  1. OEMs need to get back to this: fewer model lines with more variants in each.

  2. Only 495 hp 473 lb-ft of torque LS3 Long block motor is not street legal, but a racing motor only. LS376/480 Crate Engine: 19369333 | Performance (chevrolet.com) Cheapest price from a GM dealer was $9,758.40 Engine (REPLACES PART NUMBER 19369338) 19370413 | GMPartsDirect.com From a 3rd party reseller was Summit @ $8,175.63 Chevrolet Performance 19369333 (summitracing.com) All state this is a racing motor only, not street legal and you still need a controller chip and harness not included. If you want a drop in and ready motor your over $10K if your able to install it yourself. GM prices on ICE have all increased including their blocks only for your own build up. Crate Engines: Classic, Race, and Project Cars | Performance (chevrolet.com) Yes, right now ICE is still a bit cheaper for those on a tight budget, but for those that want change, want something different and want less maintenance, the days of rebuilding an old auto with a modern EV power train are coming. Right now for the wealthy and those willing to pay up which is why EV West and other companies exist. But Soon even OEMs are going to have plug n play for conversion of ICE to EV. GM and Ford have committed to this. Best part is for those that have a loved full size truck or SUV and have decided to spend some money and want less maintenance by going EV, this is a great way to go. I can easily see changing my 1994 GMC Suburban I have in storage to EV with this as it keeps everything except the ICE components. EDIT: Thinking on this, I am really starting to love this idea. 670 Double rear motor with Torque vectoring and Magna has a 160kW (215)hp front end electric motor with steering. Total of 885HP AWD for the suburban. That gives me a HUGE FRUNK!

  3. Then why didn't you have it open for the driver's seat? Good luck with that. You already made it public you DON'T fit as well as you explained. They better be able to fold flat if ICE vehicles can fold their 2nd and 3rd rows flat. How many times per year do they change their prices? I swear it's 2-3 times per year they're raising and/or lowering prices on one of their four vehicles.

  5. This is funny. One could look at this several ways ... She is doing a similar thing that people in a So Cal beach town do once a year when they moon an Amtrak train. Or, "Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?" Love this view - after Two Union Square (1989) but before the implosion of the Kingdome (2000) and the proliferation of all the pretentious high-rise condo towers after that. A good time to be in Seattle.

  6. Lease ended on 2018 Pacifica. Apart from looking at the Traverse and Enclave, made the seriously easy decision to re-up on a 2021 Pacifica Limited all wheel drive. Ridiculous incentives made it possible for a great deal, and we totally loved our 2018. Sorry GM but your GM Card top off was not much extra incentive. 20 INCH wheels on a van? Thank you STELLANTIS.

  7. Your talking body and frame ‘truck’ like a Tahoe. I’m talking the unibody competition which still is , as an SUV Of similar size and space, going to command more because it’s an SUV. the large unibody SUVs don’t have much advantage in towing over a minivan. very few people cross shop Tahoe’s and suburban and expedition etc vs a minivan. If you’re getting a body on frame truck it’s because you want the full frame and a more usuable towing capacity. I’ve never known anyone who’s cross shopped a truck vs a minivan. Also, no one takes a minivan or unibody suv off road. The AWD is simply a traction enhancer for these people in bad climates. True off-roaders take pickups / trucks and Jeep’s off-road. And Broncos now too.

  10. Exactly what I've been saying ^. This is the homogenization of the automobile, EXACTLY like RC cars for adults with no distinction between them, no reason to incite allegiance... just a complete break down of any type of brand loyalty.

  11. Congrats on the new Pacifica! That is a beautiful vehicle. I think Chrysler (Stellantis?) did a fantastic job on the refresh. I still love our Pacifica. We will probably keep it one more year. After that, the wife said she wants a pickup or an SUV. ? I don't get the SUV thing. I'd much rather have this new Pacifica than any SUV. That said, she does at least have good reasoning. She wants to upgrade the camper to something bigger than the Pacifica can tow. The only thing an SUV does better than a minivan in my opinion. The crazy thing is how much more you get for your money in a minivan An SUV with the same level of equipment as our Pacifica would be at least $10k more than ours stickered, and the actual transaction price was much lower than sticker.

  15. Hmmmmm.... Scalable... Art Morrison GM A Body modernized and reinforced frame And the possibilities from this idea are endless... Of course if money was no object kinda of thing. But restoring classic cars done the RIGHT way is kinda hugely expensive and often a money pit without any monetary gains in the end EXCEPT for a HUGE smile of the restorer and/or owner at the end of the finished project.

  16. Harping on the cost is one thing but I don’t see a price anywhere in those article so maybe wait and see what it actually costs before continually harping on it. Just saying. Besides, I’ve seen countless pick ups where people put tens of thousands of dollars on stupid s*** like lifting it three feet and slapping $5000 wheels and party lights on them.

  17. The seats folded flat in my dad's '77 Safari. They also folded flat in the '49 Kaiser Vagabond. And probably every other wagon before & after (up to recent times). Kinda sad it's still being touted as an achievement.

  22. I just watched the 13+ min launch promotional video from Stellantis for the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer...very strange, not a single mention of Jeep or on screen during the video that I saw... love the interior..the outside is pretty blocky, though I like the front end. One idea I saw someone throw out on FB was that maybe Jeep is marketing Wagoneer as a sub-brand, kind of like how Range Rover is to Land Rover.

  23. Yes for allot of people the Rav4 Hybrid is an outstanding solution. I think GM should have made the Equinox and Terrain with the Gen 2 Volt system and sold a butt load of them.

  28. I also keep harping on the cost; both of new BE's and conversion costs. You can buy so many different, factory-built V8s that drop right in so many vehicles; GM Performance sells a 495HP LS3 long block for $7800. If you paid to put it in, it shouldn't run more than a grand- let's peg it at $10K even. EV West charges about $32 grand to do a conversion. More than 6 people may well like the idea.... but there's no price parity.
