  1. Nevermind his blatant contradiction "putting the power down" when the V puts it down better than most in the world. Fact is that the V was the better performer in that test and the only thing they really railed on was regarding Cue.
  2. "The Escalade is the only high end Cadillac" "I'm talking about $80-$100K base price when I say high end" Put the bar down. We are done here.
  3. Way to sidestep the fact that you were wrong in stating that Cadillac has nothing upper end other than the Slade. Oh and a half million dollar car hyper car better damn sure beat everything. The CTS-V is more than $100K but nice attempt at moving the bar again. Btw, a base Slade starts at $73K. Maybe you didn't notice that while you were attempting to move said bar. The AMG E Class is also not high end, by your own definition since the base model starts well south of $80K.
  4. This would disagree with your assessment that Cadillac has nothing high end other than the Slade.
  5. Again you are making an assumption even though you acknowledge the fact that you haven't actually driven one though. It's like someone telling you that the Escape gets "x" MPGs, citing only paper stats while never having driven one, while you claim you get "y" MPGs. Being that you actually own one, who am I more likely to believe? Paper stats or actual ownership experience? Just offering a little perspective here on a subjective matter.
  6. But you still haven't driven it while dfelt has so... And I'm not stating this to be a jerk Btw (silly troll down vote aside) but "drivers car" is truly subjective here and you're kind of poopooing it without having ever driven one and then criticize dfelt about it even though he has driven it. To him, it may be a nice drivers car, making this a very subjective argument.
  7. Thanks ccap41. The lower opening (where the stereo is now) was a perfect size for the double DIN. Then I just had to cut out the trim to accomodate the double DIN fitting and subsequently relocate the cig lighter outlet. It worked out better than I thought it would. The only downside to the location is that it is a little low to reach while I'm driving. Reminds me of my old 95 Talon, which had low sitting stereos in them (like the Eclipse). And yes, every light was replaced, including the dome, except the front dome light. They used a funky twist fitting that I did not have an LED replacement for. That is really the only thing left to do in there. The back light is bright as hell, which I like. For reference, this was the before shot (and right after I pulled out the lower CD player).
  8. Thanks. It's not 100% the way I want it but I can live with it. I have a installed more stereos than I can count but this is the first time I have done one like this, where I had to literally take out and relocate other pieces to make the install happen. I'm satisfied (for now) considering this was my first attempt at something like this.
  9. No. It's just the GT350 owners having a problem so while it's false that the publications were having issues similar to Alfa, they are apparently not, in fact, without issues.
  10. Regardless of the platform, it is a totally different look and with the GNX name on it, it would carry plenty of appeal with it as well. It could be done IMO but it's all moot at this point since GM currently has no interest in exploring that option.
  11. GM needs to pull their heads out of their asses and build this already! Best looking Buick since the 80s GNX!
  12. Oh good grief people. Did everyone wake up on the wrong side of the cage this morning?
  13. I am entititled to an honest rebuttal. You don't get to decide whether I "let it go" or not unless you want me to bring up the fact that you said you were done on your previous post (when you clearly weren't). See how that works? Now I'm done lol.
  14. Again with the "truth or facts" argument that you haven't really backed up other than saying "well my friends Cadillac is junk" while others have written and documented proof of Alfa's initial problems. Hmmmm, which to go with... BTW, I have over 28 years of car ownership with multiple makes and models so why you felt compelled to bring that up, I haven't the foggiest. It has nothing to do with Alfas problems early on (as well as their checkered history). I guess as Drew pointed out, "let it go, let it go...". LMAO!
  15. Seriously? I know you're telling the truth? Umm, no. In fact, I think it is the opposite, hence my stance on Alfa and Fiat. You keep talking about "first year" problems but also give the "it's and old platform" stance for the 500. Which is it? Is it going to be the "truth" or the one that best suits your argument? Fact is that talking about 'X" friend having problems with "X" car means squat without proof. Meanwhile, we now have multiple publications with written and documented proof of the problems with the Giulia. Now, which one am I to believe? The friend that I don't know or the written proof of several national publications? Seems pretty easy to me but lets hear more about this denial. And your last sentence proves the issue with arguing with you about this. Even if they turn out to be bottom of the barrel in reliability (where they currently reside btw), you will never see it that way so your argument goes both ways. Of course not. I wouldn't want the bread to fall apart for no good reason lol!
  16. Way to ignore literally everything else that has been said here in order to blindly defend the HOST of problems with Alfa. You have gone from not accepting any criticism of a preproduction car for a certain set of reasons to not accepting any criticism of it now that it has been revealed that they are actual production vechiles crappping out on testers. Throw that on top of defending the 500 because "it's on a old platform" (for the record, being on an old platform hasn't really hurt the Charger or 300 in the reliability department but we will just side step that little fact), and it is clear that you simply will not accept that Fiat and Alfa are not good cars, even if two years pass with the same problems. The proof is already there. All one needs to do is actually LOOK.
  17. Not even comparable in any way, and the reasons given have been plenty and valid. That dead horse has been beaten quite enough though so I guess when the next Alfa takes a dump during a test drive, we will just keep attributing to first year hiccups while giving more established models like the 500 a pass because they are on an "old platform". That is the automotive version of Stockholm syndrome, for the record.
  18. Google is your friend. All one needs to do is type in "cars that Trump owns". The man is a hypocrite, plain and simple yet his supporters never seem to want to hold him accountable for a single thing he says or does that exposes him as the hypocrite he is. Baffling. It's like a political version of Stockholm Syndrome.
  19. Sorry @hyperv6 but if you think John McCain is "far right", then that pretty much kills your entire argument as it shows you really don't know what "far right" is. McCain is called a RINO here in Arizona, for the record which is the opposite of a far right politician. BTW, the "truth", as you put it, is certainly up to interpretation and debate given your need to deal in absolutes in matters like this. And Drew is right, everyone has been folllowing Cali's lead in regards to emissions and such and it won't stop now for the reasons he already mentioned. "State rights"-A term conservatives love to use but only when it is conevenient to their agenda. That is all I have to say about this.
  20. And one can try to bring up cars like the Vette but there is a big difference between a two of the same model high performance car having the exact same problem and four different cars of the same model having four (and sometimes more) problems. One problem is easier to fix than four or more is the point here.
