@Frisky Dingo I just realized you're only a year older than me! We've done how many of these and age has been a part of it and it's just never stuck till now lol. I dig the list too!

That A10 seems great. It always had that motor making peak power. That is one NASTY car!
-
Wow, thinking about this my two hardest are the "freebie" and the 2017..

They wouldn't' both be red.. Or maybe they would.. hmmmm.. Red GT and blue 488..? lol Aaaand the GTO. Base engine was 400ci and 350hp. It would work. Honorable mention: Titan XD because I think it was originally ONLY offered in higher trim, 4 door, 4wd(maybe not 4wd) and the 5.0(which is the most important). I think this would be replacing the Yukon if I chose it.

Sad, but true... I always try and get a lineup in because this is a fun way to pass time at work(the thinking part as I'm doing mundane work). This same thing minus: Ferrari, Lambo, Aston, Maserati, Rolls, Bentley...probably a few others I couldn't think of. I mean most MB, BMW, Audi truly base models are stripper models and not that great of a buy. They need a few simple packages to make them even competitive with mainstream mid size sedans that most just have. If you went to their sites and built one w/o any packages they kind of suck. I mean none of them offer real leather at like 50k+. @ykX Love the list! Not a huge fan of the Lexus but I dig everything else. I was thinking of the SS myself. It seems like one of those cars that is pretty much just loaded from the get go.. and 6.2.

Ahhhh! I want that GT so bad! But I think daily driving a CTS would be soooo much more enjoyable than dailying a Focus with that junk transmission. Plus, it isn't just a regular Vette, it's a Z06! After loading up a CTS.. I will easily take the CTS and Z06 over the Focus and GT. I also think I will get more use out of the Z06 than I would the GT. If it would have even been a Fusion it would have been a tougher decision but a Focus.. nahhhhh.

Is Ford Motor Company Falling a Step Behind Rival General Motors?
ccap41 replied to a topic in Industry News
You're assuming they're ringers. Continue to read the article and it states that they do offer summer tires in that same size they just don't say what the tire is. -
I think it is more because the options on real super cars are aesthetic for the most part. I mean what kind of option are there even on a 918 or Ford GT that aren't carbon fiber this or that or different wheels, even if they are carbon fiber. I mean you choose your colors and interiors and probably a few ticky tack things here and there but it isn't like optioning any other car.

"Put Pilot Super Sports on Everything. It's the greatest tire ever." *Puts Pilot Super Sports on car.* "Well it doesn't work on everything.. Think of something different." -
I'd wager good money on if one had to replace their headlight housing for either any of these trucks with all the LEDs and HIDs you're talking about a grand per fixture. Wasn't there a test ahile back where they were getting estimates to repair the F150(they sledge hammered) and the tail light was like a grand with the sensor in it..? I'll have to look that up. I found it really quick. 2015 F150 damage repair "The price jumped from $106.28 to $887.25. For a taillight."

Absolutely. Exactly why I think CR is pretty much useless. When has Audi made a truly reliable vehicle..?

This was my main point. This and the headlight fixtures. They are way more complex than people give them credit for. Yes, I was wrong on the interiors. They are much more similar than I thought. Not really sure why I thought they were a little different, but they really aren't.
-
First, where did the 250/2500s come from? I guess I was only assuming the half tons.. Either way. I also didn't single out Ford, I said Ram as well as they don't have two brand for the same truck with different lights, etc. Those you pictures outside of the Raptor as the same exact mold with different colors and parts covered vs opened. They might be different grills but they're all fitting in the same exact shape/location whereas the GMC and Chevy have two different shapes and splits meaning they must redesign the rear clips and surround for both, same with lights and everything else mentioned. Yes, you are also right when it comes to the higher prices of the GMC help pay for those tweaks but those tweaks do cost money and with vehicles where margins are typically very small(less so with trucks, as you know) everything they can make the same adds up.

And weird enough.. the headlight and taillight are the same. It is really difficult to see but if you squint really really hard and put your face really really close to your monitor and then slam your face into the monitor you'll be able to see they are using the same head light and tail light.. With different fenders, you are correct. But still the same lights.

Ford has two differently shaped headlights and tail lights forcing facias and tailgates to be molded differently?
-
Yeah the Cobra doesn't count, that's why I corrected it to the GTO. Cadillac isn't premium to most people anyway so... ? lol Okay, that can be a Yukon. Close enough.. Actually.. I will modify my Yukon for a Cadillac make over so it will look like an Escalade, have te 6.2 from the Escalde.. but the VIN will still be a Yukon! Okay, I wouldn't actually do that and I'm not sure what I would modify from my list.
-
It costs money to design and produce two different: Front facia, grills, headlights, and likely a similar setup out back with different tail lights and tailgate, then two tweaked interiors. I understand all of the sold mechanicals are the exact same but combining sales of two products(when referencing money) doesn't make sense. Because it will cost more to produce 1 Silverado and 1 Sierra than it will 2 F150's or two Ram 1500s because more parts need to be made. For what it's worth somebody on another site showed about 20k off of a Ford diesel(I assumed it was a 2016 as the 2017's are on lots now).

Well I THINK I have a list I'm satisfied.. Ballin' luxury cruiser: Mercedes Maybach S Class Exotic super cars: Ford GT and Ferrari 488 Most likely the daily and hauler of any sorts Escalade(standard comes with a lot of awesome options, I was originally afraid it would be kind of stripper but not at all). Ideally I'd like t add 4WD to this but if I can't, I'll just buy snow tires in the winter. Old car: 2004 Cobra (I realized this after I thought about it that it still has to be a base model even if it is old..) Corrected Old car: 1969 Pontiac GTO Coupe Base engine was a 350hp 400cu V8. 'Merica. Honorable mentions: 2016 Titan XD(I think it originally only had the 5.0 Cummins in like a fully loaded trim) to replace the Escalade I'll probably do another with a little more realistic prices as I feel like I pushed the limits with the Maybach and Escalade. I'll try and get pics up if photobucket ever works again.

I can agree with that. That's why stores like Khols do well. It's that business model, and I personally hate it.
-
Is the one older model the one that must be modified or is there one older AND I can modify one of the others?
-
Agreed. I know it would entice a lot more people to come look at them if their MSRPs weren't 40-50k EASILY. Heck, I have a buddy who just spent 25k on a 2012 F150 XLT 3.5EB 4WD and I think it had 65k miles on it. If that same truck brand new was only 5k more or so I guarantee he would have just bought a new one but these incentives are all over the map. It's a crap shoot when to buy one to get a good deal on it or not.
