  1. The DEF fill ccap is on the lower portion of the RH fender, you can see the little blue ccap.
  2. It is outlandish without going as far as the crappy CH-R (or C-HR, whichever). Could be cool if it looks like that. The current platypus front end is offputting to me. At least the rendering incorporates a modicum of testosterone in its chemical makeup.
  3. Oldsmobile tried this just before they keeled over for the last time. Lamebrains at GM management, trying to save 50c per unit.
  4. Which begs the question: are they cunning linguists?
  5. But it must be powered by an ICE or else it will be a toy, just like all the rest of the EVs.
  6. Yes, those fins on that...car... do cause severe blind spots. I'm actually typing this by memory of the keyboard. Please let me know if I hit the wong key.
  7. I had my hair like that, until an unfortunate accident at work involving a serpentine belt ripped my dreams right out of my head.
  8. SMK's gonna be mad. You didn't blur his license plate.
  9. dfelt, maybe you can get yourself a Bolt Incomplete and put the front seat where the rear seat would normally go. Voila, problem solved... except for that pesky white dash trim. Oh yeah, I forgot that was a total dealbreaker. Nvrmnd.
  10. Nice rig. I see there will be more than one transmission available. Has it been mentioned if there will be a manual transmission in the mix? I am surprised at how luxurious the interior is on this truck... maybe there is a more plebian, workmanlike interior available, but not shown on these debutants.
  11. A terrible decision. And it is laughable at best that the stupid I.D. Buzz will take the place of anything beloved at Volkswagen. I guarantee you it will sell even less than the Beetle currently musters. The drop in Beetle sales is mostly VW's fault, as they've stripped the car of interesting powertrains... automatic only... no TDi... high-powered turbos are by order only, last time I checked. Dune... no manual in the Dune? Preposterous and self-defeating. VW people love manual transmissions. VW better save their money because this wholesale push toward electrification is going to fall flat as a pancake. Even flatter than the classic Beetle's pancake 4. No one has proved to me that people will buy electric vehicles in any kind of sustainable numbers without taxpayer prop-ups.
  12. I think I'll get one to drive on wknds since I can't find a decent K5 Blazer.
  13. Oh trust me, in a couple of years the whole internet will point to cladding as the reason for the demise of Porsche. It will be a "hindsight" situation. Nevermind the elephant.
  14. Let me get this straight: you calling SMK a fat lady?
  15. Mine was a 2013, not a 1951. Big size difference. And yes, VW people understand the appeal, it is in the driving feel. So if you take that, and VW distinctiveness out of the equation... you have zero. Zilch. Nada. If this is the future you want, be prepared.
  16. I can tell you with 100% certainty that my "bug" was not without a soul. The Beetle shape is iconic and is one , if not THE most recognized automotive shape in the world, it reeks of distinctiveness. And I went camping in it more than once with back seat folded, it carried my tent, sleeping bag, cooler, folding chair, etc. etc. If this blob had no badges, NO ONE would know what it is, and fewer people would care.
  17. Very generic looking, soulless and flat-out frightening with NO PASSENGER CONTROL. No steering wheel or throttle? You've got to be KIDDING ME. Volkswagen, during my ownership experience, has been world renown for the driving experience. Here we lose 100% of that cache. No way in hell!
  18. Is that a Chevy/GMC van with a 4WD conversion? It's gotta be a van but I can't tell the make from here... guessing by the license plate cut-out on the front bumple.
  19. Volvos are just like every other European car... a money pit after warranty runs out. Why they're leased so often.
  20. Was it a short walk?
  21. Still and always nope
