  1. Mythbusters ran an episode where they tried a bunch of different covers to defeat the camera. None of them worked. The one you guys are talking about might work, but not if it's one of the ones from that episode.
  2. I designed this breed of car years ago...
  3. 700 is still a lot of cars. A lot more than the officer can check manually. Unless the system fails if there are more cars on the road than that. Then yeah, that would be useless on city highways.
  4. Best not to get into it. Suffice it to say, people are idiots.
  5. My gas pedal got stuck under the floormat in the Achieva once. Scared the crap out of me. I was on a side street (in fact, just down the block from my house at the time), so the conditions surrounding the scenario were optimal. What I did to fix it was, 1. Apply brakes (in a panic) 2. Shift to Neutral (once I thought of it) 3. Continue to apply brakes. 4. Investigate gas pedal, observe that it was stuck under the floor mat. 5. Unstick gas pedal. 6. Take a minute to catch my breath. 7. Make a mental note to never needlessly floor the gas going down a side street again.
  6. Eh, I dunno. That's just what I'd pick as my least favorite feature. It's kinda like how the Cobalt Sedan has generic triangle tail lamps but the Coupe has distinct rounds. I was always wondering if the coupe rear clip could ever fit on the sedan (mind you, my car was a coupe). Complete side note: why does the Volt have a front quarter window? It doesn't look like it needs it.
  7. When it happens with men, it's called sodomy. As for women... I dunno, I think it depends on what gets stuck where.
  8. The only thing I didn't like stylistically about my Achieva was the fender skirt. Otherwise, a great looking car for its time. Also, look at the difference in wheel sizes between the Achieva and the Camaro in TED's signature pic. The Dubs crowd really sunk its teeth into the auto industry over the past 10-15 years.
  9. Pontiac Solstice. I am in no position to afford to buy one, and it seems that they will not be replaced at Chevrolet any time soon. The closest thing Chevy has at the moment, the Camaro, just isn't the same, and doesn't (yet) come in convertible guise.
  10. They're a road hazard, yes. When I'm biking (doesn't happen often, to be honest), I always try to keep it on the sidewalk instead. Unfortunately, not all roads have sidewalks or bike paths. This is also why I would probably never swap my mountain bike for a street bike.
  11. This is completely ass-backwards. Regardless how much liquor you have in your system, if you imbibed it voluntarily you are still 100% responsible for your own actions. Maybe that's not the law, but there's no reason it shouldn't be.
  12. This car is twelve different kinds of cool. It's also quite ugly, but I think that's the point.
  13. This guide has worked for me in the past. Try it out if you still need to clean some malware. http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407 Also I do suggest you try out Ubuntu before putting money down on a Mac. You might save yourself some money that way.
  14. I'd have made it even less tall, but I didn't want to spend much more time altering it. Ideas include -Shrinking and rearranging the text, then shrinking the thought bubble. -Shrinking the whole thing. I already cut about 150px of fat from a 400px tall comic, so I figure any gains after that would either be marginal or detract from the comic.
  15. (Of course I had to get this one, because the first word I think of when I see the word Virginia is...) Vagina (It's really not that far of a leap.)
  16. I over this slightly shrunken version of the xkcd comic for your signature. You can keep it the same if you really want to, I just thought this might be better for scrolling.
  17. Papa John is celebrating his reunion. This is a pretty cool promotion, you gotta admit.
  18. Yes, but they're also prepping for the Cruze.
  19. It hasn't been a good month for auto enthusiasts...
  20. I think if you sat in my dad's 02 Grand Prix than sat in my 05, you would not be saying this, at least not about the front seats. In 2002, Pontiac cheaped out and made hollow headrests. I don't care how comfortable the rest of the seat is, the head rest is distractingly uncomfortable.
  21. I recall being impressed with the LS when it first came out. It was hot for its time, and Cadillac had nothing like it, that I knew of. Oh yeah, the Catera. Once again, nothing like it.
  22. I feel like the 04 Grand Prix, when compared directly to the 03 Grand Prix, has a better design all around. Though when taken in light of the 2004 competition, and especially 2009 and 2010's cars, the Grand Prix design is most certainly sub-par. Yes, I'm ragging on my own car. I know what a bad interior looks like; I just don't let it bother me while I'm driving (not a good idea to stare at your quality materials or feel up your dashboard when driving at highway speeds ).
  23. True. 1. Big Lots' selection is not so great. 2. They're a liquidation store, so their stuff is either going to be not so much in demand or ... old food.
  24. Also, if you have a cell phone, don't forget to set an I.C.E. number.
