Muscle cars destroyed in the name of art
You need to link it, but I'm pretty sure this has been posted before.

Corn Ehtanol real cost
Dude, and I thought I made a lot of typos. I'm pretty sure if you have a wind infrastructure set up in various places across the country it's going to be windy SOMEWHERE. As Olsmoboi said, you have the other systems like Nuclear and Hydro to pick up the slack if needed. The "truth" about global warming is that much of it is a load of crap spun up by crackhead scientists, but more importantly is now part of a multi-national pollitical game.

If you could fix the chief problem Big 3 cars had
It's either cheapness in quality or engineering that cut corners. If you could pick those 2 that would sum up nearly all of the problems Detroit has had.

Yet another Zeta bites the dust?
If the CTS is closer to the size of the 5 series then it competes with the 5 series, the next car up in size is the STS/DTS for Caddy and the 7-Series for BMW. That's the logic I'm going with.

Wanna buy a Packard, or rather the Packard?
Of course they'll further dilute it and put Chevy rebadges in the lineup.

HARDTOP
There's no denying that pillarless > b-pillar. I can see a 4-door hardtop being impracticle for today, but you could do a 2door, especially if you've got a convertible version already.

Yet another Zeta bites the dust?
They could have also not invested in 7 versions of the GMT900s... 10 if you count the LWB models and 12 if you count the HD trucks.

Wanna buy a Packard, or rather the Packard?
I dunno what's worse: that prototype or the fact that some Chinese company is probably looking to buy the rights to Packard.

Yet another Zeta bites the dust?
Every day I have a little less faith in GM's ability to do things right. Zeta is plenty good enough to be a luxury marque platform. Use more aliuminum and trims ome weight and you're all set, it's already an excllent handling car. smk, the G8 is doing poorly because of the market condditions, not because it isn't an excellent product. I agree that it was stupid of GM to delay Zeta so they could move the GMT900's up...that's worked out real well for them. If nothing else, a version of Sigma that's enlarged and updated should be used to replaced the STS/DTS. The platform is already excellent in the CTS, so it's certainly not outdated. Certainly a smaller Alpha Cadillac should be prioritized, but a larger one to compete with teh 7 Series/S-Class/LS shouldn't be forgotten.

Mustang Power, the 1953 Cramer Comet
Indeed, putting an engine from one of the greatest planes in history and building a running, driving car around it is just amazing.

I have no idea where to put this thread, but if there's a better place for it feel free to move it.

I think you missed the point I was making earlier. I said that a newer car would handle better than an older car. And I'm talking stock, not with $15,000-30,000 worth of work and parts added on to make it handle like that.

Good handling "for the time" does not always equate to good handling by todays' standards, and I like cars that handle well by today's standards, and not by standards 30 years ago. I like cruisers to, don't get me wrong, but if I want a car that can really handle I'll buy a newer one.

You know as well as I that if there is one thing modern performance cars are good at, it's handling, and not just going fast in a straight line. You cannot sit there and tell me that a `69 Camaro will say, run a lap around the `Ring as fast as the new one can. If so then show me proof, I'd love to see it. Then show me a Corvette of the era do it as fast as the new ZR-1. On a side note, I wonder if I had said `71 Challenger instead if you would have retalliated, or was it that I just mentioned the Camro and not the OMFG RIPOFF!!!111 Challenger.

My bad, should have checked an actual source first.

Diamonds In The Rough
I never got why that the year the car finally got the suspension it deserved was it's last year. They could have made it for at least 2 more years so the good ones weren't so rare.

MY (YOUR) NEXT CAR
Reg, I can't remember if you've looked at one yet, and I'm too lazy tolook through all 4 pages, but did you check out and test drive a Journey? I took a closer look at one a couple weeks ago while I was having my oil changed and I found it handsome on the outside, and while the interior isn't beautiful, it's not hideous, and more importantly the materials are much better than the Avenger, plus it has buttloads of storage, and pretty comfy seating.

Although they are less likely to crash because unles a ricer FWD Civic or a `69 Camaro they can actually go around a corner at speed.

The Coolest Fiero on the Planet
Sleepers are cool, but how many times has that been done, and how hard is it compared to something like this? This took vision, skill, and so much work...that's what makes it so damn cool (that and being modeled after the Reventon).
