  1. 0-60 is well under 6 seconds for both Camry and Accord Sport. This is on par with much more expensive BMW 330i. Both Accord Sport (which I think is better than Camry TRD personally) and Camry probably can give the BMW run for its money in handling as well. So if you want a sporty sedan that will be reliable and at least somewhat fun, I don't think you can go wrong with any of the two. Lexus ES though, I am not sure is worth it.

  2. For the Money, I would own a Chevy Trail Boss full size pickup. This is entirely HOT. GM got both the Silverado and GMC really right. I know David doesn't like them, but I would buy one in a New York minute.

  3. No one will ever convince me that the current gen Durango is not just a taller Magnum. For the record, I got really bored at 1AM and decided to confirm for myself and import the top image into Photoshop have a little fun. Everything there is pure Durango except where I cropped off the top and angled the rear profile down to resemble the Magnum profile. Even the nose is all Durango, just pinched. Looks spot on like a Charger. It's not a perfect conversion overall but you get the idea. They screwed up not giving the Magnum at least one more generation IMO. Imagine a Hellcat Magnum AWD! I know I can (and yes, I am 10000% aware of my personal bias here).

  4. Random thought: a blast from the past ... A Challenger seen in a parking lot in a small town in the hot and dusty Central Valley of California while on a late 2013 road trip from Portland to SoCal and back up.

  5. GM built many of these types of sedans in the past, FWD midsize sedans tarted up to be "sporty"...various Pontiacs, Buicks, etc. These are the same formula, 2021 editions.

  6. The price jump to get something actually sporty that seats four comfortably, is insane. They're a more dynamic driving experience while still being able to have your four doors. there really isn't much that competes with the TRD Camry right now, Accord "Sport"? What else would one buy if they wanted a slightly sporty four door sedan that's less than 35k?

  8. It's certainly possible to have a relatively sporty sedan vs. other trims, given decent suspension/tires and power-upgrades, in any time period. Buyers like them or OEMs wouldn't keep offering them. Not to defend toyoter here but, 300 hp in 3600 lbs is not bad. And GM has built some very good ones in the past.

  9. Vertigo must suck! Another form of vertigo that sucks just to say I sympathize with you. I dont know how me posting this sucky U2 song sympathizes with you, just go with it... I dont suggest you listen and/or view to the next couple of songs because of your vertigo... And this next U2 song, one could say I was numb to your vertigo condition. In revenge, you could think I was the one sitting down instead of The Edge and you were the one torturing me for being insensitive to you...

  10. The Charger handles the twisties just fine. It aint a Nürburgring time attack beast, but that aint what Chargers/Challengers are all about. With the exemption of the Stinger, BMW M5, Mercedes AMG E-class, which are sports sedans that were SPECIFICALLY engineered to run the Nürburgring, and the other RWD sport sedans mentioned such as the Pontiac G8 GXP, Chevy SS and BMW 330i, the Charger OUTHANDLES all other cars mentioned in this thread. Like NO question about it. PS: The Charger is a modern muscle car. Modern in that it handles the curves unlike the wallowing, STRAIGHT LINE ONLY muscle cars of yore. IT AINT a muscle car of yore. I repeat. It handles the curves JUST fine. Its just that its MAIN mission is STRAIGHT LINE acceleration. As a heavy RWD muscle car brute, the Hellcat Charger wide body it WILL keep up with a BMW M4, Pontiac G8, Chevy SS. It will lose. But that is OK. It CAN keep up. BUT...on a straight away. The heavy muscle car Hellcat brute will leave ALL in the dust! And quite honestly, in North America, where OUR (Canada also) roads are actually straight for THOUSANDS of miles, who the hell cares for the twisties? Seeing how BMW, the ultimate driving machine company has sold its soul for top heavy North American sales SUVs that also happen to have MORE heft than a Charger itself, and how an old platformed Charger still sells like little hot cakes, Id say that a good chunk of Americans dont give a shyte for the twisties anymore... I like how @Robert Hall put it. These offerings from Toyoter are the same formula of the FWD sporty sedan of the 1980s/1990s with 2021 seasoning. And seeing how Toyoter produced some nice sporty cars in that 1980s/1990s time frame, its nice to see them get back in the game (in producing sporty rides rather than their late 1990s/2000s coma inducing shyte they gave us)

  11. As far as the FWD sports sedan genre, there definitely have been some that were genuinely sporty from what I have read...Ford Taurus SHO (esp. the early ones w/ manuals), Nissan Maxima SE (from the 4DSC era), the Grand Prix GXP and Bonneville SSEi, 2 generations of Cadillac STS, more recently the Buick Regal GS from about 5 years ago... They weren't proper RWD sports sedans like a BMW M5, Pontiac G8 GXP, Chevy SS, Mercedes AMG E-class, etc...but definitely better to drive than the usual vanilla FWD midsize/large sedan...

  12. My Mom and Dad were like that. In 1998 when they visited me in Colorado, they didn't enjoy the ride I took them on winding mountain roads w/ steep drop-offs on the sides and no guardrails, or walking over the Royal Gorge suspension bridge... I like funiculars and going up in gondolas/cable cars/etc as long as they are enclosed. Something open like a ski lift where I'm sitting in the open with my feet exposed kind of freaks me out...

  13. It is not a fun thing. I love hiking but I am very selective when it comes to vantage points. Sometimes its not so bad and other times, it damn near paralyzes me. There is no middle ground with it.

  14. Two door is the way I would go (and the V6). Who knows? Maybe one year I can swing a $40K splurge. For now, I'll just have to enjoy the lunchbox (what I call my Flex).

  16. The latest wrangler, the 2018 up adresses a lot of issues with earlier Wranglers. I find myself hiking more than wanting to go four wheeling. And I think the new Bronco, when it finally goes into full production in August, will kick the Wranglers ass in so many ways. Again, I am convinced Bronco will be much better. They had to heavily discount Gladiators to get rid of a bunch of them. Wranglers were moving, Gladiators were not. Wranglers are stupid hot around Columbus and elsewhere. On a recent trip to North Carolina it seemed like every other vehicle was aWrangler. And they hold resale like nobody's buysiness. The 97-2007 Version has frame rust issues that would make toyota blush. Kick ass Impala.

  17. Every time I ride in Wrangler of any year, I feel like a bobblehead with palsy. Would never, in a million years own one with my back and hip problems.

  18. Bingo. It all comes down to it being enclosed. Put me at the top of a skyscraper. As long as it has a railing or it's glassed in. I loved visiting the CN Tower in Toronto. I've been 3 times - first in 1996. Being over 100 stories above Toronto and the lakefront is remarkable. I'm easily up there for over 1 to 2 hours. I might agree with your parents if it's a real edgy and substandard road. My parents got wigged out by CA-1. Driving south on CA-1 - a good road - between Monterey and San Simeon is not the place a driver should get overly confident. (Unless it's a chase scene from "Basic Instinct" or something.)

  19. Its NOT a track car...the Charger. ITS a COMFY GT car meant to go fast for LONG rides that can handle and brake quite good for what it is. There was no need to say that Chargers dont have much handling. They do OK. Lets flip the script. All other cars are crap in acceleration as compared to the Charger. I dont want to hear anything else... All other cars do NOT measure up as good muscle cars as compared to the Charger. In other words, just accept the Charger for what it is... In V6 AWD form or any of the V8s. Point final!

  20. Kia Stinger but that is even a little over priced and the back seat is smaller than the Camry. The Charger, but those don’t have much handling. Maybe Kia K5 GT or Sonata N Line, otherwise you are going over $50k for a sporty sedan that seats 4.

  21. Unlike many of the other companies where your right, broken or reduced performance for charging, Electrify America is very focused on delivery of performance especially since VW BEV's are tied to them at 800V Charging. EA has to also file quarterly reports to CARB on state and national performance. Press releases - Electrify America NEWSROOM Here is their annual report covering what they have done and it is impressive as they focus on educating the public as well as build awareness of all they do from public charging to home installed 220 / 110 charging. As of 4/30/2021 Cover Page Fixed (electrifyamerica.com) Mission statement: About Electrify America | Electrify America Locate a Charger and status of charger: Locate a public EV charger | Electrify America As per their FAQ, The Electrify America Customer Assistance team is also here to help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 23. Yes, I do not like them over all, but this is the RARE one they actually have that looks decent. Not as decent as GMC, but this one is not bad. Better than I think all the other trims they offer.

  24. It would drive much better and be much more reliable and fuel efficient I think. Ride amotorcycle across the Mackinaw bridge in Michigan... I love fried chicken, but what's that ugly Toyota doing out front of the chicken joint? (Horse ducks wrench thrown into the stable...) I love it in black, if I ever traded my black Ranger in....

  26. That is a very Sharp looking SUV and way better looking than the Wrangler IMHO. As one who owned a 1994 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Edition in Green, it was cool at first, then the noise became a pain and eventually the repairs. Traded it in as the only time I did within the same year for my 1994 GMC Suburban. So much better than the wrangler. World longest walking suspension bridge just opened. Very cool!!!

  27. I have no doubt about that. I would take one over a Wrangler any day.

  28. The one Wrangler I was in was shockingly cramped. And I hated the raised lip at the door sills; I would be on my ear every 4th time out of the vehicle.

  29. They are wicked fun to drive though. Cornoavirus sadly is going ballistic worldwide even as it ramps down a bit here in the United States. And Drew was right in one of his comments about us never hitting her immunity of going fully back to normal because of people who refuse the vaccine. https://www.axios.com/covid-cases-global-india-pandemic-who-1aa326d3-55c0-485c-a546-dee93a6da155.html

  31. On the surface, its a nice enough looking ride that pays homage to the Scrambler days of old but it is horrendously overpriced and underperforms on nearly every level that is not related to off-roading, not to mention the host of quality issues already plaguing them.

  32. I like the gladiator but a bunch of people I know that bought them have traded them back in. I like the Ranger, Tacoma, and Colorado better as midsize trucks. I would own a nice Ranger or Colorado ZR2 over this.

  33. I just like the paint scheme. I also love this paint scheme.

  34. Yes GM gave a Look but I would not call them Sporty, just Marketing fluff for added dollars selling to the uninformed who think this is a sports car. Yes these were better than the lower trim levels, but not what any person aware of the auto industry would truly call sporty. Toyota is truly following GM history or tarting up a pig with lipstick.
