  1. I thought we did this before. Anyway, mine's pretty self explainatory.
  2. That would be a tough one to explain to the surgen.
  3. I did, it makes alot of good points. It also shows how poorly Daimler treated Chrysler from takeover to sell off. Cerberus has a lot of work to do to fix it, and it appears that they are working towards that. The quick reactions no doubt help a lot as opposed to GM, where it takes forever for anything to get done. The questions is can the deliver class leading rpoducts again, can they do it before it's too late, will the stick with Chrysler and not just sell it off instead of seeing it through. As the article mentions, you can only cut costs so much, the actual product has to be excellent, and you can't skimp money on engineering and quality.
  4. This thing looks so bad I would buy a Camry before I bought a G6 GXP, because not even the Camry is as ugly. And if we're comparing FWD, the Altima is awkward at some angles but still not anywhere near as ugly ore miss proportioned. It's no contest with Accod, which is by far the best looking FWD coupe on the market right now.
  5. B-pillars have their place, they are inherently stronger and do save weight. However there should be a hardtop option for more cars besides a couple of Mercedes and the Continental GT.
  6. I'm glad I don't see many of these on the road. They are hideous.
  7. A new Mini Clubman, those things are really cool A new black Sequoia...even black can't mask the bloated fat beasts that they are A new black Pilot following an older tan Pilot. The old one is bland but the new one is just ugly...it's like a big fat Jeep Liberty with a braces and huge eyeglasses. A black Charger SRT8

    A Mini SAV?

Go for it, I like it. Keep it true to the formula and heritage of Mini and make it relatively fuel efficient and Mini would have yet another hit on their hands.
  9. They will be, as far as I know LY, the updated version of LX debuts in 2010 or 2011, although it may be delayed to focus on smaller cars.
  10. I live in Lawrence MA, 25 miles or so northwest of Boston. It is, quite honestly, a $h!hole, and I hate it with a passion. I do hope when I move there is a disaste which wipes it off the face of the Earth. There are a few nice areas near the borders of neighboring Methuen and Andover, but for the most part it is a filthy, nasty, overpopulated place. Most building are triple-deckers with like 30 people per floor, most of them are falling apart, there is litter and filth everywhere, we've got crime, oh yes. Car insurance is the highest in New England. It's only gotten worse over the years...I'm glad I'll be moving soon. Burn in hell I say! That does happen fairly regularly actually, as places around here tend to catch or be set on fire. To give you an idea just how bad it is...
  11. So apparently the Feds don't realize that making super thick pillars to support the weight if a crash happens resulting in a rollover, then there's the issue of outward visibility being impeded, which makes it more difficult to see the things around you and avoid hitting them in the first place.
  12. I could do a lot of stuff to my cars and have money leftover to buy a classic.
  13. It may not be as good but is certainly impressive and survivable. Remember that just a few years ago many cars with pillars couldn't take side impacts nearly that well. Also, if a semi T-bones your car, truck, or SUV going 60...you're f@#ked no matter what you drive.
  14. Ok, I'll bite.... 2008 Chrysler Sebring convetible side impact crash test. Overall rating: Good And it diesn't cost an arm anda leg.
  15. I'm sure the vans will be on the list, however the midsizers need it more. The exteriors are fine execpt the butt. The LXs have the best interiors in the lineup right now, and nearly all reviews find them of good quality, and they just had an update. That's just wasting money. The 3.5L V6 already makes 250 hp, it doesn't need more, for comparison a 3.5 Charger is as fast as 4.6 Crown Vic and gets better fuel economy (they did a Police comparison a couple years ago, I think edmunds did it). The Challenger should get the 5-speed with the 3.5L. If they are going to keep the 2.7L they should hook the 5-speed up. The Phoenix series is on the way. The V6 cars are already the volume models. They can adjust output of which cars have which engines based on demand anyway. AWD is available if you check off the option sheet. Reg, seriously, do you even pay attention sometimes? If anything, they need to get the diesel from Europe over here, that gets 30mpg, and would solve the fuel economy concerns of the LX. They are already working on that, it's rumored to debut next year. -- Anyway, the key to survivial is product, product, product. Wev've been saying this for years for all 3 of the automakers. Build the good stuff and people will buy it, and pay a premium for it.
  16. Well lets see..the RL is FWD/AWD, let me know how it stacks up against the sales of the RWD 7-Series or S Class. To be taken seriously, it has to be RWD, the proportions alone lend a far more premium look and feel.
  17. I've changed an engine mount before on the Shadow, it's actually the same one that z28luver01 is refering to. It's really not that hard to do. If you don't have an engine hoist you can also use a jack, so the engine has something to rest on. Autozone is your friend for prices: http://www.autozone.com/N,15300154/shoppin...peResultSet.htm
  18. Plus, with wind generators you don't have to worry about a meltdown, not that that's ever happened before.
  19. I can't say K-cars because if anything I see more now than I used to. I saw a mint one yesterday.
  20. Well remember, if you set up wind farms in various locations across the country, there is going to be wind...it's not like the entire nation has a day where the wind runs out. Plus, as Oldsmoboi said, and I'm repeating, again, you would have the other sources to use as back ups/supplemental energy when needed, but you would have to use them a lot less I would imagine.
  21. That's funny, because I recently posted the crash footage for the tests to the C70 convertible hardtop. Must be the devil's magic that the sides didn't crumple like tinfoil. This was all done with the top down no less. If the C70 can magically not kill it's occupants, then logic would assume that replacing the heavier folding roof with a fixed one would save weight and even add some strength. Again, I can see why a 4-door hardtop would be impractical to build...there's a lot more space between the A and C pillars...you would need a lot of reenforcement to make it work, but not so much with a coupe, where teh pillars are much closer together. Look how close the B-pillar is to the C pillar anyway. More importantly, if you've got a convertible version, it's already been beefed up to be stronger...replace the folding top with a fixed roof and there you go...hardtop.
