I've become a master of photography while driving... Damn car's sooooooo long I had to be two and a half lanes away to fit it in my Niko's lens... barely. That's the strap from the camera flapping in the breeeze... as I try not to sideswipe Toyotas or get sideswiped by a KW900 or PB 379. yes, I DID have to hold my arm 99% out the window and low down close to my rocker panel to take this shot.* * No Banana Boats were crashed in the making of this photograph.

XP has a theory about how '70 Cadillac hood ornaments must have used a higher quality enamel/paint than the average year since they hold up so well 9/10 times. The now familiar 472. The "baby" brother to the 500. I love this feature. Classic Cadillacs spoil you. Once you own a old Cadillac and you set the twilight sentinel & auto high-beam switches on you'll never need to turn the lights on/off or turn on your high beams, or dim them for oncoming traffic... you start to take it for granted. Why the heck do brand new cars thirty years later still not have this standard? And here she is at speed... more to come soon...

Moltar: Oil/Petroleum is not exactly a fossil fuel. That's just one of the things we've been erroneously brainwashed about in the modern age. The planet actually regenerates much of it and like most things here on Mother earth the whole process is still 80% mystery 20% science. Granted there's a 99% chance we're using it faster than it is regenerating. But the consumption is going to peek soon... alt. fuel sources are just around the corner.

I don't evne own a creeper yet... nor a garage but I've def. fallen asleep inside/under a partially dissasembled car before at an ungodly hour of the night. Working on cars is the coolest. It's one of those things like sex, even when it sucks it's still pretty damn good compared to the rest of the day. ---- BTW: I nominate this the coolest thread of 2008.

My BOF, full size, RWD, 425 cubic inch (that's 7.0 liters) 4-bbl Rochester Carb breathing, live axle, TH400 auto 3-speed shifting 1977 Cadillac gets better than 12 mpg. How the heck do you figure a modern, FI-DOD, 3.5 V6 and 5.7-6.0 liter V8 powered car get anything close to that? I'm pretty sure big, oversized B-bodys blow those numbers out of the water and everything about those cars was from the early 1990s or older. You sound like a real ignorant dope with an axe to grind when you make dumb statements like that.

Eric: Right you are... I was just painting the general picture. When I visited my homeland of Slovakia in 2001 I saw a gold/tan interior G-body Baby-Bonnie in the Tatra mountains. It was so cool to see that little thing dwarf all those old Trabants, Dacias, Wartburgs & Ladas from the same era.

This as gas hits $140 a barrel / $4 a gallon. Funny thing is I've been nervously watching the G8 at our local dealer and there it sits on the pedestal, six+ weeks later, right where a GTO sat for several months in 2005.
