  2. Here's one in Cavalry Blue. Pretty tough.

  3. Well, that is a confusing situation. There's a CPO 2018 Avenir and 2 Premiers that have my attention, but even though I can afford them, the rational side of me says, "You should prob just get the Essence... or why not that cheap 2016 Sport Touring with only 15K miles on it... that's a steal!" I also have to really drive the new one because I need to see if I would be able to 1) get in/out easily since I'm tall and the rooflines are low, and 2) if I can tolerate the start/stop. Supposedly it's good, but having had POS cars while in college, there's that anxiety you get when you feel the car has "stalled".

  4. We got this back at the start of October, by the way. It's "in the family" and I bought it through my consulting firm. Back in June of last year, with 6 months to go on the Traverse lease and a checklist of "I don't like...I don't want...but I do want", I made mom drive a checklist of cars: Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo/Limited (what she said she wanted before driving) Subaru Ascent Limited (loved it, just too big) Buick Envision Turbo (too small, too narrow, didn't like the drive) and looked at a GMC Acadia ("don't need to drive it, thanks") Mazda CX-9 Touring (beautiful, comfortable, and not too big. She just didn't want it) 2019 Kia Sorento EX AWD V6 (another one she really liked) Toyota Highlander Limited (minivan, meh, and not a fave) Waited another 3 months, then off with the Traverse and into a late model year 2018 JGC Limited.

  5. For the cost of an Equinox...a more refined Grand Cherokee with a silent silky V6 and crisp 8 speed, that can get better mileage real world, is far more comfortable, etc. isn't that much more. See what's possible. I had a base-base 2016 GC Laredo 4x2 as a rental, also, back in 2017 and it was just as nice, aside from few features. Also the first one I averaged 27.5mpg on a highway trip in.

  10. So I saw an ad for a Fiat 500L Urbana Edition the other day and while I can say it is not my cup of tea at all, it got me thinking about cars I do like that I am at least a little bit ashamed to admit to. I thought it might be a fun and interesting topic. To keep it timely, lets say it has to be a vehicle that was produced within the last 5 years. It does not have to be sold in the U.S. market for you to post it. Here are a few of mine: Fiat 500X Trekking This is the one I was thinking of when I thought of this topic. I'm not sure why and I can't explain it, but I actually like these little buggers. I'm ashamed to admit I actually like it better than its Jeep Renegade sibling. I know it tends to be thought of as somewhat of a "chick" car but I dig it. Chevrolet Sonic Another little runabout that I am a little ashamed to admit that I really like. For this one, though, I am not really sure why I am ashamed. They aren't bad little cars. The current gen is a bit oddly styled I guess. Give me the last versions exterior and the current versions interior and I'd have a winner on my hands. Buick LaCrosse Again, I won't say I am horribly ashamed to admit it, but I am a little ashamed. As a middle aged man, I don't think I am supposed to be drawn to this car until I am 15 years older than I am now and yet here I am really liking this car. I would take it over the Impala. Seriously considered buying one of them last year when they had some huge rebates on them but wound up not pulling the trigger.

  12. There are a ton of non American cars I would own.

  13. Meh, with the age of our fleet, I could just dump the Equinox on the wife.. ? Besides being a bit more plasticy than I like and the stop start issue, the Nox is a pretty nice ride. Even just having an LS offers me quite a bit.... I think if I could sock a little more in funds to go to the Nox, I could see a nice Jeep in the near future.......

  14. This is the worst driving and worst performing mid size truck, when it used to be one of the best. The fact it got a new radio, and not internal gut improvements is the odd part.

  15. We own a consulting firm now for vehicle purchases, nationwide, and usually stay away from the higher end trims for those reasons. Air ride, few want nor is it recommended, and at the end of the day, not much else is different vs. a Limited. Go Limited Luxury II with panoramic, cooled seated, etc. and you have it all. Get ANY 2018+, 7.0" or 8.4", and you have the latest UConnect with CarPlay anyway. Lots of trim options. to choose. Great mix. FCA "reliability" is no different than any other modern vehicle. I worked for Honda/Acura for 6+ years, and came to realize, driving dynamics aside, the build quality was a mix (or a mess), the refinement stunk, and still issues. Before the Jeep, there was a 2011 GMC Terrain, a 2013 GMC Terrain, and a 2016 Traverse. None went in for any issues, per say, but all had miserable infotainment that would crash, black out, or stop working (aside from the 2011 without a touch screen) and poor powertrain dynamics. Buy a 1st 6 months Alfa Giulia...it'll be finnicky. Buy a Grand Cherokee, you've been fine for 8 years, and each year the powertrain tuning is even better.

  16. While I really am not a fan of Toyota at all, I will admit that I do kinda like this version of the Camry. I even kinda liked the interior of it. I definitely feel all dirty and ashamed after admitting it. ? I'm not in love with the interior but its alright. I can't get past that giant, gaping maw this sucker has. Not my style at all. Different strokes for different folks, though. If Paolino is going to get one of 'em, he should at least see if he can find a new '18 on the lot somewhere or get a used one. JMHO.

  17. Yuck! The last Mercedes of that size I liked was the 190 way back when. And even then... One thing that I was surprised to see in Greece last summer, that Bimmers were nowhere to be seen. But the C Class was everywhere. It was shocking to me as in the 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s the BMW 3 Series in Greece was a staple. I guess your feeling for getting your partner into one may not be such a bad idea...if Greeks like it (not this Greek though) then you cant go wrong... But you sure you want to trust a nation that has a hard time with their money for the last...100 years...yet drive Mercedes Benz C Classes? ? Their judgement may not be the best you know... Something to think about...

  19. Im laughing. But for you at the time must not have been that funny! Im also laughing at the effect our resident M-B fanboy has had on us. +1 on the Skylines! I dont think Ill ever own a German car. Ever. Ill drool over some cars that have come out of Germany, but Ill never buy one.

  20. Really? I'm surprised. The Avalon is one of my guilty pleasures and it is way faster than its HP numbers would suggest.

  21. My Genesis lease is up in August and I've been giving great thought to my next move... purchase a CPO LaCrosse (which is most-likely what I'll do), or, and I'm ashamed to admit this... get a new Camry XLE V6.

  22. The great thing about GJC, whatever anyone believes about FCA reliability... They have built and sold so many and you can find parts everywhere for it, and Mopar is unparalleled in the variety of they product catalog. You can basically swap fascias, drive lines, half shafts, besrings, mostly anything except maybe transmission from the '11 redesign up till now. This is the edicated, wise person choice in this segment. Or get the new Explorer or Durango if you truly want something flashy

  23. About the only features from the higher trims (Overland or Summit) I'd like to have would be the power folding mirrors, pano roof, and ventilated seats, along w/ Apple Car Play from the newer versions. Maybe in a few years I'll look for a CPO '19- '20 Summit in brown.

  24. Love that color! Stop start is annoying on my Equinox...still not used to it yet! Love the GCs, it was pretty much my choice before the nox. I am starting to think I might dump the Chevy for a limited one of these (all they have around here). Drove my bosses 18 Limited, and I really loved it. Just a very solid ride to me....

  25. Very nice..I've been happy w/ my '14 GC Limited...had it almost 2 years now. It's been great on road trips and around town.

  26. I always talked people out of adaptive cruise...but now that I'm a road warrior daily in NY, I get it. Good move. Glad it's becoming standard now for normal car makers. You know, unlike GM focus groups and "our customers say they don't want those features"...where even blind spot is optional in a $50k+ Cadillac. Thankfully, unlike GM again (also), the blind spot system in an FCA vehicle is functional, and vs. you having to stare at it because it does nothing but maybe light up, if its on and you signal, "beep beep beep!". Add adaptive cruise (easy not expensive bundle on a Limited), and you're set, including auto parking. The difference in feel and platform between a Cherokee and GC is huge. So, auto stop is rarely noticed in the GC. She loves it...and that's saying something. We test drove a new Toyota Highlander Limited that would shudder on off on off every time, followed by a "what is wrong with this car?" reaction. Jeep, never notices, and likes it.

  27. One of mine would be the Toyota 4Runner. It ain't purdy, but there is something reassuring about this old, solid off-roader. Out of date in just about every way imaginable, they still ride nice. In a different life situation, I might own one.

  28. Limited is the perfect combination, and the best lease in the lineup. Everything is standard, and now for 2019, the further updated flush 8.4" UConnect and Blind Spot are as well. Mom wanted nothing to do with in car Nav after the mess of a MyLink radio in the Traverse (and Terrain before it) so the 7.0" with CarPlay has been perfect for her. Better gas mileage than any car she's had...and rips through the 8 speed, flawlessly. This is a package, 8 years in, that never seems to age vs. the competition.

  29. ^^^^^ My brother likes that car right up there because, and I quote, their "phat ass". I like the new Camry. Say what you will. But you can still get a V6. You can still get a real automatic. Now of course you can always say that we'l, for the same money and some change just get a damn Impala you noob... And to that I say, but does it have a true Quad Exhaust? And then some fake ass bumper vents. I don't know why Toyoto did that to be quite honest. Like who thought it made sense to tack on Walmart style fake vents on that damn thing?
