BTW SMK why is it that you troll this forum? I'd think you'd fit in better on a Benz site

And which other maker offers a few versions of the Escalade in their mix? Hell Caddy is a 3 car make at this moment and only CTS is a true car. Caddys MPG looks damn good in this light.

  5. I nor the wife knew about it till the news

  7. After a forth look I see what you mean WRT the nose I think it has to do with the lack of size in the lighting system. With the narrowness of the light module it opens up the face in a greater proportion than we've seen since the eighty's that and the fact that this is a wide car (as should be). I sure see the Eldorado in this concept and pray when brought to market it's NOT given a three letter alphic name by then Caddy should have been done with the naming system and moved on to actual names that mean something. This really kinda irks me Caddys used to be named with Spanish names & Buick used French names right?
  8. Hope you guys made it through OK my sis is in Tuscon & a cuz in Phoenix. I just heard that the wind got to 60-65mph thats crazy getting close to a F1 tornado and in the upper end of a F0. Hope all went well they said that all power was restored by 11:00pm 8/18/11. Thinking of you guys and quit washing the car don't ya know that must be the trigger for those things

  13. Ocn ya sound a bit more banged up than I first read hope you heal up fast. On a bad note my best friend called this morn & short story is his oldest(30's) daughter was in a bike wreck ended up with a shattered femur and lost her leg below the knee. I've known her since she was 5 it's like my kid had this happen. You were blessed and so was she, she has kids. Get well live like there's no tomorrow and let us know your choice on the replacement car. Best wishes Rick
  14. I never felt that Olds was the BOAT Division that was the "my son the Dr.'s" Buick. Olds were always tighter more like Pontiac in their handling. That's why I moved to Olds Lux like a Buick handling like Pontiac w/o all the flashieness less money than a Buick better than Chevy(my first love). I realy wish GM would bring the Zeta's to Chevy long & short WB Wagon & Ute add a Vert Coupe. Not everyone wants an appliance in white with a gray interior. The engines even the v6's will be snappy a good size diesel manual or dual clutch auto would make people forget its not a V8(as would the mpg;-). We harp & moan about this but what do they think will get people who were accustomed to B bodys Lincoln's... that moved on to SUV's while cars got to be smaller FWD & weak (as opposed to truck based products) while the SUV's grew & added all the Lux they wanted in a car. The 1 thing I think that will be hard to wean from these buyers is the height or the illusion there of. Back on topic GM's full size cars held on to their sportiness after the downsizing while the others didn't though the LTD/Crown Vic was good on the skidpad they just looked quite generic Fullsize in their presentation.
  15. Big and sporty are not exclusive of each other Imp SS, FS Grand Prix's, Can Am's or Grand Am's(Colonnades) Executive's, 88's,Wildcats love em all. I like those 88 coupes like you found about the best out of the late mod F/S RWD's The roof line was better than the Impala landau coupe it would be great with the divisional 403cid

  21. VW sure is quite close to GM looks like they're on track, Hope GM can stave them off!
  22. I agree on all counts Olds But I think the article is a skewed bit of propaganda to make people feel good about either choosing a 4 pot or being forced into the lesser engines by the manufacturers Chevy,Hyundia... all for the CAFE standards. Not being a V8 only guy but loved a certain flat six, turbo Ecotec, 3800 3500 & 3900's I like what I like even I3's. No one is being forced into anything. If you want 300hp+, it's out there... in a family cars even. General consumers are choosing the 4-cylinder of their own volition... and finding that it suits their needs. I think there is a bit of distorted nostalgia going on in here. In the 60's most cars weren't Impala SSes. The biggest sellers were typically the I-6es and small V8s. Olds you misread me I believe, are you telling me that I could buy a Malabu with a 3.6l V6? that' what I mean. I think I remember you saying that they should sell what we want, you know give the customer what they want and the car was engineered for a v6. If I align myself with Chevy why should I be saddled with a poor preforming no option offered model? Oh go buy the Buick to get the v6 some would say. Me I've lost 1 division and am not looking to shop for a new one again. Chevy was my first and it looks like I'll come home home with her. BTW the distortion is that SS'es were all V8's but you could have an Impala or Chevelle SS with a I6 or any tranny fact is the Chevelle's had quite a few I6's less in Impalla's but I've touched 3or4 myself. Novas could be had with I4's but I6 & up on SS. the notion that all SS'es were big blocks or fuel injected small blocks is wishful thinking or sometimers disease. I like the powerful 4's but offer options even I3's should be made hell I'm a big fan of cars like GEO Metro or Ford Aspire, Subbie Justy(try to even find one they had a CVT). I drove quite a few 110hp powerglide Corvairs so power isn't everything for me in all cars. The article was skewed maybe from my flawed thinking but but this isn't politics and I don't want to go there I respect you and your Ideas but don't subscribe to all of them just some We're close on cars wide on politics and I value your input it makes me think & I like intelligent friends.
  23. This would make a fun daily driver with the manual. Now if I only made a paycheck
