I saw a couple of the vintage GT-Rs in the parking lot at the Coronado Island Festival of Speed in San Diego a  few years ago...love the looks of these cars...along w/ the early 90s R32 generation.

R34 is a lovely Skyline as well:

See the source image

R33 was a nice version too

have to say that while the 72 & 73 are very nice, or what is known as R30 and R31. The R33 was nice but too rounded for me and the R34 just nails it with the right angles and roundness. Then the R35 is just :puke:

R32 and R35 are my least favorite Skylines with the R35 being the ugliest.

Lot of MoPar in those otherwise generic, family-sedan datsuns.
I certainly can understand performance attributes, but stylistically they see-saw from boringly bland to kinda ugly.
You can make anything go/stop/turn quickly, might as well do it with something nice to look at.

I think they look great...they aren't 19 ft long 50s finned cars, so not your area of interest, I can get that.    Also, these were never badged as Datsuns..get your facts straight.

ouch 4 days before the reveal of the new BMW 8 series, a BMW engineer giving his girlfriends mom a ride in the prototype crashes and she dies. Sad.

Another reason Unions need to change and stop protecting long term employees that have criminal records. This guy should have been fired for his driving while drunk, instead due to seniority, after his assault and DUI in 2016 he gets to keep his job and assault people again 2 years later.

I want to play this, Indianapolis 500 in Mario Kart 8. I love this, it would be a fun 4hr play time with lots of Pizza, bananas and everything else that would be fun.

BEST SOLUTION EVER!

If dominos can do this and cities are willing to let them patch and tag it for advertising. I say open up the roads to other companies to pay for patching and tagging.

'Datsuns' was a dig, Cap't Deadpan.

They don't have to be "19 feet long" to look good, they just have to look good. The old ones either look like poor approximations of MoPars (Coronet, Charger), or not that far from such stirring product as the Datsun B210.

Correct- that's Syd. One can google 'syd barrett pontiac' and there's a number of shots.
Further, the Pontiac is a Canadian, 'standard track' Parisienne convertible, so it's Chevy-powered. Scripts look like Bonneville scripts but car has Catalina taillights.

Interesting...googling turned up a color image and text that referred to it as a Pontiac Parisienne (Canadian).   Which makes sense, Canadian market cars often were exported to the UK.

Those little marker lights below the headlights must be mandated by either Canada or the UK, as the US cars don't have them.

Kinda like the stupid requirement to have a single tail light extra bright as a fog light in Europe. Those auto's then look wrong on the US roads with a very bright tail light on one side.

Such crazy regulations. Some day one set of rules to follow for all. :P

Awesome Chevy Tahoe Sleeper: 6.2 L V8 638 HP

https://jalopnik.com/we-all-need-this-totally-normal-looking-1998-chevy-taho-1826773855

FYI, what you see in the video is Issaquah Washington. A lovely area and the Lake Sammamish. Yes everything here is named after indian tribes or leaders. Plenty of details on the engine, transmission, differential and more on the story link above.

Here is the listing where the Tahoe is up for sale. Sweet details.

20 inches shorter than a Fiat 500... put on a 7 slot grille, and it could be the Renegade's baby baby brother--the Jeep Usdi.  ('usdi' is Cherokee for baby).

That is actually a '70.  But cool nonetheless...

From that list, I'd go with the Chevy Kingswood 427 wagon or '70 Chrysler 300 Hurst.

My favorites, though, aren't on the list...kind of under the radar biggies w/ 429 v8s...

'69 Ford XL GT and '69-70 Mercury Marauder X100.

None of those listed musclecars are 'forgotten'.
The Catalina 2+2 actually came out in '64, but the 421 wasn't standard, it was optional. A '64 Cat 2+2 421 would be tops for me.

No plastic cladding?  (In fact, I see no plastic AT ALL except for Morrokhide seat upholstery)  How did ppl recognize it as a Pontiac?

No silver streaks either... this was a particularly tasteful period in Pontiac styling, IMO.

Only plastic on the outside of that car is the front turn signals, the taillights and the backup lights.
Silver Streaks died after '56, quite a bit before this generation. I don't care for the dual Streaks, but I always liked the single, centered Streaks.

I was a take it or leave it on the streaks, never really cared about it, I loved the Vertical headlights and the Beak nose in the grill.

Cool New Taxi Options from Ford: https://www.autoblog.com/2018/06/14/ford-fusion-hybrid-taxi-diesel-transit-connect/

Fusion Hybrid with Cop suspension and brakes or a Diesel Transit Taxi. 🤔

Interesting options as a cab driver. I wonder if Joe Schmo could buy one o these and use it as an Uber or Lyft driver?

Bet a Fleet mgr would not turn down Uber or Lyft from buying them.

Fusion Hybrid police package does make an interesting used auto purchase when they hit that magic 100,000 miles retirement point for the police department.
