I actually like the latest tweaks on the Outlander Sport... TOO BAD it's saddled with a CVT.

Sooo... the assimilation is complete. Welcome to the TDi club!

The "global GM sedan" style is the only thing I am not hot on with this car... it was a let-down as a Pontiac, which was a company known for a signature set of styling cues, and now as a Chevrolet, all they really did was graft on Malibu taillights to denote its brand here in the States. The Pontiac, and this Chevy, could have been so much more to look at. The Charger is more authentic in that way. But I am still glad it's here, even if I think that GM did not really put their heart in it.

The Power Wagon is a good choice. The only wagon I can think of is the CTS-V, and I didn't really care for it, style-wise.

Long awaited, bittersweet, beautiful package. Love the expanded color palette, too. Why should Aussies have all the cool colors?

I guess it's on the verge of it. Before I bought my current car, I drove a Crosstrek, and I found it to ride too hard, plus I felt like the manual trans needed another gear, it felt like it was wound too tight to me. You can get the 2.4L Tigershark in the 500X, IIRC.

No, it will be for sale or trade. Nothing at all wrong with it.

Thanks for the info! I finally got to drive a new Colorado today, a brown crewcab shortbed Z71 4X4. It is so far and away better than any GM compact truck before it, at least as a new truck. I absolutely loved it. So now I am sending out "my" truck to a few local dealers for bidding. First dealer I reached out to already sent me a bid of $31,682, v. an MSRP of $32,311 (wheel liners are a dealer-installed item, requiring a labor charge.) I think I can do better.

HA, I didn't realize this even posted, I got that old "YOU cannot post this extension in this community" some such or other stuff, I don't even know. From what I understand, credit unions have some advantages over banks. Perhaps it is time to look into one. Not sure which would be more advantageous, paying off the car and ordering the truck, or just giving a huge down payment when the truck comes, as stated in the link posted.

LA Auto Show: Mazda CX-3 Crossover: Comments

I actually like the 500X too, saw a gallery somewhere. It crosses over from being cute to being purposeful in an Old European kind of way for me. Still scared though. -
LA Auto Show: Mazda CX-3 Crossover: Comments

After looking again, it seems the hamster push-and-turn wheel is only for AV control. HVAC is traditional dials, which is good. -
I never liked the crossover Explorer much. The front end was just weird, and driving behind one always reminded me of a fat-ass Pacifica SUV/van hybrid monstrosity situation. The squared-up new style improves it, imo. I was shocked to read that this thing outsells the Traverse, which I find better looking inside and out in newer guise.

LA Auto Show: Mazda CX-3 Crossover: Comments
ocnblu replied to William Maley's topic in LA Auto Show
The CX-3 is a handsome little beast. I like the floating roof treatment, although it makes me think "MINI coupe". The clean, horizontal dash on this and other Mazdas is a really refreshing change from most everyone else's vertical center stack motif, although I am not a fan of mouse wheel controllers for too many functions. And I wish Mazda would go ahead and show a new vehicle in a color OTHER than metallic red. Overall, a sweet looking little package. A miniature crossover is high on my radar screen if my pickup dreams do not materialize. I love the idea of the Renegade, and the Trailhawk version is cool, but I am scared of Fiat influence. The HR-V is a good looking, amazingly capacious little runner with a true torque-less Honda engine (115 ft/lbs?). The Trax has a tried-and-true vibe, with the nice 1.4t motor, and bulldog puppy looks, but I am not sure about the interior niceness and exterior color selection. Where is Ford with the EcoSport? Back to the CX-3... if they offer it in interesting colors other than RED, and if the controller wheel is not too time consuming to use (we have two choices, either a clean dash appearance and the wheel, or a busier dash with dedicated buttons), and if the lighter interior color suits me, and if the price is not too high... maybe just maybe. They will be at my fingertips, since my work location is our Mazda/Hyundai store. -

I do love it, holy crap yes. The color, the stance, the hood, the baby Duramax, the smallest body configuration, everything is right about it.- 4 replies
