  1. I've always wanted to this in the Alberta Foothills, but I think I'll save it for when I have time next summer. I might drive to Phoenix AZ next spring so we'll see.
  2. The "Miracle Blade III Perfection Series Knives" aka Chef Tony work quite well!
  3. Jeep Commander. or Studebaker "Dictator"
  4. lol that "Obama is the Anti-Christ" thing is the stupidest $h!e I've heard in a long time.
  5. I consider myself Socially Progressive/Liberal and Fiscally Conservative, so I guess that doesn't put me firmly in either category but I identify with Goldwater Conservatism because NeoCons Suck. Goldwater's "Different Strokes for Different Folks" approach to social policy in the US appeals to me. I hate what Reagan, and the Bushes did to the GOP turning it to a Morality Issues party. Goldwater was great but I yearn for moderates in the mantle of Ford and Nixon as well. Better keep dreaming because nothing's happening anytime soon that might realize this.
  6. It's a problem whichever switch is used... I appreciate your explanation, I always like to get a good explanation before I take it to the dealer as I don't have full confidence in their diagnostic procedure lately.
  7. I'm pretty sure that the US Dealer would Honor the US Warranty...
  8. Some problems on our cars I thought I'd ask about... The first is on my Granddad's 2007 Impala LS (Optioned out just like ours except it's black). (as he describes it to me) When the car is warmed up and has been running for a bit, and the air conditioner is off, there is a a Rotten Egg smell coming through the vents with the air. When the air conditioner is on (recirc) or when the fan is off, the smell isn't there. The next few are on my G5: -When the car is off for a bit the gauges have a tendency to move up and down all by themselves for a while every once in a while. The best way to describe it is that the gauges are having siezures. -The car makes a buzzy, vibrating scrubbing noise sometimes during deceleration and coasting could my brakes be worn out/out of alignment, or is it the tires? I know I need tires soon. -The LR window occasionally stops working and I have to hold the button down and slam the door to make it work, and then it'll work for a while and then jam/stop rolling down. -A couple of times the RR window will roll down by itself if the window lock isn't on Any ideas on this guys?
  9. All of those Mail trucks are being replaced with Uplander SWBs I thought.
  10. 2007 Impala LS, 3.5L 28MPG, all city.
  11. True Social Conservatives (ie Goldwater era Conservatives) are all about not getting in others way as long as they aren't hurting anybody (Goldwater himself was pro Homosexuals in the Military, pro choice etc, and said once that Jerry Falwell aught to be kicked in the ass...) Religious zealots who hijacked the Republican party and the term "Social Conservative". In my world Religious special interest groups won't be allowed to dictate the platform of a party.
  12. Naw, that's what I would buy... He bought a CTS I bet...
  13. The Irony in this is the MSRP of an Uplander similarly equipped as our 1999 Venture LS goes for 34.400$CDN...
  14. What Happened??
  15. Found this in the basement today
  16. Yeah, i think the RCMP in Nova Scotia used Volvos for a while in the 80s. (Up until 1999 Volvo had a plant in Halifax, NS). Nova Scotians must support what they build because NS per capita is one of their best North American Markets.
  17. I got 27MPG all City on my last tank G5 SE Sedan, Automatic The Impala's hovering around 26MPG all City, and the Maxx is hovering around 23MPG all city.
  18. Ironically still more manly than their parking enforcement circus cars.
  19. It's hard to picture "Catalina" and "Enforcer" in the same sentence.
  20. You'd be right about 07... Go for OO and never look back! You can even save "word docs" as PDFs!
  21. By the By... Hows the Olds and the Bicentennial Buick?
  22. My Dad did 25years with the RCMP and is now a Private Investigator, he always attested that the midnight blue cars with white doors were more distinctive. I tend to agree.
  23. I'd like to see what happened to our old Dustbuster Van... Check your PM
  24. My ringtone is just the standard Motorola "Chirp-Chirp", I don't like fancy or potentially embarrassing ringtones.
  25. at the end of a tough day, I collapse into my overstuffed fabric chair, enjoy a much needed Earl Grey, and read biographies and historical accounts... + + = WIN
