  1. Or like their hideous Panamera a total nightmare. Time for Porsche to get a new style anyway, their cars all look dated.
  2. I could see him show up at Chrysler. In regards to Mullaly going to Microsoft, that would be the biggest mistake and be a death nail in Microsoft. They need someone with Technical vision, not a paper pusher who knows how to clean up mgmt. messes that the Ford Family left behind.
  3. Interesting post, I for one love Evolutionary and better yet Revolutionary auto's. Right now Auto Design has gotten in a terrible funk of blah egg shape design and everyone following the same style. I know many will want to hang me but Porsche is an over done, old design that needs to be retired and the Panamera is a ugly monster that has no beauty to it. Been in them, drove them and I find nothing to set my butt on fire. The images while interesting are eggs that I have to say generate a Mehhh response. Hate to say it, but Holden laid an egg with this, screams of a last ditch effort rather than a real response to continue to sell auto's. Actually disappointed in it more than anything.
  4. Be interesting to see what the first type of auto's are that get imported and what the cost would be. This would be a great time for Cuba to also look at green fueled cars and set a standard rather than just let old existing auto's come in as is. They have a huge Sugar crop that could be used to make alternative fuel.
  5. So far I have not had good luck with AMD. Their CPU's and box's seem to always be buggy and have never run reliable for Windows or Linux. So far while I love competition I have yet to stay on anything long term other than Intel.
  6. Nice Changes, Thanks for the update.
  7. So it would seem that we could have very efficient performance v90 V6 and V8 engines with Superchargers or totally re-engineer the V6 and V8 engines to send the exhaust to the center of the engine where you would mount a single more efficient turbo that can handle all of the exhaust but that would require major re-engineering of the engines or at least the top end of the engines. Personally, I will take a larger V8 engine over smaller turbo engines. I loved the 3800 SC in the Buick, was a blast to drive. Loved the Supercharged Cobalt as it was also fun to drive and while many here say Turbo's are very reliable in high mileage cases, I have not seen that yet myself and after yesterday where a kid in his Civic all turbo'd out tried to cut me off on the highway and my Trailblazer SS only needed a nudge to jump ahead and get away from the idiot driver. I am sold on my pushrod V8 Corvette engines for long life, solid performance and a total fun factor that 4 and 6 bangers just do not seem to produce for me yet. Happy Holidays all!
  8. I think GM needs to look at dumping the Euro Union jobs and go with the better built Korean folks. I think this would help them in quality and long term growth of the market. Sadly, I think GM still needs to shrink departments around the world to deal with the over all world economy issues and over capacity problems.
  9. While I love the idea of an AWD Sports car and would love to see a Cadillac V AWD. Right now I have to agree with those that say they need to go on a diet and loose some weight. Or at least get the HP/Torque up high enough to give the performance of a light 3000lb auto with the MPG of a decent mid size sedan. We have been stuck on teen MPG for a long time.
  10. I agree that there is market place for these auto's and that they need to be refreshed. Yet I think they could dump the Dodge version and just have one Chrysler version that starts with a plain Jane model and goes up to an ubber luxury model. With Chrysler, Honda, Toyota having the bulk of this market, I do not see any reason for GM to get back into the Mini van market. CUV's are the future and would limit the stretching out of R&D dollars as they are needed to get GM current products back to World Class Quality. When GM gets to a high profit stand point like their arch rival Toyota, then they can look as niche auto markets.
  11. Seems common sense to produce the hardtop version to get sales going and work on the convertible version over time, a year or two probably behind the hard top version.
  12. Acura needs so much help in style it will be interesting to see what they do. In regards to the FIT, a New updated model could not come soon enough for this overly hard plastic ugly little monster. The inside is as bad as the style on the outside. I still do not see why people want the Fit when they at least in Seattle are always fully loaded and cost more than a civic and yet are so much smaller.
  13. Nice write up, I have to say that this SUV has gotten uglier and uglier. Man does Toyota need to go back to school on style as this is just butt ugly.
  14. Be interesting to see what affect this would have on the other auto makers.
  15. New Jeep Cherokee in Silver. Looked nice, had their 90 day temp in the window.
  16. Lovely Eye's
  17. A loaded LT like this would still be plain on the outside. The loading up of the outside was left to the GMC versions of these auto's or the rare chevy Tahoe GT. One option is if you want to take it off road and withstand dents and dings and scuff's then from the belt line on down cover it LineX. I have a friend that actually covered his whole suburban in LineX so he did not have to worry about a scratched paint job.
  18. As always, Clearly their love for Japan comes through over America. I would disagree with more than half of those choices. Big benefit is it leaves many awesome auto's at lower prices for those of us that can and do love American Rides to pick up.
  19. I had a friend that brought over a car he had loaned to his nephew for a few years. There was just about everything ground in and he had tried to use a rug doctor to get it all out but still looked bad. I took the time to remove all the trim pieces so that the whole carpet could be pulled out of the auto. Trust me this did require removing seats. I then bought commercial carpet cleaner and laid the carpet out on the driveway, covered it in commercial carpet cleaner and use a stiff brush with my own arm power to scrub the whole carpet. I then covered the carpet in more cleaner and let it soak in the sun for about 30 min. Then took a hose with a strong nozzle and hosed it out. Only a couple places needed a second treatment but over all it cleaned right up and then I hung it over a ladder so the water would drain out and let the sun dry it. Once it was dried, reinstalled into the auto. No need to fear about changes as the auto carpets even with their pre-formed areas seem to hold their shape really well and it looked almost like new on the inside.
  20. While I hate the original Fiat 500, the 500L has potential. So I am excited by the Jeepster to see what kind of Butch AWD and AWD Trail Rated versions they build.
  21. Testing in Productions Rocks, plus I expect more people to be involved in the holidays so not many will probably notice till after the new year. Good Luck with your agenda.
  22. Washington is a stupid t plate state.
  23. I consider myself a car nut and while I wish the Fed's would just standardize a single back plate for all states, I know it will never happen due to idiot politicians. Not worth getting upset over and I would always take the better quality of life, job and family over an auto with 2 versus one plate.
  24. Interesting Ideas, thanks for posting Dwight.
