  1. I couldn't do anything for the last 10 minutes.
  2. ......junior high and high school all over again.......
  3. I got to snap a couple pics of the new truck after church this morning. I drove it for a while last night. Having been the first time I've spent some quality time in these new trucks, I found a lot of things that impressed me. The added power can be felt, and the new interior is light years ahead of the 800's. I know it will stand up to whatever gets thrown at it. The 170 degree rear doors and the rear seat that folds up flatter than it did in the 800s will definitely come in handy when throwing stuff in the back. The pickup also has a couple of neat options that my dad did not mention, the curtain airbags all around, which I hope never need to be used, and the EZ lift tailgate. My mom definitely liked the EZ lift, but I left the tailgate open last night for a while and it bounces around like mad when you go over a bump. The only time I can think that it may be a problem is when the 4-wheeler is in back, which is a little too long to let the tailgate close. I'm sure it can be tied up with the 4-wheeler somehow though.
  4. I pay like 6K a year. Sounds like I am getting ripped off compared to what you guys are paying :AH-HA_wink: I use the Wellness center on campus. They just opened a new addition to it this fall. There is plenty of room now, and always an open machine to use. So it works well. I hated going there before they added on, so I took a job reffing basketball at the Y on random Saturdays during the winter. Didn't pay much but I got to go work out for free at either the downtown Y or Y west. They Y west is brand new, but still nothing special. I like the crowd that hangs out there certain times of the day, being a college age guy and all. I don't need much when it comes to working out. Some free weights and a track to run on are usually all I need, so I don't see the need to seek out anything else.
  5. A couple weeks ago, there was a little accident on the farm. One of the guys we have working for harvest sideswiped my dads 04 Silverado with a piece of equipment. Destroyed the whole driver side of the pickup. The insurance company totalled it. Hopefully tomorrow my dad will be picking up a 2008 Silverado LT1. Optioned for the 5.3, the 3.73, and trailering package. Nothing too special, but will be much nicer than his 04 Silv. LS. If he gets it tomorrow I will try to snap a few pics.
  6. Neat. I have had Sirius for a few months now and I can't imagine not having it. It is so nice not to have to worry about finding new radio stations when you set out on a venture, and you can always find something you like. I'm glad the rest of the world can have it to.
  7. Kids don't know any better sometimes.
  8. I would say most all of them do, unless it is a tiny little Motorcycle
  9. Except that you don't have to lose your steering wheel controls. Just another harness. Most aftermarket radios come with a remote as well.
  10. Don't forget that as these cars become more and more integrated, it is going to cost more time and more money to change anything about the audio system. Some people aren't happy with crappy paper Delco speakers. Bose? Give me a break. It sounds decent, but not anywhere near where I or many others would like it to be. You wouldn't believe all the trouble I had to go through to upgrade my Impala's audio system. Even with buying special, expensive wiring harnesses, I still lost my door chime. My Suburban was such a pain that I ended up just adding a iPod adapter and not messing with the rest. I wouldn't mind integration if they would put in a couple of pre-outs for a subwoofer and a 4 channel amp, and put in a decent equalizer. Do you know how much better any audio system can sound with simply a 5 or 7 band equalizer in it rather than a 2 or 3 channel? Hell, the early 90's Chevy pickups have a 5 band in them. Late 90s Pontiacs had a 7 band in some vehicles. Why shouldn't every vehicle have something like that in it. Adding just a couple of these little things to these new integrated radios would make a lot of Music lover's day.
  11. The GM black tie radio is the radio that is in basically every new GM product out right now.
  12. If you were to come across one for 17ish with that few miles again, it seems like it would be a decent deal, considering you would be getting a basically new vehicle for a few grand less than new. What does a base Torrent have in it for an engine? 3.4? I would bet you COULD pull a small popup, if they are as light of a trailer as I imagine them to be, but it would probably struggle quite a bit. I guess if they put a trailer package on it, it must be able to pull something... I really don't know much about these vehicles as I have never been in the market for something like it. Best of luck in the hunt.

    TiVo

That makes a lot of sense. I would really hate to have it for a while and THEN wish I had a larger HD.

    TiVo

I'm not.....but what is the advantage of a Myth? Would it be worth seeking out someone to help me out with it?

    TiVo

So you were a lot happier with the way Tivo worked then? A easy to use interface would be enough to make me want to simply get a Tivo and not switch to something else with a DVR.

    TiVo

Is your new 80 hour big enough for you? I'm sure it seems like a lot after the 13 hr, but do you ever fill it up? I was looking on weaknees and they offer a 180 hour for 200, but I'm not sure I need all of that. I also heard that when a DVR gets closer to full, it tends to act sluggish when you are rewinding and such. I figure a bigger hard drive would solve that, but maybe that isn't an issue.

    TiVo

I need a DVR...I am not home during the primetime TV hours and would love to still keep up with a few of the shows that are on. Getting a DVR from my cable provider isn't a possibility because that would mean I would have to move up to digital cable. Meaning that I would owe the the cable company about 40 bucks more a month after box rental and all the jazz. Not worth it just for the DVR because I would only watch maybe one or two of the extra channels. My only answers would maybe be moving to DirecTV with a DVR for like 25 bucks more a month (a lot more channels and a little better quality) or I could simply get a TiVo at $13 a month if I commited to a 3 year contract. The commitment is not the problem as I will probably never go back to not having a DVR once I have one. Here is the question...anyone have TiVo?
  18. I would guess that no, they won't. I would bet it will be a fixed piece of glass. Would look better that way anyway.
  19. How can you make out anything through that camo there Debbie Downer?

    Hail

Pea size is too small to put dents in anything, but I have seen nickel size put small door ding type dents into the tops of cars. It's when you get bigger than nickel that you start seeing real damage. Golf ball size can do real damage. I saw an area after grapefruit sized hail. That destroyed houses, siding, roofs, windows, and needless to say many vehicles. Hail can destroy crops very easily as well with something as small as quarter size. Must be our weather here in ND and MN because there isn't a summer that goes by that I don't see or hear about at least golf ball size dropping somewhere, and not unusual to hear about even bigger than that.
  21. Very nice NOS...but didn't you put different wheels on it?

Between my aunts and uncles and cousins we have every GM brand covered except for Saab. Its a lot of fun. Only non GM vehicles I can think of are 2 of my uncles an 06 Special Edition PT Cruiser. He loves PTs for some reason. The one he owns now is turbo'd and has a stick, so it's someone fun. He also has an 06 300C. Other than that its all GM
