  1. First of all, very nice snowmobile. I've always been a Polaris man. Haven't invested in anything as new as yours since I mostly rent when I make mountain trips, but if we end up getting some more snow on top of the about foot of what is now ice up here, I might just pull the trigger. We just haven't had enough snow around here to make it worth it in the past few years. As for hanging it off the tailgate, I would do the same thing in a second. The majority of the weight is up front in a snowmobile anyway. Even if it wasn't it wouldn't be a big deal for a real truck.
  2. HOLY hell you just creeped the $h! out of me. I'm a hardcore believer in this stuff and everything that you have said seems logical.
  3. Wow, I have done stereos in quite a few cars, and this is the first time I have run into a battery not in the engine compartment. It makes electrical work a breeze. I'm suprised to hear about all the others that do as well.
  4. A family friend of ours just got an Enclave before Christmas. He wanted to upgrade the speakers so we tore it apart today and put in new speakers all the way around and a new 4 channel amp. Infinity Kappa Perfect Components and an MTX 4-channel for anyone who knows or cares about audio. Let me first say that everything I took apart was put together VERY well. Better than any vehicle I've done stereo work in fact. Kudos GM. As is the trend, the electronics are more complex than anything else I've worked in, but after a couple hours of rewiring, bypassing the factory amp, and some troubleshooting after that with my buddy who works at a local car audio dealer, we got everything working. It sounds perfect now. Weirdest thing I came across was the fact that the battery is not under the hood, back in front of the second row seats in the floor. Something I have never dealt with, but it made it very easy to add an amp, mostly because you don't have to run the amp lead through the firewall, and also because you don't have to run the lead nearly as far. I did a search about the battery location after we were done. Apparently they say it adds to the Lambdas low center of gravity despite their size and frees up room in the engine compartment. They also ran remote battery leads to the engine compartment for jump starting. Just found that interesting.
  5. Very nice....LOVE those wheels on there.
  6. Possibly, they didn't look Sebring sized, so that might be something. I would have loved to grab some pics, but I was headed the opposite way going 80mph, so it would have been tough....I thought about turning around and following, but I needed to get back home.
  7. Maybe, but they seemed bigger than that. If so, they got rid of that stupid little black plastic triangle that is supposed to make it look like the glass continues behind the rear glass. I'm guessing this was cold weather testing, but would they have to do that just for refreshing the Sebring?
  8. This morning at about 8am I was on I29 heading south between the Canadian border and Grand Forks heading back to Fargo. Just north of Grand Forks I noticed a Charger, a 300, and too matching Aspens heading toward Canada. I thought it just could have been a coincidence but not a half mile later I saw two matching camo'd SUVs tagged by a 4 door Wrangler. Both these vehicles were a little smaller than a Durango it seemed...I'm guessing they were Journeys, but I don't know. They were under light camo, just the front fascia and the back hatch seemed to be covered. About a mile later I saw a Caravan, followed by what was unmistakably a Challenger under complete camo followed by a Charger and a 300. Now here is the confusing part. About 5 miles later, just as I was getting into Grand Forks and I spot 2 matching Caravans and behind that 2 matching camo'd full size sedans. They whole front and back along with the bottom part of the doors were camo'd. The greenhouse was not, so that is what I have to go off of, but the greenhouse on both looked strikingly like a Maxima, and they were probably both the size of a Maxima as well. What the heck could these vehicles be? There aren't many testing vehicles up in this neck of the woods, so they most have been with the Chrysler crew. Maybe Chris has an idea.
  9. I'll never buy one. I'm sure I'm not in the minority. Here at C&G possibly, but not when compared with the car buying public.

    2 movies

I saw Juno last night. Good story, funny, definately recommended.
  11. Hardly anyone knows what Mills Fleet Farm is in here and I have never seen a ricer wing there haha.
  12. My dream is the drop a 351 Cleveland into the '69. Hopefully with a little help I could get it running perfectly.
  13. I didn't snap any pics but I did some web searching and this is the closest I found. The one of the left is his car basically, except the two tone is opposite and his is more of a orangy-maroon rather than red. It doesn't have the hood scoop either. Instead he has a nicely bulged hood that starts the bulge near the front of the hood and runs all they way back. The two-tone switched around makes a ton of difference as it looks great with the black leather wrapped roll bar when the top is down and with the black top when the top is up. It's one sweet ride.
  14. Also, what makes me telling you that he is 62 significant: He owned a 67 Shelby GT 500 Mustang back in 67, got rid of it in 69 (Only if he had known what he had back then). He always wanted another Mustang, but could never really justify it. So....the license plate on the new one reads "NOWRNVR".....perfect
  15. My 62 year old uncle made a new purchase about a month ago I found out. We don't see them too much do I didn't hear about it until we were at their house for Christmas this evening. He picked up a 2007 Foose Mustang convertible. Roush supercharger and everything on it, so it scoots. I know we are all GM guys here for the most part, but you have to appreciate this ride. I really wish I would have had a camera with so that I could have snapped some pics. It is black on top, and cinnamon on the bottom (a mix of orange and maroon). Foose wheels, revised front and rear fascia, new hood, roll bar. Maybe you guys don't think it is as cool as me. I'm a mustang guy at heart even though I am a GM fan. I have a 69 Mustang sitting in a shed on our farm waiting for the time and funds to make it what it used to be. It was my dads when he was in high school, and he gave it to me when I got my license. It has never really ran right so it sits, waiting for me to do something with it someday. It's not in that bad of shape and really just needs a new motor, but if I'm going to do the motor, I'm going to do the rear end, and the tranny, and the wheels, and the tires, and the exhaust and so on and so forth. It is just a lot of little things that pile on top of each other. Maybe I should send in a entry to overhaulin'. Wouldn't it be neat to have a 69 and a 07 both done by Chip? It might just get me on the show. Anyway that is my rant for this early morning...sorry.
  16. Mobil 1. It goes on sale a few times a year so usually buy 5-6 cases when I notice it's on sale somewhere. Try to change it every 5-6000 in the Impala since it is mostly highway driving, and every 3-4000 on the Suburban since it is usually working hard. My Impala has 117K on it and uses close to no oil. It has had Mobil 1 in it since it's first oil change back when my uncle owned it.
  17. I would buy an H3 if I didn't need as much towing ability as I do. I am already towing at the capabilities on my Suburban, so I couldn't go much smaller. It is a damn cool looking SUV, you are right, and they aren't a dime a dozen like the Tahoe and Suburban. If you think you want one, go for it. Don't listen to what everyone says if you want one. You bought an Aztek for gosh sakes (no offense, I don't mind the Aztek) so obviously you don't really care what everyone else thinks.
  18. Great pics Bob. I wish you the best with the new job, and hope to see you back sooner rather than later.
  19. I've used a Garmin and have played with a TomTom and while they are both great units I preferred the TomTom's ease of use. I saw a commercial for a Navigon portable unit the other day. Go to their website and check those out. The maps are pretty neat. I wish I could help you more.
  20. I spent a few weeks in St. Louis around Christmas time a few years ago. It doesn't matter how good of a driver you are, you should not be on the roads around there when it snows. People have NO IDEA what they are doing on slick roads. About an inch fell and there were people running off the road and in to eachother everywhere. I can only imagine that Oklahoma would be worse.
  21. I have been hearing about your winter down there Mustang, and it has been a crazy one. A friend of mine from here in ND goes to school at Drake so he has been bitching about the ice to me for a couple weeks now. Luckily it has been all snow up here, which is out of the ordinary for us as well. There hasn't been a brown Christmas up here that I can ever remember but usually there is only a dusting on the ground. As of now we have about a foot on the ground throughout the Valley. I don't think we have had that much snow on the ground at one time in at least the last 5 years. The last big snow year that I can remember is 97. That year we got something like 160 inches. Insanity. 2000 was a decent snow year as well. I'm enjoying it for the most part so far up here, but i definately know what it is like to have a November/December full or freezing rain for the most part. It almost gets depressing after a while. Best of luck to you getting around.
  22. And I should be able to be fitted anywhere that sells clubs for the most part?

    Golfers.

Well, I don't know if there is a big golfing community in here or not, but I am looking for a new set before summer. My hand me down set of Taylor Mades that my dad gave to me when I started back in the late 90s are showing their age. I love those clubs, but I lost my 8 iron last summer and the face on my 5 iron is almost worn away. I don't golf a ton, so I am kind of shopping on a budget. I want to stick with a well known name brand, and would like to stick to graphite shafts. Other than that I am open for anything. I wouldn't be opposed to a used set if you thought I could find one in good shape somewhere. Especially if it is going to give me more bang for my buck. They aren't going to stay shiny forever. I'm looking to spend about 300-500 all said and done. I have the driver and putter covered, but am looking for 3-PW at least and a 3 wood, along with a 5 wood possibly. Anyone have any suggestions?
  24. Well, the roads are still $h!ty in places here even a week after getting a foot of snow. They waited until there was a few inches on all the roads before they decided to start plowing so everything is still covered with a layer of snow/ice. On Friday afternoon I came across a Trailblazer upside down in the median of I29. It must have happened just before I got there because they were just climbing out. I stopped and went down there since I'm a first responder. OnStar had an ambulance on the way for the one girl in the back seat who hit her head pretty good, but everyone was alright. They came and waited in the Suburban with me since it was damn near 10 below until the Ambulance and wrecker arrived. Just glad everyone was ok. Besides that, I saw a mid 90s Explorer, a late 90s Grand Prix, a 300C, and a mid 90s Tacoma that had gotten a little off the roadway and had the snow pull them into the ditch. Plenty of tracks in the snow where people have gone in though. Almost one every mile or so on I29 going north.
  25. As you would have most likely guessed. I approve.
