The view of Sally fields posterior as she looks out the back window at about 2:19 is as good as the vintage Pontiac action....enjoy!3 points

It also explains why Buick sales are basically geared towards China given that each Chinese Buick outsells the ones here by 4 to 1. Also, the Bolt, while nice at 259 miles, needs to have a range that ideally exceeds 400 miles, not just 300. One more thing, where is my Equinox BEV with a 350-mile range?2 points

Initial investment will be high but operating costs should be much lower year after year. I assume they have the break even point figured out.2 points

Take away the trucks and Big SUVs, and GM sells more vehicles in china than in the US these days.2 points

VW was hitting in the low 260s early on, but in the final approach was having difficulty hitting 245- I assume a byproduct of the depleting charge level- and after only a 6+ min run. Also; I realize it's a dedicated race car, but wow is that high-pitched whining annoying!!2 points

I saw a Canyon lowered just enough (a little over 2 inches) and it looked pretty good. That truck reminded me of the old S-10/Sonoma sport package back in the late 90s/early 00s. I figure with better hanging and a nice set of wheels- it would be a very sharp truck. I really think there are a lot of folks out there that still want a truck but will never take it off road, but still want some fun too..... ?2 points

On top of this, California is using Voter approved funds to replace a big bulk of the diesel buses with clean EV school buses to reduce student exposure to air pollution and help the state reach voter approved clean air standards sooner. https://ngtnews.com/california-funds-hundreds-of-diesel-to-electric-school-bus-replacements1 point

@OCNBLU might have got this instead of the Canyon if he had known about the extra 21 miles of range on the horizon!!!!!1 point

They are sharp cars, one of those cars that looks much better in person than in photos...I made a run to Ace Hardware this morning and drove past a house where an older guy was out mowing his lawn, had his garage door open...a new burgundy Continental was sitting in the garage next to a late 80s Town Car in a similar color.1 point

After about five years, an BEV school bus will pay for itself in diesel and motor oil and other maintenance savings. I would like to see municipal buses be replaced by BEVs too for the same reasons.1 point

It explains why cars specifically are geared towards China first... and even though they may call it a crossover, that Bolt CUV is just a tall station wagon.1 point

I would assume Blue Bird puts on a presentation to the schools showing them a return on their investments. They aren't just going all willy nilly and throwing cash at something just because it's quieter. Either the school district or the state better have a functioning accounting department.1 point

Love this, the whine of the power train accelerating and deccelerating. Will take this over the ear blasting noise of a Harley bike that is not needed. Tuned pipe is one thing like the Corvette, Mustang or Camaro, but over all, would rather have less sound and this ev was a blast to watch run.1 point

? buses seem logical for BE power.... as long as $500,000 buses dont bump school taxes as they explode budgets.1 point

That's a weird caveat. They produce vehicles for the market they are selling them in.1 point

They sneak up on you... but they look so classy rolling down the road. I really like them, but they seem to be holding their value on the used market better than the CT6, and that's my favorite.1 point

Other than bleak sales predictions, which, you know; are legit- that makes little sense.1 point

^ insideevs shows 725 & 625 for Jan & Feb. Regardless, it's not bad, but its on the decline as the chart shows for 2016>2017>2018... and 2019 is on pace for only 14,057. That's 3 years of declining sales. The price bump & the Model 3 hurt the S. Agreed once you consider the price point.1 point

EV's are silent, ergo.....he isn't listening to an EV. i wanted one of those surplus trucks for the longest time when I was younger. heck yes! Or you could just avoid being triggered by other peoples stupidity. It works well for me. You have fabulous automotive content....why don't you post some neat old truck pictures? I have a rather intense curiosity into the conflict between the Israeli's and Palestinians, If i want to watch people fight, I will check out people who are serious about it. i come here to see cars...MORE of your fantastic vintage truck content, sir. I love it on Facebook, could stand every ounce of it you would bring to these humble pages. Warmest regards, Chris, AKA Horse.1 point

You obviously haven't seen the forums page, and how it is organized into various headers, and under those headers, there are threads, each pertaining to the topic listed in the header. Check it out some time! You'll be surprised. There's even a long-neglected alternative propulsion section here at C&G. Have you seent it? For example, this section of the forums is called "The Lounge". We are in the "Random Thoughts" thread. Be my guest... look up the word "random" in the dictionary. Do you have one?1 point

Drew, a query: why do the C&G forums have various sections dedicated to different topics? It is such a quaint idear to have an organized forum. Chaos reigns! I am SHOCKED dfelt hasn't posted something about EVs droning on in the "What Are You Listening To?" thread. Damn, really?1 point

Seems South Korea has decided to hit VW hard for Diesel gate and ban 80 auto's from sale in South Korea. https://www.nytimes.com/2016/08/03/business/international/south-korea-volkswagen-emissions.html https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/audi-porsche-vw-emissions-south-korea/ As such, Audi, Porsche and VW are being hit hard for the Emissions cheating. These stories come from a release from the Korean Herald. http://www.koreaherald.com/view.php?ud=20190820000719#cb Seems Tesla Giga Factory 3 is in debug phase for entering full production soon this coming fall. https://www.teslarati.com/tesla-gigafactory-3-model-3-production-debugging-phase-video/1 point

I can't imagine it is that difficult to lower them 2 inches. They don't need to be slammed or anything, just a more athletic stance. This is dropped 3" front and 4" back. The owner said the caster is the only alighment item that wasn't to spec but it was "very close". I think 2"-3" would be doable from the factory without issue, but this isn't coming from a Colorado engineer.1 point

GMC needs to bring back the Syclone AWD. As @ccap41 stated above, not a hard thing to do, just will GMC do it?1 point

First just to make it clear, please call me DAVID. I am not Dave. Second, I did not miss the School bus thing but wanted to get all my info so you guys @ccap41 can see the difference here. There are multiple companies that are taking old Blue Bird diesel school buses and converting them to electric with 100 mile range for much less of a cost than a new Blue Bird School bus yet needing 15yrs of use to equal the 12yr Diesel school bus use. Multiple reports based on 2018 technology says that EV School buses will equal cost of Diesel school buses by 2030. http://www.orkas.com/ev-school-buses-take-two/ At this same time, Blue Bird School buses just announced a new EV School bus with Bus to Grid feature. These new buses have a 150kW battery pack with a dedicated 100 mile range making them perfect for a days use of morning and afternoon routes. Recharge over night and back at it the next day. Better yet, if for some reason power issues hit, the buses can be plugged back in and the power used from the buses by the buildings. https://electrek.co/2017/07/14/all-electric-school-buses-blue-bird/ Now with that, the EPA also has reports that show that with Solid State batteries, this will be the game changer that should allow more types of Bus / Commercial fleet use to make cost parity come way down on an EV version over Diesel. Just search the EPA site link I posted earlier and you can find the reports on it.0 points
