June 2014: Audi of America
A Horse With No Name replied to William Maley's topic in 2014 Sales Archive
They are the new go to car for young upscale and cannot be seen in a Toyota. A3 is nice, but wildly over rated for what it is. A base GTI is 25K, at 25K what is in essence a luxury Golf makes sense. A luxury Golf (A3 is built on the Golf platform) does not make sense at A3 prices. Perhaps Cadillac can rebadge the Cruze and call it Cimmeron II or something....and yes I am being sarcastic here. -
June 2014: Ford Motor Company

Actually I think GM is really getting the fit and finish thing right, not sure I would say Chrysler or the Asians are. Subaru has notoriously lousy paint, Toyota feels cheap even on the Avalon, umm...I could go on and on. -

Ford also needs to realize that basic issues like My Ford Touch went wayyyy to long without being resolved. -

One could say the same for the mainstream Nissan lineup as well. -

VW is wanting to position itself as a premium brand. This is not all bad thinking.- 5 replies

Damn, they are indeed moving the metal. They have a lot more momentum than ford. And I am glad to see Jeep doing so well. -

Pretty impressive. Cadillac would give its eye teeth for a gain like this... -

June 2014: General Motors Co.
A Horse With No Name replied to William Maley's topic in 2014 Sales Archive
Cadillac is indeed worrisome, glad to see sales this strong in the recall climate. -
I am with scarlet on this one....

You would have to primary everyone out first. Most primary challengers this year are losing to incumbents. Maybe in 2016...... The political system in our country is much more badly broken than GM. Of all the major things in our country, GM is one of the most effective and sanely run.

Pretty much an argument for traveling by bicycle.

That would make a sweet tow vehicle for a long enclosed race car trailer. In another life....I own one....
-
In all honesty I wonder how much this is going to hurt GM.

Happy birthday!

Passat is an order of magnitude nicer car IMHO. With the TDI, you get a car with amazing interior room and 45mpg...plus diesel tourque. Well worth a few thousand more over the Dart. Dart is still a nice car though.

GM Helps return stolen Vette, 33 years later !
A Horse With No Name replied to G. David Felt's topic in General Motors
Maybe they just wanted to fix the faulty ignition switch before they recalled it. J/K, great move on GM'S part.
