  1. I have 3 models that I like. The very 1st one that I saw in a Car and Driver mag and they tested a Corvette C4 that was legally transformed to be driven in Japan and the R33. Then a few years went by I learned about the successor to the R33....the R34. I preferred the R33 but I was into the R34 as well. Then the internet happened in my household and I researched its history when I fell in love with the 3rd gen Skyline. The generation just before the one you like.
  2. True. But those and so-called Godzilla aint exactly what "real" Skylines are all about. Godzilla tries to pass off as such, and the Teriyaki and Sushi rice burner boy fan club likes to think so But nope! Godzilla is an artificial, Playstation/Nintendo/X Box like muscle car. Those Infiniti cars are GORGEOUS, but they got no bite. Metrosexual like if we are gonna go the Skyline replacement route for them. A tad better than what the late 70s and 3rd gen Camaros were in relative to what originated. But on the same level...ie. Shadow of their former selves!
  3. Yes. In disbelief. One wonders on how one could be soooo...odd???!!! Hey Mr. Blu Venkman...(Peter's long lost cousin)
  4. I wanted to say this.... But I did not know how to say it...without the post being a 2 book/part novel. You kept it nice and short and To. The. Point. Bra...vo!
  5. Lost in translation is what I think was the problem with this car. It dont really matter on what platform FoMoCo decided to do this car on .... What done this car in is that the car, did not keep the showcar quality dazzling details. There are a plenty. The stance. Longer wheelbase. I think the Edge is on the same platform, right? And I think the Edge might have a longer wheelbase, right? So what gives? The pristine and tight tolerances and the luxury car details. Concept down below. Look at the hood. THAT hood and front area SCREAMS luxury. Tight tolerance. The hood closure is sealed shut and is one with the whole top front end. The bottom chrome trim. The back wheel arches have a certain presence with that bulge. Muscular. Just impeccable luxurious details. What we got. And front end hood and area that is the same as in a Ford Fusion. No cleaned up chrome trim on the bottom. (That chrome trim was a helluva nice touch in my opinion.) No bulge at the rear wheel wells. The actual production car just seems like a very ordinary ride. The production car we got should have been the MKZ... Which low and behold...is what the MKZ actually is...(at least in the Continental and on the Fusion the hood area is more smoother...) Had the Continental we got be exactly like the concept, Lincoln would have had a hit on their hands...instead, it was just a more expensive MKZ (for nothing) which in turn is a more expensive Ford Fusion... Not good! (For the Continental and the Continental name plate...)
  6. Yeah...I know! I was being sarcastic with the Lexus bullet proof comment. I also know the Mustang IS bullet proof!!! But my Fusion unfortunately does have these recalls. In reality though, my wife and I are NOT upset with these recalls. Just tired of them...
  7. The two posts above made by me are NOT to be taken seriously. Its just me being me. The opinions in those posts DO have truth to them and the posts DO reflect how I feel....its just that the post content is taken to the extreme. For drama and comedic effect. Please move along. There is really nothing to see or read here.
  8. Not Lexus bullet proof... And if its anything like its Fusion brother...Id be worried about the many recalls... Yes yes....my wife's Fusion has yet another recall. Something about the 1.6 liter ecoboost engine needed to be sensorized so that Id know low coolant was to happen, it would advise me so iI would do something about it so the gaskets could stay leak proof so they wont leak and start a FIRE!!! Or something like that! Yes yes...the 1.6 liter ecoboost is still prone to fires apparently... The last recall on the car regarding that was for Ford technicians to test out the engine to see if there may be a problem for the gaskets to fail or something or other. They re-enforced what they had to re-enforce and that was that. Plus...I read that 2013-2015 Fusions steering may come undone and cause accidents. I dont have a recall on it by Ford of Canada, but I know one is coming...soon... http://www.autonet.ca/fr/2018/03/14/ford-rappelle-138-million-de-voitures-pour-un-probleme-de-volant Its in French...google translate is there for ya'll...
  9. I see little love for this car in this thread and I see a lot of...well...not so nice things said about it. This is what makes makes us humans unique in that we all like different things... Well...to the people who dont particularly like the looks of this car... Ya'll wrong and crazy for not liking it. The car is sleek. Yes it has weird lines to it. The car is sleek non-the-less. And to my eyes at least...gorgeous as phoque! About those lines. At least the LC500 does not look like the same ol, same ol garbage like other luxury coupes. Driving those other lux coupes gets you lost in the shuffle. I understand that sometimes buyers in this realm want to fly low... These are weenies in my opinion. Hypocrites even. Dont want to flash the cash yet drive $150 000-$300 000 lux coupes... If these people wouldnt want to flash the cash they be driving mud riddled F-150s. So...please spare me the excuses. I understand the lines maybe too funky for you, which is fine. Point taken. But that tells me is you might be one boring ass individual. Life of the party you are NOT! Balthy does bring up a good point in that the fit and finish may not be on par and with what Lexus is asking for a price tag for one. THAT is the ONLY criticism I accept! On to the next criticism...If the V8 under the hood does not do it for you...because you deem it anemic. 2 words for you: LS swap! The price the LC500 costs, Im sure one that wants one could pony up 20 000 or so for a Chevy LS crate motor that is turn key! Not worth the money? Aside from the fit and finish argument. this is in a realm of where "who gives a shyte" what it costs! This is in a realm where the phoquing car is unique. And in MY world, toeing the line and conforming to the norm is NOT what I do! I applaud different. I applaud unique. I applaud sexiness and flaunting that sexiness. So...there is my more than 2 cents on the matter! I freaking LOVE this car! I saw it at the Montreal Auto Show last January and its even better looking up close and personal. And yes. many people were gawking at it. Of all ages and races and colour. And sexes...
  10. My feelings exactly. I see my partner's Model S everyday. I have Fallen out of love with it. I do love the motors and the battery tech the Model S P100D has. I want to know more about what the new roadster motors and batteries could do, but as far as the Model S' looks go, I feel like "long in the tooth" is too nice of a statement. Its dated styling is what it is really!
  11. I havent seen one Continental yet in La Belle Province....and I live here! Probably the only one sold in Quebec you saw...Id buy lottery tickets if I were you! And yes...I am happy that you get to visit our Province from time to time. Mont Tremblant is such a great place. You dont even have to ski. Just take in the sights and sounds of the place. (bars and restaurants and quite expensive boutiques...)
  12. A-10 Warthog. I liked this airplane in the 1980s. I never saw clips of what it could do back then. I just used my imagination when I read the descriptions of its purpose and roles in warfare. I knew what a Gatling gun is/was...I knew what it could do. I read tales about it for when it cut down soldiers during the American Civil War with ease so I kinda had an idea what destruction the A-10 would be doing 120 years later (through a1980s POV) with a much improved and steriod induced Gatling would do.... I always that she was a beautiful bird.... But, F-16s and F-4 Phantoms and MiG-29s and F-15s and MiG 25s and Dassault Mirage 2000s were what my dreams were made of back then non-the less... I just saw this clip Just to say...that the A-10 just shot up my favorite modern airplanes list to make it to the top 10...possibly top 5...
  13. Thanx! Or so you assume? You being coy? Im willing to bet you used to go wild in da clubs with the untz untz untz beats back in da day! I worked on my musical repertoire early on and as the years went by, I just grew my preference....up until the 2000s. That is when I just decided stop there. Classical music as in Chopin and Bach and stuff. 1950s rock. Rock-a-billy and blues and a tad of jazz. 1960s pop and soul and surf and psychedelic and mostly everything that came out in the 60s I like. 1970s rock. Disco. Some punk. a lot of funky 70s music I like. 1980s synth and rock and pop and punk and alternative and all kinds of weird shyte from the 1980s I like. Rap and hip hop old skool 80s I dig very much! 1990s eurodance and rock. Some grunge....SOME grunge. Not all grunge. I guess the 1990s pop was OK for me to listen too back then. Early 1990s hip hop and rap I liked then. Not the stuff that came out from the mid 1990s to today. And that is it. I decided to stop there. I look for new music today, but its mostly the sounds that resemble what I mentioned above that I look for in today's music. But define Nah! I dont think so. I appreciate your insights! You and Frisky are the reasons why I might continue to still post here from time to time.
  14. I came across this tune a couple of nights ago. It is stuck in my head for 2 days going on 3. I knew it was straight from the 80s. Dont remember it. Quite possibly I never knew it... One thing is for sure, I dont know the band. I just think its the coolest song that Ive heard in a while... I googled and youtubed to listen to other songs they had. Apparently this next one was a huge hit. Their biggest. I dont remember this song either. Alls I know is I like the video. Yup...I would have been rockin' to this song (and video) as a teenager in the mid 80s for sure... Glam rock. Hair metal bands. Rocker chicks of the 80s...I miss those times (Well...its more like the songs I miss...) and yes Balthy...I do miss those 1980s alternative/euro-italo disco funky 80s tunes too...I miss those just as much.
  15. A thread about cars you used to not like and now like. Or. About cars you used to like but now dont like. I felt I needed to come back and write about a car. This is more written for @Frisky Dingo as we go back a long time and I felt I needed to tell him that as of today, I like the McLaren F1. I didnt like this car then, but I stumbled on Jay Leno's garage and instantly, I have feelings for it. Enough for me to try and buy a 1:18 scale of it to add it to my collection. I didnt need Jay Leno to tell me all that as I KNEW what the McLaren was all about... What I did NOT know was that it won Lemans 24 hours in 1995. I knew that....what I did not know that it was the ROAD car that won it. A few mods....but it was essentially the ROAD car...a CIVILIAN model. That was bought at a dealership with a few mods to race and compete and ultimately win. Not a RACE version of a road car. THE road car itself. WOW! Instant love! I'm still working on liking BMWs....no promise there Frisky! I still need time! Liking BMWs is....is...hard. Feel free to discuss and this car or others you have had a change of heart in. I may be back. I may not.
  16. In all seriousness. Ill move on when the trolling stops. No. Really. I did not see you tell CCAP to move on when he BLATANTLY trolled me. In all seriousness...YOU even laughed. Irony....CCAP talks about the how down voting should not affect people, how it does not affect him. Sees that I down voted him....ACKNOWLEDGED the down vote...and then proceeds to tell me his trolling me must hurt me... You dont see the hypocrisy in that? I point that hypocrisy out time and time again... But here we are... Seriously though. Its just a couple of songs. You could take those songs one of two ways. 1. as trolling back defending myself 2. as a joke to laugh. Its interesting as YOU chose to see it as trolling. Its interesting to see that CCAP's post to me was blatant trolling and yet YOU chose to see it as a joke. Its interesting to see that you chose to see MY post as trolling... Seriously... The moving on will happen when YOU decide to move on from it... How did you think this would turn out by you telling me to move on? YOU laugh at the trolling post HE makes at me...signaling to me YOU are laughing with him at me... It OK...I could take that. Im a grown ass man. Laughing with you. Hence the song...cuts like a knife but it feels so right... Then I proceed to tell him (and you) that no...your trolling me does not bother me, it does not affect me and I feel the same way about it as both of you. Love hurts as we have this special bond in these forums all of us... But then here we are...you telling me to move. So...you were actually agreeing to the egging on... So...what about you...did you move on? Are you gonna apologize to me for laughing at me? For egging him on? I didnt think so... So take this post how you want to. The moving on will happen as soon as you let it go...
  17. Arent glaciers floating on the water? Arent glaciers just ice? Doesnt ice contain the same amount of water displacement as regular water so when ice melts, it just displaces the same amount of water? Therefore we arent getting more water, right? This has to do more with density, right? Im assuming regular water is more dense than ice as ice floats. OK...with that being said...ice melting is just frozen water...ice in liquid form... what? When bodies of water are flowing it is possible for water to be at freezing temperatures but it aint becoming ice as there is movement so with that being said, as the glaciers melt, the surrounding water and the melting glaciers are becoming the same temperature...at which point will eventually warm up as that area of water now is travelling away from the North and going South and will eventually warm up becoming less dense again... That part confused me, as Im trying to make sense of what the hell this new science is trying to tell us... Because like I said... Glaciers are already floating on our oceans...if they melt, more or new water is not being created as the displacement of water has already been accounted for... The first paragraph of that report seems false to me...NO new water or extra water from melting glaciers is added to our existing water tables...therefore no added weight from denser water. I know scientists are telling us that when the ice caps melt, the oceans will rise....whatever... OK...I may now understand this...maybe denser water is being added to our oceans as the glaciers are no longer ice but liquid H20 and liquid H20 is denser than ice therefore heavier than ice so the ocean floors can no longer support melted, denser glacier water??? Im just thinking out loud and typing this for all to read.
  18. Cuts like knife actually. Oh...but it feeeeeeels so right. But you did notice the downvote, right? I wonder if the down vote hurts as much as your comment hurts me at this moment in time? Because whatever you feels...I feels the same way. And that down vote is because you are trolling...
  19. Add a couple of gloo gloos of olive oil to those beats and you've got yourself a tasty treat. I used to enyoy that as a kid (still do). Id put more than a couple of gloo gloos of olive oïl and then Id take fresh Greek (or Italian or French bread..you know...the kind with a thick crust) and Id dip my bread in the olive oil afterwards. (still do) MMMMMmmmmmm goooood! Delizioso!
  20. You have your posting style. I have mine. YOU always seem to whine about mine. I accept your without saying a negative word about it. And yet...here we go again... You whining about the 15 000 word posts. Albeit in a very very clever way. I applaud you for that! Nicely done! And for a rare moment...I dont have a comeback for that. Really nicely done...Im speechless. Im just bummed out that I cant get 15 000 words out of this...maybe next time. Maybe you read it, maybe you wont. But I guarantee you that I will challenge your point of view whether you like it or not...
  21. EDIT...and a as a pre PS: So as to not derail the tread further than what it already has... I assume you dont edit my stupidities too...as I dont expect you to either. As I could easily own up to my fodder.... My kids dont really get that whole off roading scene. They bike ride. On a bicycle path. Never leaving the nice paved path. They skate. In an indoor rink. And an outdoor one. They dont ski to see a beaten path. So yeah. They dont like a SUV. Because Im soooo against SUVs as family haulers, they too dont get why a family of 4 need a SUV of gigantic proportions such as a GM Lambda platform SUV. So yeah...not as much of a smooth transition from the bickering, but I am trying.
  22. And JUST because YOU have been posting here for 14 years....and I ONLY a couple.... It does NOT mean that MY contributions to this site should be overlooked or ignored or made fun of... YOUR battle seems to be quite the veteran elitism where you think you are the only one that cares or follows the rules... Yet...ignore the ...not attacking other posters rule...and laughing when another poster trolls another...(CCAP defending you at the expense of me!!!) And you know what...the site's owner also made fun of me... Said my posts confuse the shyte out of him that he doesnt know whether to up vote or down vote me... So...you had 14 years on this site. Ive had 2. And? You dont troll? You dont talk politics? I already showed you where you poke fun at political leaders...that might not line with your...um...conservative lifestyle... You dont get to say you are holier than thou, dude. I told you...freedom of expression is stronger than you and I. You want Drew to start erasing posts? How about ignoring the little things and enjoy the ride. How about NOT making a big stink about nothing so 15 000 word rants are NOT a common thing. Because you also have a problem with 15 000 word rants. You got a problem with politics. You got a problem with broken rules that even yourself does not follow. You got a problem with EVs. I mean...are we here posting JUST to PLEASE YOU? Just post things that your eyes and ears could agree with? You told me to bite you? I am telling you to phoque off!
  23. I used to have many vices. The drink. The sex. The adrenaline junkie stuff such as driving fast on EMPTY city streets late at night or going fast, like stupidly scary fast down ski hills(night skiing and on the side trails of the ski hill where many trees reside. And yes Ive hit one and screwed up my knee and eventually requiring reconstructive knee surgery decades later a decade ago. HUH? ) Now...I got one vice. My family. (wife and kids) They are my drug now as I cant live without them. Weed... I dont care who smokes it or who doesnt. I dont want my kids touching the stuff just like I dont want my kids over doing the drink and the speed when they are ready to drive. Hard drugs. Well...I speak against the drugs, the soft ones as well as the hard ones, and hopefully they make the right decisions when its time to make those decisions. I do keep on pounding the message that drugs=bad. And I just hope the parenting that my wife and I do resonates with them. And they do know that so they choose to do the vicey stuff, that we are not going to be mad. They could count on us to help them get through the bad times. But...bad times will come if they do the vicey things...
  24. Yes. Back to cars. My son always loved little Hot Wheel cars. Now he is obsessed with them. Yes. Yes. He loves his computer related toys like his remote controlled robot Olie or his video games and stuff like that. He does enjoy old skool little toy cars. He also loves playing sports. Back to cars. The basement play area this past year has become a Hot Wheels racing track/city room. Its not big enough to make Youtube video salary with it, but its fun for me and him alike non the less. Waiting for the summer so we could play baseball... Next Hot Wheels toy I buy for him. The wireless 'smart' racetrack thingy.
  25. No weed. Dont do weed. Weed is bad. Although Trudeau wants to legalize it. And he will. And it will be legal by the summer. Wine. Drink wine. Socrates drank wine when he philosophized. My rants require wine. Because with wine, people can easily (pun alert) WHINE about the 15 000 word posts easier, and with wine they could tell me they love me when drunk. With weed, the brain just becomes, mush...and the only thing you will be telling me is that you got the munchies and I aint about to cook you up some poutine just to get some some love. With the wine, your whining (pun) turns to love almost immediately!
