loss this month, and it wasn't exactly just a few worthless pennies either. They're going to be lucky to break even in the future from what I understand. Get real.
  16. This is an elegant, stately Maserati: This is a fat, dumpy Maserati: The old girl needs to lose a few pounds. She's just a few more pounds away from having more rolls than a country-style buffet.
  17. You can put it that way if you want, but it's still a re-badge. The basic bodyshell -- door skins, roofline and DLO, etc. -- will be the same. It's sort of like putting Carmen Electra's face on Rosie O'Donnell: in the end you just have a pig with a pretty face. Don't get me wrong, the Cruze is mostly pleasant-looking car (I don't like the chrome strip on the decklid, that's a big gripe of mine with the design, although it's a little thing) and it's going to be a great product. I'm just disappointed because I feel as if this product has short-changed us out of something even better.
  18. Everyone, I just wanted to put this out there: New competitions will begin shortly after Christmas. Stay tuned and thank you for your patience.
  19. It's a textbook example of hypocrisy of the highest accord: the banks just had to say, "We need $700 billion dollars" -- didn't even have to ask for it, really -- and they got their money handed to them in 24 karat gold briefcases and without a single stipulation. They didn't even have to keep records of where it was going or what it was being used for. Then Detroit Inc. takes whatever is left of itself down to Washington D.C. and basically had to crucify that said remainder of its former self to get a fraction of what the banks received. And there are conditions that go with that money as well. And here's the real kicker: it's really not even enough to keep the lights on past the first part of next year. The U.S. Government is going to collapse in on itself from the weight of its corruption at this rate. Burn, baby, burn.
  20. I have to agree with Balthazar here. The Quattroporte has always looked like an Italian version of a Buick Park Avenue to me. Now, the Lamborghini Estoque on the other hand, that's an Italian super-sedan designed correctly.
  21. All-new small car, read: HOLDEN CRUZE.
  22. The side profile really reminds me of a M-Class the more I look at it. The character line running down to the front flaring on the fender is a similar element, as is the fender flaring itself. But what really is the most alike would be the shape of the c-pillar and rear side glass.
  23. A very nice design. Some exterior elements remind me of the Mercedes-Benz M-Class. Not a bad thing, honestly. And the interior is reasonably pleasant as well.
  24. I do not support the plaintiff in this particular case. For starters, the injuries do not sound as if they could be caused by a swift tug to the arm. How could tugging on someone's arm cause a lacerated liver, for example? Sounds like an injury that could be inflicted by the seatbelt to me. And I've been tugged by the arm plenty of times before, and really hard too, and as far as I know my limbs are fully functional.
