  1. Because the Millennial generation is covered in debt and can only afford cheap, sh#4tty cars.
  2. By that measure Cruze is also foreign, because it started out as a Korean car IIRC.
  3. When the warranty is done....hmm...
  4. Sweet, thanks!
  5. It is insane. Civic SI, new 22k, have seen them six years old and beat to death with 100k for 13k. Thinking about another car, it will probably be new. Friend just turned down 8k for an 11 year old Golf TDI wagon with 225k on the clock...new you fan buy it for 25k...nuts!
  6. They are right in both counts, as both the Impala and Ram are best in class.
  7. Again, they will never ever ever be anything but a niche player here in the USA.
  8. Thankfully sales have remand strong through this whole mess....
  9. The Routan was a sales flop for VW....Chryco sells minivans like arms merchants sell bullets and missiles in the middle east. Why would they piss away that valuable and profitable business by doing away with the inherent brand equity in Chryco Minivans? Look at what happened when GM pissed away their brand equity in Pontiac, Oldsmobile, and the like.... Back in the seventies you could swing a dead cat by its tail anywhere in our country and hit a dozen Olds Cultas. How many cuttys do you see being sold new today? Do you think people would buy a 300 with a VW badge on it? Remember the sales flop that was the Phaeton, VW sold like 3000 of them right? VW could be very profitable here. Subaru and Mazda are making lots of money as niche market players because they understand their product, their market and their mission...and they stay on target. Things that cannot be said for Volkswagen. Of all of the people here, I trust you as much as anyone....although you lack the beard, robes and messianic following to be a prophet.
  10. I find it unlikely that Chrysler would go away.
  11. Still great numbers...glad to see this working out for you!
  12. VW is already hugely profitable. They make $20k plus on every Porsche they sell, they cannot keep Audi's on the lot, and they sell an assload of cars in Asia, Europe, and South America. Will be interesting to see what happens.
  13. Very true. However, I agree with Z, others need to learn from Subaru.
  14. I still think they are trying to walk through the front door on this one.
  15. Pardon me while I slip into negative mode. I really do not mean to sound negative. But Americans have been addicted to mediocrity so long this thing ought to be winning the sales staff record bonuses on the sales floor.
  16. Sadly consumers here in America seem to want Nissan Altimas in huge numbers. in that sense, i am really effing glad Jaguar does not build what Americans want.
  17. Jag F type is an epic car but is selling poorly here in America from what I understand.
  18. Opel is a hot disorganized mess. The problem is not the car, it is the lack of organization on the part of Opel.
  19. Skoda and Seat are part of the European marketing strategy and will not go away. Socialist European unions will be hell for VW to deal with as they do need to shed surplus capacity and reduce head count. Could be a way for Chrysler to become an independent American company again. Chrysler will probably never be independent and American again...
