i know white americans would throw their own mothers into a jet engine so they could continue being racist to hispanics ... but voting for someone who’ll raise the price on their pickup trucks? this must be one heckuva conundrum for the double-chinned Natty Ice and Oakley crowd.5 points

smk likes a tight little redline window of 250 RPM, both so it can be 'proper' AND can be called out for 'benchmarking/copying' a certain singular brand.4 points

He clearly does not care as he is not even capable of supporting America by buying and driving American. He used to brag about how great his Bentley or Rolls was, so let him move to those countries he loves to support and leave us alone. So much for the Art of the Deal!, Clearly our current leadership is clueless on how to best lead America and show leadership to the world. Sadly, this is giving the Chinese the ability to take the new world leadership role from America. The future is grim on many fronts due to poor guidance and planning of America. Some have said with the Amount of US debt owned by China, "Welcome to the Peoples Republic of America, a sovereign nation of China." ?3 points

Fun fact: Mercedes C43 fake-AMG makes 385hp at, you guessed it, 6100rpm. Last I knew, it was also a DOHC engine. ?3 points

Earlier in this very thread you called it “crazy low”.3 points

Fail. These should be V sports.3 points

Yeah, this V seems to have replaced the V Sport and whatever they decide to name the more serious version will be the replacement for the previous V. It's a shuffling of the names that seems completely unnecessary.2 points
-
Isn't the CT4-V will be C43 competitor, and it will have 320hp vs 385hp and 369 lb-ft vs 384 lb-ft. I am not sure if CT4-V will be lighter and by how much than C43, but powerwise it is quite down. BTW just saw this on Motor Trend "And there will also be a track version of the CT4-V with details to come soon. This will be a V-Series strategy going forward, an affordable V and a track V. " So I guess V replaces V-sport and V track will be instead of V.2 points

Interesting, and so telling. 6100 RPM is too low and 7200 is too high.2 points

Cadillac should have gone to San Francisco instead. Different ideas are required, hence they need a different mindset. It's harder in the Midwest or back east.2 points

That wasnt to put you in your place. I figured, I bitched at you long enough two weeks ago or so....so...that "diesel|" party boat was just that...a party boat...meant for us to have fun posting in here. I figured, why be bitter? We might as well all have fun in here... Now that we've done finished with throwing around all these nice pleasantries...2 points

First off neither of these look good. And does GM do an interior that isn't monotone gray? Every new vehicle intro is some bland form of charcoal gray on every surface, and the CT4 interior seems like it came out of a Mazda, not a Cadillac. A 4-cylinder pickup engine in a V-series Cadillac is a joke. 20 hp increase for the V-series means V is no longer for Velocity. They really phoned it in on these. It is almost as if they want sedan sales to tank even more so they can just cancel them all.2 points

^ Not by you; you repeatedly claimed the ATS/CTS were being cancelled and not being replaced. It was your way of proclaiming the 2 series 'failed'. I was here, I read the posts.1 point

Much like you believed the ATS & CTS were "being cancelled and not replaced", you are once again being purposely obtuse/ unwillingly confused.1 point

No price too steep to stop rapists and murderers flooding our streets. ? China will be the world super power within 20 years. They have 1.5 billion people, and they spend their money on infrastructure and technology and not wars in the Middle East.1 point

Last day of the month, nice warm weather...out and about and saw a variety of interesting vehicles...a late 60s-early 70s GMC shortbed fleet side pickup in silver, a mint silver '65 Cadillac de Ville convertible w/ black top, a black CTS wagon (non-V), a very clean dark red early 90s Cadillac Sedan de Ville w/ padded top, a white '14-15 Camaro Z-28, an F8 green '19 Challenger Hellcat Redeye wide body....1 point

Sweet Ride, If you get a chance would love to see the interior and engine. That is a Really nice truck. Thank you for posting and sharing with us.1 point

That will make at least a little more sense as long as that means more HP and not just suspension and handling tweaks to make it a “track car”. I guess we will see eventually.1 point

It's a tri-power engine that can run on 2 cylinders. It's cammed for low end torque over high end horsepower. I'm okay with the engine actually. I just don't think it's worth of the V series badge1 point

Nobody buys an a-class amg. If 'most people don't care about have more than 250 HP', what are they going to think about a camry running away from their entry-level MB? 188 HP is laughable; the CLA had 208 HP 6 years ago and the a-class is the same size.1 point

Obviously you don't believe your own post. There is in the A-class: 188 HP. That's 15 hp less than a camry 4-banger.1 point

You believe redline level determines if a car is a performance car or not? ?1 point

I like the design of the interiors of both cars, it's just they are so dark and grim. They need color.1 point
-
They really have overdone gray... I so hate gray interiors. There is probably some shitty carbon fiber trim in there also on the V-series, though I didn't see any in the photos. In the first post above it says in 'The Big Concern' the detuned V series are so they can do V series versions of their AWD/transverse engine crossovers. So V-series now means basically appearance package.1 point

I'll say this, I haven't been able to get onboard with the tail-light piping.. vertical piping, fine, the (in my opinion, odd) horizontal-into-the-trunklid piping I'm just not liking.1 point

Maybe they are de-emphasizing the high performance ICE V series to prepare for a future powerful 'EV' series...i.e. electrifying performance down the road.1 point

I am surprised to see the The Car & Driver article implied there would be a higher horsepower 'more' V coming. No idea what they will call it and if it will be a V8 or not. It really sounds like the new 'V' is where 'V-sport' would be. Maybe the higher power versions will be called 'V-extreme' or 'Hyper-V'. Was surprised to see that, thought it was going to be a truck only engine.1 point

i was wondering if and when the 2.7L turbo 4 would make it into other vehicles.1 point

Dwight was right... the 2.7L 4 is versatile. That CT4-V is a jewel. Cannot wait to see the green color mentioned.1 point

Same here. I must admit I miss the G-bodies that preceded the W-bodies 22 years ago, mostly because of RWD. (Years ago, before the Intrigue I had an '84 Cutlass Supreme.) But I would say that the Intrigue was probably the best W-body built by GM. As for the FWD G-bodies that replaced the RWD B-bodies, my '08 Lucerne is pretty good but I think I might want to trade it in one day for something more modern (although not the XTS, maybe the 2nd-gen LaCrosse). Otherwise, I may have to consider shifting to a CUV. Which one is the better choice: the GMC Terrain (SLT/Denali) or the Buick Envision (Premium I/II)? Or should I save up for an XT5?1 point
-
Tracker would have made the most sense, as they previously in the US had a subcompact CUV named Tracker. TrailBlazer has only previously been used on midsize BOF SUVs, so this is an inappropriate usage of a past name. But the mindless masses that buy such CUVs won't notice or care, so it's a moot point.1 point
-
It is confusing if you recall how Chevy's midsize SUVs were 15 years ago--the Blazer was the small-midsize S10 based SUV, and the TrailBlazer was the larger midsize GMT360 SUV. Now Blazer is a larger CUV than the TrailBlazer. Makes no sense, IMO. Tracker would have been a better name for this.1 point
-
I have zero issue with them reusing the name but it's awkward on the size of vehicle they chose to use for it... I almost feel like they should have done what Ford is doing with the next Escape/Baby Bronco and the Trailblazer name should be used on an off-road version of the Equinox or Blazer. Yeah, FWD based.. but they could make it work if they made it its own model. If Jeep can make off-roady FWD CUVs, GM can as well. I mean the name "Trail-Blazer" doesn't sound like the name of a Camaro-inspired, FWD CUV with 4 inches of ground clearance and no form of locking differentials(I know that wasn't stated but let's be honest...)1 point

Going to my daughter's softball practice this evening. '69 Cutlass convertible. White. It looked like a red or burgundy interior. Great shape. I was on a two lane small winding road while he was coming on the opposite side. I saw him a mile away. I knew it was a '69 Cutlass as soon as I saw it on the horizon. Gave him a thumbs up from a looooong distance, the phoquer either didnt see me (how could you not see me? Two lane road, one going one way and the other going the other way...) Or he decided to ignore me....either way...asshat!1 point
