  1. Just stressing the IMPORTANT words... "YOU" is ONE of them! Like I said...READ. Every. Single. Word. I. Made. It would seem like Im stressing... Yet...'twas CCAP that missed that smiling emoji fella when I told him he failed me... Read. EVERY. SINGLE. WORD. HE. MADE. TO. ME. It would seem like HE is a tad MORE serious than I... CAPS....means nothing... Im just POINTING out the IMPORTANT words that NEED to be UNDERLINED because the WHOLE LOT of YOU have MISSED the POINT... In IRONY... It seems like YOU people have an itch over the fact that I have THE opinion that the SBC is THE greatest of our time... I POINTED out reasons why I THINK that... Yet...here we are...STRESSING about the IMPORTANCE of OPINIONS yet Im the one that seems to be CHASTISED for HAVING THE opinion of the SBC BEING THE GREATEST!!! YET IM THE ONE THAT GAVE ACTUAL FACTUAL REASONS ON WHY I THINK SO!!!! NOT HALF ASSED REASONS SUCH AS "BECAUSE I LIKE IT!!!" Now...it would seem like Im angry... I ASSURE you...IM NOT!!!!!!!!! ALL THESE CAPS and the EXCLAMATION POINTS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! are just to SHOW YOU folk how wrong YOU are in INTERPRETING the SITUATION!!!! ASK OF THIS TO CCAP!!!! IS HE STRESSING????!!!! Is HE CLEARLY TROLLING ME? To get a REACTION FROM ME???!!! So...who is mad about what? To show you how MAD I am NOT... A song for you folk... If I was mad...would I be able to enjoy THIS song right about NOW???!!!
  2. Sure... But... Let me put this on another page... I think the SBC is THE greatest V8 in our modern times... I think Chevy should just KEEP that formula going in the next C8 possibly rear mid-engined Vette. Cadillac should do the DOHC thing... Anybody got a problem with that opinion? No? Anybody? OK...now lets move on!
  3. Au contraire... YOU dont like the SBC... YOU have a problem when somebody says its the best... YOU deal with it...
  4. because YOU did not READ why I mentioned the Silverado V8...it is ESSENTIALLY the SAME LS2 or LS3 motor that is in a Camaro or Pontiac GTO or Cadillac V Series... Because all of this...the flack I still get from YOU is essentially an OPINION of HOW I FEEL THE SBC is!!! SUBJECTIVE opinion of WHY I feel the SBC is the greatest with REASONS...VALID FACTUAL REASONS why I feel this way... If YOU wanna ignore the fact that a SBC is ENGINEERED to be a truck engine AND a sports car engine and YOU wanna hold THAT against me is well...EGG is on YOUR face... YOU are allowed NOT getting excited by the Silverado SBC...I dont hold THAT against you... But YOU dont wanna give me the SAME respect back when I say that JUST because Chevy engineers the SBC to be boring and mundane in a truck yet exploits its true potential in a Vette... YOU shove subjectivity in my face defending YOUR choice of NOT getting excitied over a SBC...the 7.0 being the sole exemption yet somehow deny MY defense....while IGNORING me saying I LOVE all what YOU love... So...who is being MORE biased? You or me? I suggest YOU read what I wrote in ALL of my posts....Every. Single. Word. I stayed TRUE all along. NEVER deviated. Just repeated the same ole same ole... Subjective you say? So...why arent I allowed to say the SBC is the greatest???!!!! There was backlash...wasnt there? For me saying that?
  5. Sure... But when I said the SBC is THE greatest...and then DFELT agreed with me... How many times do I mention that I would restomod and pro-street ANY classic GM muscle car and swap in a SBC in it? Why was it we both got flack for saying that? Essentially...THAT would be MY opinion, right? Did I say anything negative about any other V8 during that appraisal and afterward? No. No I did not...but I do recall the backlash of me saying the SBC is the greatest though... I just gave you folk REASONS of why I thought so...and I ENCOURAGED you folk to do the same bravado talk I did by you folk DEFENDING YOUR backlash by giving me a motor that YOU deem worthy of being the greatest... Alls I got was MORE backlash of why I STILL think the SBC is the greatest... I suggest you read EXACTLY what I wrote from the get go and you will see that 'twas ME that was quite honest and NEUTRAL about the whole thing... So...all of this...and you agreeing with Cubical's last post was egg on YOUR face... I dont think I mislead anybody here with this discussion. I dont think I ever mis-represented myself, my intentions with the direction of this discussion either. And I dont think I EVER come across a blind fanboy either. After all, I LOVE me a Hellcat, or an AMG 6.2 liter Mercedes Benz CLS or E Class for the mid 2000s. Ferrari V8 love? Yeah, I got plenty of that too... I MENTION THAT as OFTEN as I can...
  6. But...then again...half a page worth of why I think the SBC is BETTER than that AMG motor WAS made and YOU just wanna ignore it... Fine by me... You still ragin' though.
  7. @Frisky Dingo To be fair....I did ALWAYS mention the SBC in ALL of my posts... Yes...that includes ALL LS and now LT variants... And why shouldnt I? The way GM and Chevy deliver us the SBC, the way cylinder heads and cams interchange into ALL family lineages MOST of the time...I dont see why I would NOT include ALL family variants... Again...its a testament to how much THOUGHT has gone to engineering the SBC...
  8. @ccap41It looks like you are raging about me ONLY concentrating on the SBC... YOU have failed to talk to me about how 1 motor...1 motor not...many motors could challenge MY saying the SBC is the greatest... If it takes MULTIPLE motors from DIFFERENT manufactures from DIFFERENT countries of origin to disprove MY saying the SBC is the greatest...you have already lost the argument. Yes...what about the Hemi? The Hellcat or Demon engine? Yes...what about the Voodo or 6.2 liter AMG motor? Or the 3.9 liter Ferrari V8? Or the 4.0 liter BMW motor? YOU pick just one of those and talk to me about it... I gave you MULTIPLE angles on MULTIPLE posts backing up MY view of the SBC being the greatest...YOU do the same... Just pick ANY V8 modern in production NOW and go for it!!! Just ONE motor.... You see...the LS is also a FAMILY of engines doing a PLETHORA of things...the BLOCK stays the same...the cams, the cylinder heads and the materials that make up the block differ.... YOU have a tall order to fill and THAT is why YOU are raging... Like I said...pick just ONE motor and convince me why that ONE motor is THE greatest...
  9. You forgot about engineering... I agree with what you said... But...when a Ferrari 488's engine gets to be engineered cost effectively and put into a 1500 or 2500 series pick-up truck to do blue collar work at lasts 300 000 miles with not major overhauls and sells about 1 million units per year every year and then and also continues to be a Ferrari 488 racing around Lemans and and daily driven... Yes...the 3.9 liter Ferrari 488 V8 is engineered to the highest degree of super sports car order...as like a SBC... The SBC is also a work horse lasting 300 000 hard miles. The SBC also does 200 000 daily driven miles in cop duty form. 200 000 daily driven family car miles in fuel efficient comfort. 200 000 daily hard driven sports car miles that give that 300-400 hundred thousand dollar Ferrari 488 a run for its performance money... And while yes... THE BEST means so many things to many many people... The point is still stands that a SBC is THE greatest V8 of our modern times... And Cadillac...DESPITE these merits NEEDS to go DOCH but Corvette would be STUPID to dump the usual pushrod SBC formula to chase the NOW mundane DOHC V8 world... And while CCAP does not get a hard on for the SBC...EXPOSING HIS BIASED argument WORSE than mine...actually...mine is just focused on PRAISING the MERITS of the SBC...I HAVE NOT denounced the other contenders... YES a Ferrari V8 SOUNDS terrific... So does a SBC. Different sounds...but that does not take away from the opponent... Its just different sounds...and the SBC sounds just as GOOD as a Ferrari V8... THEY ARE BOTH EQUAL... Yet...the SBC is also found on a Silverado...sounds OK on a Silverado...but its meant to do WORK...HARD WORK... NOT RACING WORK...BLUE COLLAR WORK... And yet...a SBC (or a Ford V8) do both racing AND blue collar work... Its a TESTAMENT to the engineering of an engine... A long time ago...ENTHUSIASTS used to mention engineering of a Ferrari engine over a 1986 Monte Carlo SS catalytic converter choked 305 V8 or Crossfire 350 is soooooo superior... Yet now...we seem to NOT want to address ENGINEERING into the equation... Funny how that is... And NO! Im not ranting or raging... Just giving my opinion... Giving you folk a damned good argument. Alls I get back is what YOU folk prefer.... Frisky...YOU prefer the Ferrari V8. CCAP...you would prefer the Voodoo yet want to experience that HANDBUILT EXOTIC 7.0 liter SBC... Yeah...its just as EXOTIC as a Ferrari V8 and AMG V8 that IS also HANDBUILT... Yet...the block of that 7.0 liter is mind numbing similar to a Silverado SBC... The SBC...although NOT the same lineage of that 283 V8 that found itself in the Corvette in 1955...has EVOLVED HUGELY... Ignore that...its OK... But dont laugh at me, DFELT or Casa when we say the SBC is THE GREATEST modern V8...Because we are NOT far from the truth when we say that... Strong words those were....I agree...THE GREATEST... Mohammed Ali said the exact same thing about himself....HE PROVED his worth...and I think the SBC proves its worth time and time again as well...
  10. You think that a Silverado V8 and a Corvette V8 and C7R V8 and a Chevrolet SS/Caprice Cop Car/Camaro V8...which is basically the same block... and how GM engineered the vocation of the LS series engine for each of these vehicles is OPINION versus fact? You think that how compact exterior wise the LS engines are just opinion versus fact? You will deny the economies of scale the LS V8 engine enjoys and it has become very affordable to hot rodders and average joe red necks to real hard core engineering endeavors vis-a-vis the performance the LS engine makes and reliability it has and call THAT an opinion versus fact? And yes...I LOVE AMG and Voodoo motors myself. I also love the Oldsmobile big block and Pontiac big block V8s...Coyotes and Clevelands and old and new Hemis...THAT would be the ONLY opinion I gave....yet YOU were the one to pitch that criteria on to me...with your rhetorical question... Remember...I asked to give me examples of how other motors could compare.... I said DO NOT DENY THE SBC but to PROP UP other motors... Frisky just posted some stuff while Im writing this...I havent read his post yet as Im still typing this post... IM WILLING TO BET HE WILL NOT DISAPPOINT ME!!! You have failed me CCAP...
  11. Engineering SHOULD be a part of it... SMK mentioned HP/liter... Yet the EXTERIOR dimensions of a SBC is quite compact. A 6.2 liter SBC is prolly SMALLER physically than a 3 point or 4 point something liter Ferrari V8. The volume of an engine in cubic inches or liters is NOT how physically big on the exterior the engine is, but how much air can flow inside the engine....and the engineering of a SBC to make it that compact and that voluminous on the inside has GOT to be a factor. If it aint...cool. OK... Money as in value. An exotic V8 made by Ferrari, BMW, M-B/AMG, and any other manufacturer is expensive. Yes...exotic materials and production and stuff... OK... A SBC...is a race motor, is a daily driver motor, is a work horse motor and a sports car motor. It has to have enough horsepower to win races in the racing world...and it does that. It has to be docile enough to be a daily driver and as we know race motors are NOT ideal for daily driver use. It has to be fuel efficient for daily driver use...AND to win races... It also has to be a sports car motor. Have enough racing balls and daily driver manners to be a daily driven sports car. It also has to be a work horse where its torque numbers and horsepower have to be re-calibrated to do some blue collar work in Vans and pick-up trucks and...cop car duties. Ok...still not impressed. You mentioned the following and loyalty and passion an engine brings to its owners... YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING ME???!!! The LOYAL following the LS engines have is only matched by HEMIs and Ford Cleveland V8s... Sure AMG V8s and Ferrari V8s have a following...maybe on the same level of a SBC...but probably not. But its OK... The SBC leads or is on top of ANY criteria ANYBODY wants to throw at it. Configure any factor you wanna talk about and I guarantee you that the SBC is be a part of that conversation. If not winning the criteria out-right, in second place for sure. More often than not...ANY criteria thrown at it...the SBC will be on top and if points were rewarded for podium placement...the SBC would win the competition... Casa and myself GAVE MULTIPLE examples of why WE BOTH think the SBC is the greatest. All we have so far for the M-B/AMG and Ferrari motors...is just the sheer MENTIONING of them...NO EXAMPLES WERE GIVING OF WHY THESE MOTORS ARE BETTER/GREATER/MORE PASSIONATE MOTORS than the SBC. The very fact that a Ferrari was bought by "an enthusiast" and dropped an LS engine in it is proof enough of how loyal/reliable an LS engine could be. How easy it is to drop it in...fabrication was surely made...yet its MORE COST EFFECTIVE to RE-ENGINEER the back end of a FERRARI than just OVERHAUL AND MAINTAIN a FERRARI V8... SYMPHONY OF A FERRARI V8? SURE...again...the lustful sounds of an American V8 can even surpass the symphony of a Ferrari V8...
  12. I drive very often...my wife's fire proned 1.6 liter ecoboosted Fusion that has seen at least 5 or 6 recalls since the day we bought it...there was at least that many recalls on a 1.6 liter ecoboost BEFORE we bought it... and I enjoy driving it from time to time...and my car is a 3.7 liter, 300 horse, naturally aspirated V6... 1. I dont think the 1.5T Malibu is any more broken than a 1.6 liter ecoboosted Fusion 2. On paper, his Malibu is actually faster than my Fusion. And when I rented a 1.5T MAlibu last year, it actually did feel that it had more oomph than my Fusion proving the theory part correct in my eyes at least. 3. In reality...a 1.5T Malibu or 1.5T/1.6T Fusion are not hot rods. They were not created to be such machines and are NOT bought by people that crave hot rod acceleration runs. So yeah...my empathy for him died too when he decided to troll instead of looking at the bigger picture. I gave him MULTIPLE logical approaches to soothe his anxieties and HE responded in kind...denying my attempts...which was OK...until HE trolled me! So...
  13. So... He does NOT have the money to go fast...nor does he possess the skills required to go fast, yet he wantys to bitch about NOT being able to go fast... Even in the 1960s...he wouldnt of been able to afford a fast muscle car...he would be owning an inline 6 Chevelle or Biscayne. In the 1980s...he would be owning an Iron Duke 2.5 liter 4 cylinder Celebrity or 2.0 liter Cavalier. Shyte...even the 2.8 liter V6 Eurosport Celebrity was a dog...the Malibu HE currently owns runs circles around the Celebrity 2.8. Double Shyte...the Cavalier Z24 with the same 2.8liter V6 is ALSO a dog...the MAlibu 1.5T also runs circles around that car! And yet he wouldnt of been able to AFFORD the 2.8 liter V6 variants So...What the phoque is he kevechting about then?
  14. Grow the phoque up, guy... Although I dont know about your character on how you sour on new purchases over time... Your whining is asinine. 1. CAFE is there for the greater good. Like it or not. CAFE has NOTHING to do about performance... 2. Dude...a 1.5 liter turbo 4 cylinder engine powering a 3300 LBS car gets about the same performance numbers as base small block V8 powering a 1960s vehicle weighing possibly a tad more than 3300 lbs but getting considerable better gas mileage... TECHNOLOGY...does improve over time...CAFE may have something to do with that....maybe not...does not change the fact that in 2017...diminutive 4 cylinder engines ARE OUR reality...and performance numbers HAVE improved... 3. |The good old days of performance IS today...NOT the 1960s... YOU just have to buy the right PHOQUING vehicle..just like how you had to do it IN THE 1960s... A 2018 V6 PHOQUING CAMRY will outperform 85% of ALL muscle cars of the 1960s and 1970s... A car guy such as yourself SHOULD KNOW THAT!!! 4. A 1.5T Malibu performs the same bloody way any other car in its class performs with equivalent engines... Dude...when you bought your 1.5T Malibu...a very affordable HEMI powered BASE 350 cubic inch Charger could have been yours to own for about the same price of your 1.5liter Malibu...Ive heard that FCA discounts the shyte out of them... Phoque Off about YOU being a GM guy... YOU willingly bought a 1.5 liter 4 cylinder car... YOU dont get to bitch about ANYTHING the way you do and blame CAFE when THIS was at your fingertips... THIS gives a middle finger salute to the tree huggers and CAFE people YOU had a choice to buy the V8 Charger rather than a 1.5T Malibu Anything else you wanna bitch about...phoque off with it!!! Its just an excuse you give that holds no water. Yes, I turned to the dark side in being mean to you....I usually do that when I get childish remarks... Talk to me like an adult, and you will get respect. Troll me...and THAT is what you get! If your car is broken...because that is your latest "what if"... Then CAFE or a diminutive 1.5T engine is NOT the problem... Its just a defect...fix the phoquing defect...your car is still on warranty! Other than that...I wont be crying for you Argentina anymore...
  15. I would agree to those two in contention. Now...give me a reason or two so I could change my mind... Pagani using an AMG motor or a Ferrari V8 sounding like a symphony just wont cut it. I need more than that...because while swapping a Honda motor in a Civic with an LS engine is no big thing...swapping it and making it work to fly is another... As we all know...weight is the ultimate enemy to go faster, but its an even bigger factor when you wanna fly... And while LOVE me some classical Mozart or Beethoven or Chopin and the like and I compare those masterpieces to Ferrari engine sounds no matter what the Ferrari cylinder count maybe... I also love the sweet beat of rock-n-roll. And I compare that sound to the American V8... Here...an example of how I dont mind hearing this day in day out over ANY Ferrari engine. And if anybody can convince me...its you Frisky. So...give me reasons.
  16. You are not being forced to do anything you dont wanna do... You could have bought a V6 Accord when you bought your Malibu. Now you cant. I believe Honda nixed the V6 Accord for the new one. But then there is the V6 Altima...or the V6 Camry. Or the V6 Fusion... But...there arent many takers on those trims either... CAFE or not...that is for another discussion on other day. The merits or delusions of CAFE goes both ways... Alls I know is that California air is a lot cleaner than it was during the 1970s... THAT is a HUGE winning point for CAFE... Back to the 1.5T Malibu...
  17. No its not... The Malibu that you happen to own is just an average car doing average things in a sea of average performance in this market. If the Malibu is a dog, so is the Accord or the Fusion of the same calibre. THAT is my point! YOU are not necessarily disappointed in the 1.5T Malibu, but very well be disappointed in the way we all have been duped that minuscule 4 cylinder engines with turbos could replace naturally aspirated bigger V6 and V8 engines on cars that weigh 3300 lbs. Reg...your Malibu is a 1.5 liter 4 cylinder car... Honestly...what performance did you think you were gonna get with that engine powering a 3300 lbs Malibu? On paper...the Accord says it goes faster than the Malibu... Did you actually drive an Accord to get the real sense of it? Ive driven the 1.5 liter Malibu like yours...honestly...it feels a lot like my wife's 1.6liter Fusion...which to me....aint that bad... But...going in buying the Fusion...I KNEW from BEFORE owning it that the Fusion 1.6 ecoboost was NOT going to be some sort of rocket ship... Now...again...Im not here dissing you and trying to take away your legit concerns with the Malibu you own...but...you bought a car with a 1.5 liter 4 cylinder engine under the hood...YOU should have known BEFORE hand what the consequences were gonna be... But...the lesson that I wanna talk about is that Honda and Ford do EXACTLY what GM did...you bitchin' about Chevy and CAFE will fall on deaf ears with me...you bought an appliance car...actually...in this market...since like forever...all these cars are ALL appliance cars... In fact...this Chevelle is/was as mundane as what you are driving... It aint this one... But then again...that Yenko Chevelle was a very very rare bird... Sure... But why do you think that its TUNED this way... It aint a performance oriented car... Its an appliance car meant to go from point A to point B...bought by average people who dont really WANT to punch the throttle of the gate to win a street light to street light race against other appliance cars to the left and right of them...they just want to go home...safely and securely with the least amount of gasoline wasted on such shenanigans... No 1.5 liter Accord or Fusion or Malibu driven by an average mom or dad will EVER challenge that car's performance...
  18. Could very well be...but Ill just let Balthy's and Cubical's posts do the rebuttalling...
  19. Yes. About the SBC NOT being the best V8 engine. But they make gobs of power, could be customized to make even more power with ease because lots of people know how to hop them up and usually are as simple as bolt ons and are more reliable than well...mom always being there for you. Fuel efficient as fuel efficient could get when one is talking about high horsepower. The SBC is a RACE motor as its also a daily driver motor as its also a sports car motor as its also a work horse truck motor. The block stays mostly the same in all variants, just the type of material of the block and cylinder heads and cams change for the different vocation of the motor is tasked to do. Its ENGINEERED that way from the get go. And more importantly than all of that...which is substantial considering all that I said above...is that the Chevy Small Block fits under ALL hoods of ANY car of ANY type of ANY country of origin. Other engineers of all kinds and automobile dudes AROUND the world use it in THEIR projects including using it as boat engines and AIRPLANE engines. Now...with the couple of people frowning upon that statement... Those are criterias that I put forth. No biases as what I said is very truthful. General statements. But very very representative of the Chevy Small Block. I challenge ANYBODY to rebuttal this... NO! Not by PUTTING down the SBC!!! (The MODERN TODAY LS series of engines and we are now into the modern LT series) BUT BY ACTUALLY PRESENTING ANOTHER V8 CURRENTLY UNDER PRODUCTION AND FIGHT YOUR WAY AROUND YOUR NAYSAYING!!!
  20. It aint a dog....though. Its average performance for an average grocery getter. CUVs maybe a tad slower still...and those are actually the average grocery getter nowadays... Remember....the BASE engined CUVs is what Im talking about... 1.5T Equinox https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2018-chevrolet-equinox-awd-test-review C/D TEST RESULTS:Zero to 60 mph: 8.9 secZero to 100 mph: 26.8 secZero to 110 mph: 36.6 secRolling start, 5-60 mph: 9.6 secTop gear, 30-50 mph: 4.9 secTop gear, 50-70 mph: 6.6 secStanding ¼-mile: 16.9 sec @ 83 mphTop speed (drag limited): 124 mphBraking, 70-0 mph: 161 ftRoadholding, 300-ft-dia skidpad*: 0.86 g And while a small block V8 muscle car did the same numbers...much joy was had with V8 noise...and I do realize the shytness of the tires back in the day...everything IS relative. Point being...YOU dont like the performance of your 1.5T Malibu. ITS A LEGIT concern....it is YOUR purchase after all.... We all dont want to take that away from you...we all just want you to realize that the grass is NOT greener on the other side!
  21. Read what Frogger and Cubical and Balthy wrote... Cubical's being what I want to point out as well... And Frogger's post is reality to the 'n'th degree. A Civic Si or a Golf GTI may actually be faster than a regular V8 Mustang or Camaro...so there is that too if you wanna go down that route.
  22. I agree 100% with this. Yet...regular run of the mill muscle cars (NOT the high spec, limited edition models, but the regular small block versions) had the same performance stats back in the golden age as that Accord or Malibu or Fusion 1.5 liter turbo. Wha? Yessiree Bob! So this is akin to be bitchin' about how your neighbours 1969 Yenko 427 Chevelle is faster than your 327 Cubic Inch Chevelle...or worse...your inline 6 Chevelle...
  23. Yes...the guvment needs to be a lot less out of our lives...this I agree with...but... It aint GM not having balls on the Chevy side of things...see 2018 Corvette ZR-1 or 2017 Camaro ZL-1. Long gone are the days when Malibu (Chevelle) SS roamed the planet. And even then, muscle cars were never THE bread and butter cars either... The MAJORITY of the population ALWAYS bought cars as appliances. But there was a bigger subset of enthusiasts that lead manufactures to offer some spicy choices in the past. Hence the existence of our lovable muscle cars. Not so much today though. Add to that CAFE rules and the enthusiast machine for the average joe is teetering to extinction. Not much GM could do about that. They could offer a more spicy Malibu, but how many takers will that option have? In reality...not many.
  24. OK...I see you would want the 2.0T in a cheaper trim... Fair enough. The 2.0T in the Fusion NOW is a lot cheaper than it was when we first bought the Fusion in 2013. Maybe GM will do exactly that next year. You bought the Malibu in the first year it came out, right? Well, that usually happens...early adopters ALWAYS fit the tooling costs and bills...

I owned a 1999 Oldsmobile Alero coupe GLS (3.4 liter V6) and my wife owns a 1.6 liter ecoboost Fusion. I chose the 1.5 ecoboost here just because the Malibu in question also is a 1.5T... As you could see...in 1999 and in 2017...REGULAR family oriented mid-sized sedans have MORE OR LESS been the SAME for performance....with more or less 200 horsepower and 200 ft.lbs of torque...give or take... 0-60 times ranging from low 7 seconds to low 8 seconds. 1/4 mile times in the 16 second range... I personally DO prefer a naturally aspired V6...even if pushrodded (Alero) over a small turbo 4...but man....performance for these types of cars has been stagnant and the same for 20 years...I dont get the negatives for the Malibu 1.5T? I drive my wife's Fusion OFTEN and I would assume the Malibu is the same as my wife's Fusion... I dont seem to yearn for more power when driving her Fusion....and keep in mind my own ride is a 2012 Acura TL SH-AWD... Now...I dont wanna piss on your parade and tell you that your concerns are bupkiss...but Im just trying to reassure you that you aint missing anything.... Buy a V6 if you want the performance...keep a small turbo 4 and live with the consequences... PS: The Honda 1.5T has to be floored like a bastard too to get those times...and if you think that repeated runs with the Honda wont phoque up the Honda motor....you are sadly mistaken...The Accord is a big heavy car... Not liking a turbo small 4 cylinder is cool...and I get that...but a Malibu with that engine was not meant for high performance. Nor is that Honda Accord... The Civic....the Civic is meant for that. Or if you wanna mid-sizer...the V6 TLX is it...or like you said, the Buick Regal. Or the Fusion 2.7 liter Ecoboosted Sport. But that Fusion might disappoint in the "sport sedan" handling part...It aint an Audi "S" trim car...
