Totally agree with Frisky on this one, we are 50 - 75 years out at the earliest of having 100% autonomous vehicles. I know I will still be driving in 25-30 years from now and have no plans to go with one of these robot auto's. I love my older auto's and love driving them and being rural, I do not see autonomous auto's working in the rural but for maybe 25% of the time.

Interesting, very much like the zip auto service in Seattle or the BMW car service. Be interesting to see how this goes for Cadillac. Not my style of having auto service but for some with money to burn I can see it working for those that like to change out their auto's often. Wonder when the Escalade V comes if that will be added to the service?

I like being a realist, life is shitty all the time and as such what ever happens I end up being happy since it is better than the worst case situation. Signed the ETERNAL REALIST OPPORTUNIST, my glass is always half full!

Honda News: Honda's Civic Type R Could Be Boasting A CVT (UPDATE)
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Honda
Interesting update, cool that they will only be manual trans for the Type R, but at the same time, Honda is still FAILING as they are missing out on the Enthusiast that wants better performance and would pay for a quality 8 speed auto trans in this car. Weird Marketing for sure. Todays Auto trans are far superior to the manuals, why not a DCT Auto 8 spd?- 13 replies

Honda News: Honda's Civic Type R Could Be Boasting A CVT (UPDATE)
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Honda
FAILURE! Sorry but no CVT will handle being tuned for all out street racing. You cannot replace the strength and holding of traditional automatic transmissions with a cheap ass CVT metal impregnated band. Just cause they tune it for holding on low-end acceleration does not mean it will not skip and totally fail to deliver mid and high in aggressive driving. Plus with most people not able to drive manual trans anymore, the chance that most will come in with a manual compared to the dealership morons ordering the CVT auto is pretty clear. I would expect 1/3rd to be manual and 2/3rds to be CVT Crapola!- 13 replies

Very cool picture, so glad the new highway is in. Way faster and safer than allowing anyone to just drive over the dam before. I wonder the same thing, who's watching?

I agree with Ocnblu, the last one, Gray Regal with the leather interior. That one is a decent looking ride for the price. Check out under the hood, under the car for any hidden heavy rust spots and test drive it as I know you would. Hopefully the suspension will not have any issues, but I know road salt back there can really take it's toll. Best of luck to your son and his new career.

I am confused as I read through the tweets and the one tweet which was the only tweet that stated it would not buy Ford was about how they perceived Ford supporting Racist trump, not for closing or not moving forward with production in Mexico. Where are the tweets on canceling the mexico plant? I did not see them. Overall interesting read, thank you for posting.

Anyone else see or watch the video showing the Faraday Future EV Auto Reveal? Check it out now as it is a very cool EV Auto with 378 Miles Battery Pack.
-
At 15:20 is where the actual presentation begins with Nick. 36:02 they show their self parking with no one in the car, VERY COOL. EPA rated at 378 miles per Charge for the 130kWh battery pack. 1050HP or 783 kW motors. 2.39 seconds on 0-60. 58:36 they finally bring the car on stage and show off the 0-60 speed. 1hr 01:50 they cover the drag of .25 and how every point reduced is a 12 mile gain in battery range. 1hr 8 min they start showing off the production and details of the car and then finally bring the actual auto on the stage at 1hr 11:30 min. 1:20:00 they show off the interior and talk about the car, rear doors are suicide doors. Interior is very roomy it looks like and I think cool. The whole thing is great to watch, the last 30 min is probably what most will want to see as they tour the auto for everyone. FF91 deliveries will begin in March 2017.

So lets leave the political banter in the political forum threads and get back to random thoughts! GE just bought 75 Boeing 737 Max which only has one engine, the GE Leaf engine. I wonder what besides the obvious leasing of jets to others might be a reason for GE so focused on buying Boeing jets with GE engines. Could this be GE's way to long term plan production capacity knowing they get to write off certain expenses and cost associated with leasing jets to others that they buy? Very interesting on top that GE has purchased stock in both FORD and GM according to their filings as diversified investments. Makes me wonder if GE is hedging their EV strategy as they build controllers for electric motors. H'mmmmmmmmmmmmm

Simple, he started off with saying he had stopped and test drove a CX5. I have been in all 3 of the CUVs and they all have big problems that i have come across and now that i finally spent a week in a CX9, I can say that I would never recommend the Mazda CUVs to anyone. Way too many problems which I will cover when I do my write up on my week rental of the CX9. I missed the comments about a Mazda 3.
-
Go for the Focus over the Mazda, after my 8 days, 7 nights with a Mazda CX-9 in Hawaii, I give the Mazda CUV's a D-. Reliable point a to b transportation but everything else about the auto's fail. Writing up my review to post in members reviews of auto's for this week. Focus is a better auto for you than the Mazda CUVs.

Nothing fancy today, but found these two videos of a guy who bought this 1939 Dodge Brothers 1/2 ton pickup for $250.00, cleaned it up and then decided to make it an EV. Pretty Cool if you ask me! Part 1 Part 2

ATS 2.0T AWD would be an awesome auto for you.

Auto companies will still be on the hook to replace them or face fines. I suspect if Takata goes bankrupt and closes down, someone else will step in to supply bags as buying back auto's will be a nightmare every auto company will want to avoid.
