Cleaning glass
I swear by clay bar's, it is allot of work, but the smooth silky paint job is amazing when you done and waxed and buffed to a shine. In regards to the windshield, I use normal windex to clean it, then rainX and let it dry and then buff it off to a amazing shine and the water just beads up and runs off so I hardly have to use my windshield wipper. Not sure why you had a smear problem. That is weird.

1996 GMC Suburban
GMTruckGuy74, The leaks posted do not make me worry that much as I have been able to replace most of them myself when I did have to do it and the seal on the connection point of tranny to engine got fixed when I finally did replace the tranny with a rebuilt from GM. It was the cheapest way to go and since their rebuilds have a 36 month / 36,000 miles warranty, it was easy to buy and install my self. You can rent a tranny stand an do it in a day if you are focused, prep before and have everything ready the night before.

Cadillac News: Spying: Cadillac CTS, Now On The Streets
Yet look at all the passion we have in one way or another. With passion and determination, Caddilac will become the world standard again in the future I believe. ATS, CTS, SRX and Escalade will help them achieve this.

1996 GMC Suburban
Well, the '96 isn't mine just yet, and the one I posted was for referencing the lift I could do with it Yours is very nice. 1994 was an interesting year for me with Yukons, Tahoes and Suburbans (both). I spent a lot of seat time in them at car shows, I test drove a diesel gold-colored Tahoe Silverado at Reedman Auto World in Langhorne, PA (that was fun!), and day-dreamed a lot about owning a Suburban (I was 19 & in college at the time, so it was not only uneconomically feasible, but just little old me to drive such a big truck). If the leaks mentioned above are not red flags to purchasing this Suburban by anyone here, and the rest of the truck when I see it in person Saturday is in decent condition, I just may be fulfilling a very old wish I wish you the best, if the foundation is solid, these are beast that can last a long time. Good Luck. FYI - You can do a 2 inch Body lift and the Duramax with Allison tranny fits perfect, just have the drive line adjusted and get the wiring harness for the engine bay. I bought a book on doing the change over and talked about it on a thread here. I still hope to do it, but have not yet. http://www.thedieselpage.com/duramax6600.htm http://www.thedieselpage.com/duramaxconversions.htm Awesome vehicles, enjoy.

Industry News: Average Transaction Price of A New Car Goes Up
Yea, but I had a rental car a few years back that had manual levers for raising and lowering the seat, twist knob for lumbar support, all worked very well. Cheaper to produce, let chance of failure. We need to stop producing a disposable society and have people understand what it means to work hard to pay for something nice and learn to take care of things. Maintenance is NOT a dirty word. My first vehicle was a 1976 Series 5 Luv truck with the Isuzu 4 banger and 5 speed manual. Manual windows, Manual door locks, Manual bench seat. AM/FM radio. This my dad bought new from LeeJohnson Cheverolet in Summer of 75 for $1575 out the door. I loved that truck and when I turned 16, my dad gave me the option of $2k towards a vehicle of my choice and needing to get a job for car payments or I could have his truck. I took his truck, got a job and restored it to factory stock spec. and sold it when I went to Japan for College in 1989 for $3500 to a lady in Kirkland who still has it and drives it. She loves it and babies it. I do wish some time I could have that truck back. It had real style. We need to roll back some of the stupid laws that have bloated entry level cars and this would open up a ton of folks to driving.

Industry News: Shelby Considering A New Halo Model, Expand To Other Ford Models
I think we will see Shelby pretty much ring out as much performance and extra dollars on other cars and trucks as they can before these versions are replaced by new ones. Imagen a Shelby Fusion on the new body style!

Industry News: Average Transaction Price of A New Car Goes Up
WOW, I like the little focus, but would not pay 3100 more for it. I do think the younger generation is expecting far more toys on an auto compared to what we had growing up in the 70's and 80's.

GM News: Does Mark Reuss Think Large Cars Have a Future? “Absolutely”
That is so true, I am average size for my family. Smallest one is my middle sister at a tiny 5' 8" and then 2nd smallest is my oldest sister at 6' 2" and then all the guys are around my size so I can understand the whole pathetic size of todays full size compared to a 76 Oldmobile Delta 88 That baby I loved with room to spare.

Fiat News: Rumorpile: Fiat 500 Gaining A Turbo & Abarth Convertible
Saw my first 500 with a washington plate on the road today. Was on the corner of 4th and Jackson in Downtown Seattle. It was in the middle lane between a Hummer H2 and a Ford F450. BOy did that ugly little car look small. Guess someone actually bought it as it was not dealer plates.
