Typical Noreaster for Long Island:

Snow. Then rain. Then snow. Then sleet. Then it all freezes. All with very high winds. (I actually love this type of weather--love snow, love storms)

I predict a 2-hour delayed start on school Monday. :AH-HA_wink:

I'm moving to Death Valley... Anyone coming with? :P

I'm in.

A winter storm advisory comes into effect for the Baltimore-DC area at 3 this afternoon. Freezing rain and high winds tonight and tomorrow. Ice is more likely than snow.

*rolls eyes*

Friday night ... forecast was for 1-2 inches of snow BY SATURDAY NIGHT.

Instead ... I wake up Saturday morning about 9:30a ... to 2 inches of snow ALREADY on the ground ... and the forecast now at 5-8 inches BY SATURDAY NIGHT/SUNDAY MORNING. Arg.

I guess the storm took a bit of a different path than they originally thought.....

We're getting about a foot. I can barely seen the highrises across the street. Ha, ha. I wonder if Toronto will have to call the military in again to clear the streets.

What a load of crap. I swear... I should be a meteorologist.

We had like a half inch of sleet, then some light rain.

What happened to 1-2" of rain and 25-35mph winds gusting up to 50?

Started out as freezing rain, went over to sleet, which then mixed with snow...before changing first back to sleet and freezing rain and finally plain rain this morning. 2-4" of snow/sleet, topped with a sloppy layer of slush...which will probably all freeze again later tonight. Messy.

Forecasts called for rain and wind with little accumulation.

Now I'm getting a bit of snow with very high winds.... enough that they shake the house from time to time.

I live in a stone, 2 story house, on the very top of a ridge with the back of the house facing due west and no tree cover.

The fire is going, 70 degrees in the house without using the furnace.... screw you Dominion Peoples! :P
