  1. I was refering to the previous program in California that Unocal 76 had. That was the program HOT ROD bought their first gen "crusher Camaro" from. If you want to get depressed, read the back pages of old issues of Hemmings Motor News. That being said...sorry to see your F150 go. Chris
  2. Enjoy your new Malibu and sorry to see that happen to your old F150. Post pics when the Malibu is home. Chris
  3. Atomic orange is the best looking color IMHO. But I could be wrong... My wife hates that color, actually. Chris
  4. Even if a minor thing like that caused problems down the road, a bodyshop could sort it out at minimal cost. I trade electrical work to one bodyshop onwer, and beer to a good painter. I can get things fixed cheap. If you buy this car and run into troubles I can hook you up with a first class re-repair cheap. And I do mean first class. Doubt you'll have any problems, though. At least it's not like my sister. She bought an Odysea Minivan from a Honda dealer and showed her a clean carfax. What they didn't tell her was that they had done 10K plus in accident repair to the vehicle in their own shop and never reported it. It was the end of her love affair with Honda. Hopefully this is the begining of a love affair with Buick for you. You may want to save $ ahead, because you will have repairs with an older car. Chris
  5. Glad someone else loves the TF. Chris
  6. Amazingly nice, gm4life. That dark tint will keep the car soo much more cool on a summer trip. You trained your son well. Your cars and yard look great. Chris
  7. Oh, and XP-I saw the most amazingly clean Sedan Deville in the clunker line today. Silver with grey leather. Amazingly nice car...new tires even still had the little nubs on them. Shame to crush that. Chris
  8. Oh, and the Hyundai dealers around here have cashed in the most. Bunches of domestics, like 25-30 a dealership. And sadly, at the Chryco dealer I stopped at they were just getting ready to kill 20+ cars, including that really nice Grand Cherokee. Chris
  9. Sorry to hear that both interesting domestic and imported stuff is going to die. Like the Dark Blue Suburban I saw in the dead line today, XP 715. Thought of you when I saw that one. Also saw a 40,000 mile ford Conversion van, several nice trucks, including a really nice regular cab Dodge 4x4. But the amazing thing to me was the number of Jeeps. The OP talked about a Wrangler IIRC. One was on the front page of the Columbus dispatch in an article about the program. Another lot had a Grand Cherokee with under 50k that looked amazing. And the Ford dealer on the way home had, oddly enough...4 Cherokees (three grand Cherokee's and one of the old style) all green. And a green Durango to boot. Also seen, an older Toyota Land Cruiser and a early 90's FWD Cutty Convertible. Not sure if the cutty was eligible for the progam but it was there in line. Chris
  10. Nice old Cadillac! Chris
  11. Blisters I can fix...both of those trucks sound nice. Right now I am saving $ so I can pay cash for a truck and not have to take $ ouof the savings I already have. Tired also of seeing people want 3k for a truck that you can dribble a basketball through the bed floor and not hit metal. Chris
  12. When you repaint it...Cobalt Grey I think. About like the car "Ellanor" in Gone in Sixty Seconds. Only a little darker. Then lower it, and stuff 18's under it. Race seats up front, and a rollbar (not cage) in the back. 5 point harnesses. A little flare to the fenders. Some definite pro touring vibe. Think about it. LOTS of potential here. I like it! Chris
  13. So who owns the site now? Will things change much? Chris
  14. I would agree with that one, Oldsmoboi. Not sure how a Checker made the list.
  15. What should and should not be on there...and what have you owned? Me- Mustang Fastback (mine was 66, 68 is on the list) Original Miata 55 Chev. 57 Chev. Two other cars I love, the original GTI and the 240Z also made the list...as well as the Healy 3000, a car AI also love...and hmmm....Challenger...and the Original Riviera... Chris

  17. Damn, I wish I'd seen this. Crap, crap, crap. Would ahve loved to ahve done this. Chris
  18. One would theink that the Jeep would be worth more than $4500 in the open market. Chris
  19. Also. saw a good looking mid 80's 944 today, red. Talked to the onwer...seemed to be a good guy. Chris
  20. I would love to cut up an 80's Camaro and make it into a race car. Chris
  21. I wear tires quicker than average also. Something about a few hundred runs sliding them around parking lots in Autocross seems to diminish my tread life horribly. Can't quite figure out why. Chris
  22. I had Pirelli's on my first Miata and hated them. Now run BFgoodrich G force TA's...they did quite well in Sunday's autocross. If I only hadn't lost out to the white MINI and the White Scion in the last round.... But I did manage to run 6 runs out of 7 better than the 2 Preludes with mods. Both of them were pushing a hundred ++ more HP than I was and running on R coumpound rubber. I never would ahve gotten that with Pirelli's. Chris
  23. Hell,be glad it's just a mouse. Parked a car once at a friends for a couple months or so. Picked it up. Herd a rattle from under the dash. Not that kind of rattle... Rattlesnakes had gotten in and done some libidenous bidness. I had Mom, dad, and LOTS of babies. Up inside the dash, in all of the AC vents, HVAC ducting, etc. I usually do a lot of my own work, but that car went to the dealer to get fixed. The mechanic that fixed it was NOT happy. Get a cat. Put him in the car overnight. That should cure things. Chris
