  1. I hope not., The ability of that thing is nothing to write home about. Very true, the i3 is ugly on top of awefull. Having a neighbor with one, I was not impressed at all with it and just short of 1 year he traded it in as it never lived up to the expectations BMW marketed it as. The i8 on the other hand is nice and exciting but as a hand crafted car, it is also another nightmare that BMW mechanics hate to work on. Clearly not a well thought out car.
  2. So what did you not get out of the half moons that you get out of crushed? Easier to chew? I have family members that have also flipped back n forth between cube or crushed and never understood why. I have been a cube person all my life so I am truly interested as to why a person likes crushed over cubed?
  3. I have to say he led some very exciting designs at GM. I loved this concept even though many had mixed feelings about it. 1959 Cadillac Cyclone Concept Wonder if GMC got the Syclone name from this beast? I would also love to see sliding doors on modern cars today as it allows one to park in tight spots and the ease of entry and exit is awesome. No not a Cadillac Minivan, but have the CT and XT doors open like this.
  4. Common Sense would be that GM create a Carbon Fiber base that is used by Corvette, Camaro, as well as a halo car for Buick and Cadillac. There would be no sense to spend $1 Billion alone on Cadillac and I suspect that BMW did not spend this amount for their own Carbon Fiber structure and body panels. I can also see the VOLT moving to the Carbon Fiber replacing many steel areas and using just a select amount of high strength steel with mostly carbon Fiber.
  5. G. David Felt Staff Writer Alternative Energy - www.CheersandGears.com Manual Trans, Woman versus Men! Are Men becoming soft? Came across this story on Autoblog. After more than 50,000+ leases reviewed at swapalease.com shows that woman more than men enjoy driving a manual trans. Sadly this seems to point to the save the manual campaign as failing as manual auto purchases are a dying breed. According to the data, leases on Manual auto's have dropped by 22%. In 2012 85.4% of Manual Trans leases were by men, 2015 that number had dropped to 81.2%. Woman on the other hand in 2012 was 14.6% of their leases were a manual transmission but in 2015 that number has rose to 18.8%. Now more and more editorials are clarifying that as a road trip car, manuals are more fun, but as a daily driver for work, they are terrible. So what do you guys think. Is this a trend that Manuals could disappear from the roads of North America in the near future or will they survive but only in select performance based auto's or what? Sound Off
  6. Inductive charging is already available now so I can see small rural towns having their own pads in their driveway allowing charging of their auto and at the same time when needed pulling power from the car during a storm that takes out power. Has to start somewhere and with BOLT and about a year after Chevy Nissan having Gen 2 Leaf with a 200+ mile battery also, I think we will see more EV auto's in the next 18-24 months. Tesla will also help this grow with the T3.
  7. This is one AWESOME Dodge Dart! http://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/enthusiasts/a-daring-dodge-dart-for-the-win/ar-BBrrXZa?li=BBnb4R5&ocid=UP94DHP#image=BBrrSXM|1
  8. That is a very sexy car and I love the disco era. Course I grew up in it poking holes in the sky!
  9. Very Cool about looking at options, but interesting the point he makes about the super low emissions on the Bi-Turbo V8 compared to BMW going to I6 turbo. Interesting,
  10. This isn't Alfa Romeo. Jeep at least has a much better track record. Very True, But Sergio can still mess it up.
  11. Kicking off since I did not see an April Car spotting thread. Was over picking up my Durango as the Trans needed rebuilding. I got 223,000 miles on it before I had to rebuild it. Saw this Cherry of a Buick at the shop.
  12. Bolt advertised 200 miles and then GM clearly states that the battery takes 9hrs to fully charge at 25 miles per hour so the battery is really a 225 mile range battery. Tesla states 215 miles but has not stated anything else about actual charging time or amount of miles per charge. Yes I know you say you do not like any EV but that the BOLT is less desirable so you imply the Tesla is, so you like the tesla more than the bolt. The reader is the one who will be left with the implied meaning based on how one writes their words.
  13. Hopefully the truck and suv lines can pick up the folks. Sucks to be laid off.
  14. Easy, while the Journey is nice, I would rather own a GMC Terrain.
  15. I understand the points you are stating and no one would compare an ATS to the Focus. The point I am making is that the Tesla 3 is a compact RWD Sedan EV and the BOLT is a Compact FWD CUV EV. Right now the Tesla is NOT the cheaper of the two as they will not have any fed discount.Yes the BOLT will have some options but for the most part GM has said it would be pretty much loaded from the start $37,500 or $30,000 with fed discount. Tesla 3 on the other hand will be stripped at $35,000 and you option it up to $45,000 from the info they have released. Also no where do I read that GM is only making this as a compliance car. The BOLT is what forced Tesla's hand to finally deliver the model 3 after years of delays and GM has forced Nissan to move up their Generation 2 Leaf that will have between a 200- 250 mile battery. How do you figure this is compliance only and not game changer when others are responding with like auto's in range and pure EV powertrain? Nissan and Toyota never built out any infrastructure and while Tesla Supercharge locations are stated as being available to everyone, I know that the locations in Seattle are clearly marked as Tesla owners only. So I have not seen any true public infrastructure by Tesla. Now yes West Coast is ahead of much of the US in terms of building out public charging setups but that has not stopped many other auto companies from building or announcing EV's that are coming. So this takes away your Compliance issue also. Tesla is a Niche Player that is growing much like Apple, but their are far more people who do not use Apple and there will be far more people that will not use Tesla for various reasons. You like Tesla 3 style, Great go for buying one and enjoy supporting an American Auto company. I like BOLT style and will support another great American auto company. Either way America wins.
  16. Not unexpected and since Sergio is not bothering to invest the profits back into making dodge, ram, jeep and chrysler better, he is wasting it on Alfa and Fiat. Yes I have complained about him before, Hopeful the company employees and stock holders will revolt against him.
  17. I have to say that the 300 even with a V6 is a great cruiser and still very fun to drive. Snow is NOT a problem with the 300. It is heavy enough to stay very stable if you only go RWD. The V6 with 8 speed tranny in base AWD form, added the convenience group and the sky roof is a nice clean package. You could not go wrong.
  18. I would think the easiest at this time would be a buy back of all affected auto's. VW needs to get this behind them as it is really affecting their sales and image. Trash the image to a point that recovery will be near impossible or just one long ass expensive time frame. Just look at what the American Auto industry has done and how hard it has been to recover and rebuild that image.
  19. -1 So your post is totally confusing! No one has tried to hide anything. Yes Tesla 3 is a RWD and the Chevy BOLT is FWD. Neither auto is out yet and so there is no way to really JUDGE either one. Nether auto is excellent or good. They are exciting but then all new technology is. If FWD is so bad then I guess Audi and all the others that build FWD auto's build terrible products. FWD has NOT stopped the world from buying an auto and FWD versus RWD is more a preference than one being superior over another. Who ever was defending the bolt as a poor seller? The auto is not even available for sale yet. I do think GM could have done a presale of the BOLT, not sure how many would plunk down $1000 for one but I do like the idea of getting customer commitment. In regards to the coming off federal tax credit. Tesla is forced to as they have almost already approached their 200,000 allotment. So why should GM or others also not have the same use case. For transparency, then all need to be treated equal and have the same benefit of using the fed deduction. How do you know the BOLT is not desirable? I know many who desire the BOLT and cannot stand the ugly jelly bean steril Tesla. So you are trying to make your own feelings into statements of fact which is also not valid. In regards to throwing in the Kitchen sink. I think this is a smart way for GM to build their first long range EV. Build it with all the desired bells and whistles that people want. Why nickel and dime them to death like Tesla is doing. Build it complete with everything from the start and state the single price of the auto. I think most people will be happy to buy it as is. Volt is a great solution but still burns petrol, for those that want a petrol free auto, the BOLT or Tesla 3 will be a good choice. Here are the videos of the drives they did at the Tesla Event.
  20. Thinking more on this, I suspect with all the China auto companies we will see a boom of companies and then a death of a ton as the industry consolidates to the biggest most solid ones.
  21. that is what PSA has to offer in auto style. The French know nothing of auto style and nothing that company builds offers anything the US would want. Plus they screwed over auto owners the last time they were in the US. Best to let the company die and be a history note in a book. The US and world still has way too many auto companies and a consolidation is still needed.
  22. CNET has an awesome write up by a reporter that has driven both the BOLT and the Tesla 3 and he is very positive on both. This drives home the LoveFest as he calls it of the two auto's and that Musk probably does not see the BOLT as a competitor to his Tesla 3 as he is known to support getting more EVs out to the public. It is an interesting piece for sure. I think many of us agree that the BOLT will come fully loaded with minimal if not no options. This compared to the Tesla 3 that will have options and retail much higher than the BOLT. Currently Tesla is on track to cross the 200,000 EVs sold by spring of next year which means there will be NO Federal Incentive for the Tesla 3. This car will sell for more than the BOLT. I am interested in seeing the Real World driving tests as you know the auto Magazines are going to compare and test against each other the Bolt to the 3 and declare a winner even though this is an apple to orange comparison. I will say that GM needs to also list out all the incentive benefits available for auto purchases like Tesla Does: EV Incentives Thought I do see this is not updated as they do not have the Washington state listed with it's free Chargers in homes.
  23. Hahaha well it will only be to the douchy posts..and once a day..tops..because a douche bitched and wined about it because his internet feelings got hurted...from a little "-1". So then the little DOUCHE is BallLess! After all this country was created on Debate, freedom of speech for all. So if you cannot handle the heat get out of the Kitchen McFly!
  24. Bummer, I would love to see what you built but cannot for some strange reason.
