  1. Totally agree, Fiat screwed the Pooch once and never again. After all the US and GM has done, time to move forward with other companies that are actually set on being honorable.
  2. I think this could work for Caddy once they address the other needs in the product line.
  3. I disagree, we will see better cars, the death of some of our own loved brands will free up dollars for the remaining brands to finally be distinctive.
  4. I would disagree, not all colors look good on all cars and of course it is subjective as I do not think everything looks that great.
  5. Wow, that is pretty sad to have that many outages in 45 days.

One less Toy on the road. I just hope no one got hurt. Wishing you all a safe experience in the storm. The pictures on the news are freaking amazing.
  9. Interesting, clearly just evolutionary not radical next generation change.
  10. My Toronado can make it through fairly deep snow just fine thanks. I have pushed snow with the air dam on my HHR with no problem with only all season tires in the snow belt of the great lakes. . For those of us that love to drive, we can drive any 2wd appliance in any weather and do fine. The problem and reason for more people to go to AWD is that more and more people do not care about driving and they only see it as an appliance to get from point A to point B safely. So by making the auto safer, they can just get in and do a lemmings drive. My son is like me and enjoys driving and yet my daughter has an AWD Durango as she just wants to get around as safe as possible here and haul her friends and not have to think about it. To quote her, after having driven both our Escalade and our Trailblazer SS AWD SUV's, she feels safer and more planted in all forms of weather and it reduces her stress of worring about loss of traction. She wants to get in and go and talk with her friends rather than worry about if the auto has traction. In this case, an AWD SUV/CUV is perfect for her.
  11. Now that's a thought! If GM and PSA did co-develop something equivalent to VW's MQB platform, it could underpin basically everything from the Sonic to the Malibu/Regal and possibly even the LaCrosse/Impala. Not to mention the next Encore and Theta replacements. Then, hopefully GM would use Alpha which should be flexible enough for several Cadillac's (hopefully the next SRX again), Camaro, and whatever other small RWD vehicles they have worked up. If GM can come up with two standardized global platforms that loose weight and offer the right balance of strength, rigidity and flexibility, They could do well then to have this cover their FWD appliances and RWD appliances and then sell it to less funded auto companies who need a diverse platform to build cars on.
  12. I agree, GM is proving that the OEM's need to pay attention to the input from the After market crowd and bring them to the dealers lot in OEM trim. This will go a long way in helping to increase sales and lower cost. Many people love to buy a car that is a bit tweaked/customized like what you find at Sema without having to go out right after purchase and spend more money to do it. After market rim makers should tie up with the OEM's and allow a wider selection of rims or at least get the OEM out of making their own bland rims. Have two or three rims for a product line and then have a selected vendor that can allow even more options. Except for my ESV Platinum Escalade that I love the OEM rims, very clean and simple yet make a nice statement on my 2006 model, I have not been a fan of what GM has choosen for rims.
  13. There's always that 'air powered car.' But I'm not sure we'll want to pump that type of gas out of a hose. LOL I have created the Butt-n-ator. This is a self fueling power source for auto's. Just eat plenty of material that causes gas such as Dairy, Cabbage, beans, broccoli, etc and then when driving you can just fart into your seat and it is stored in a special can under the seat and used to fuel the car. Natural Methan at it's best.
  14. A lot of it is guilt. Where I live (and I'm sure in Seattle too), a considerable number of Asian students have high-priced vehicles and toys, yet they live here alone. They're called 'satellite children,' because their parents are in Hong Kong or China. Wealthy parents don't have the time to actually be, well, parents. So they use material goods to offset the guilt. As this case shows, good parenting was missing. Very true, Both of my kids now 29 & 25 have friends who are Satellite kids and they have everything given to them. Very sad that the parents cannot be real parents. Many of my kids friends come over on Sunday to be a part of our required Family Dinner. Amy and Alex are not allowed to miss Sunday dinner. A chance to get caught up on each others life and unplug from the high paced tech race of society. Their friends are always welcome and we always have 2 or 3 that join us and really like it. They have started to call us Mom and Dad and even come to talk to us about decisions they make since we do not judge them, we just offer our input based on our experiance being 20+ years older than them. Wow Do I feel old now.
  15. Interesting, I am with GoDaddy and been pretty happy. I see they are a big international hosting company. I am surprised they have outage issues.
  16. I agree with your statements above 100%. GMC should have 3 distinct levels of their models where necessary - standard (current trim lineup of W/T, SL, SLE, SLT), urban (Denali), and off-road (All Terrain). A truck/CUV/SUV for everyone's needs Just imagine if GM listened to us, they could make some serious cash.
  17. That truck is just freakin hot! Another reason why I hold onto my Suburban. It just rocks.
  18. The point was... it wasn't insignificant. 62 lbs is comparable, for instance, to the entire sound insulation package used in many compact cars. 62lbs to me is nothing, I guess if you are used to compact cars then you are right it is significant. But for a guy who only owns full size SUV's or my performance Trailblazer AWD SS, 62lbs is nothing. In a car the size of a corvette, there are many places that they can adjust to drop a 62lb dumb bell. I think the technological gains of this very Efficient Engine outway the small 62lb gain in weight. As we all know, Horsepower might win the Marketing battle, but Torque wins the war! Just love that quote.

    It's Art

After seeing this, I just do not know what to say. WTF!
  20. Good to know that it was a paint option. I agree Ocn as paint issues were industry wide with problems.
  21. I wonder if this GM/PSA platform could end up being a global platform on the scale of what VW is doing where you can build a wide range of auto's on it and sell it to less funded companies who want to use it to build their own auto's.
  22. Do you know if the Two Tone was an OEM paint option?
  23. Out of Curiosity, who is the web hosting company?
