  1. Cannot believe the mouth-breather comments over there attached to this teaser.
  2. I am hoping it is along the lines of the ZR2. But if it comes to production, I know for certain it will be way out of my price range, unlike the '98 ZR2 I bought new.
  3. You heard it here first, folks, the Monte Carlo is coming back to NASCAR! DIGGITY!
  4. I want it to ask me to marry it. What a STUD.
  5. That's very good mileage, shiny coke cans across town be damned. There have been a couple of tests of the 2.7L Ecoboost in the new Ford... 16.5, 16.7 MPG in real world. Question... what did they accomplish? GM trucks are, as ever, overall the best.
  6. You think that's rare, have you ever seen a '70 1/2 Falcon? It's a stripped Torino.
  7. Was behind a new Mustang GT yesterday... I was flabbergasted at how LOW and w i d e it is. Super!
  8. Gorgeous truck! Dealer where I bought my '07 Sierra has a base with upgrade package shortbed, reg cab V6 4X4 stickering at $33k+, mirror tag sale priced at $29.2k, in that Iridium color. But I cannot do it right now. Moral of the story... buy it, Drew! You'll never get a deal this good again.
  9. That is a major problem with today's industry. Too few bodystyles per model. Imagine this, just with the Chevy line: Spark 3-door Spark 5-door Sonic 3-door Sonic 4-door Sonic 5-door Cruze coupe Cruze 5-door hatch Cruze sedan Cruze wagon Malibu coupe Malibu sedan Impala coupe Impala convertible Impala sedan Impala wagon The Camaro and Corvette are properly represented, imo.
  10. This. Changes. Everything. Wow, so beautiful! So new!
  11. Wrangler competitor sounds great, if it is in the Wrangler vein... simple and tough. On the other side of the coin, I'd also love to see a Granite CUV and tiny pickup.
  12. I would be willing to own a 2015 Cherokee Latitude in Eco Green with the Off-Road suspension and the 3.2L V6. Parked side by side on a dealer's lot. you can see the height difference between base suspension and Off-Road (I am not talking about the Trailhawk, which is cool too, if a bit pricy for moi.) Only I'd have to have the black version of the wheels. I think they'd set a green Cherokee off very nicely.
  13. Yes, I would buy one again. The engine is a gem, IMO. I might go with a 3-door Golf TDi if I were to do it again, being a little bit more conservative in style, maybe with VW accessory wheels. As a commuter car, the VW TDi is impossible to beat. You might miss the Hemi for a while, but not too long, IMO, because the TDi feels torque heavy. Try one out on a test drive and see if you agree! And good luck with the new commute.
  14. I don't see a problem, honestly, with the timing. They were gearing up. Can anyone imagine the shitstorm if the recall had been announced, and no plan was in place ahead of the announcement? I have a feeling this is not an unusual practice for any automaker.
  15. Fill pee tank (mine is pre-pee) Oil change Multi-point inspection Battery check Coolant level check Lubricate hinges and latches Check CV boots Check for oil leaks Reset maintenance display Check lights Check wipers Check exhaust for damage or leaks Rotate tires Replace air filter Replace cabin filter Check and top off fluids (except 4motion components and transmission) Road test Check brake pad thickness Clean sunroof drains (I ain't got one) Replace spark plugs (I ain't got none) Check spare tire DSG trans service (nope) In other words, a whole lot of little stuff for a whole bunch of money. IMO.
  16. Well, I had my third (and last) free 10k mile service performed on Saturday. Everything's still good with the car. It does have stone chips from my highway commute, but otherwise still looks good. 30k miles in 18 months. I asked the service dude about the next scheduled maintenance... it's a big one at 40k miles. $340 (makes me want to get rid of it before I have to spend that kind of money... a GM vehicle usually goes to 100k miles before the first "big one", I think). I filled up the tank also on Saturday. $3.50/gallon. 41.69 MPG, "winter blend" must be in the tanks now. I still want to look into replacing it with a new Colorado. MSRP for the new ones is high though. I swore I'd be getting a Z71 extended cab 4X4, but I choke on the price, so my plan now is a WT model... a base truck! Still $31.5k for what I'd want. Crazy how vehicle prices are these days.
  17. Have a good one sir
  18. Cadillac is going to the customer's home. They are following the customer. That is how sales are rung up. Purists (like myself sometimes) may protest... but at the end of the day, Cadillac needs to be able to sell some vehicles to survive. They cannot afford to be some abstract entity up high on a mountain.
  19. I've been seeing, it seems, so many new Corollas in S trim. Easily the best looking model of the car, to me it shows that Toyota fans are desperate for something with a modicum of coolness to drive. The new Corolla interior is nice, I really like the dash, Toyota's current, slightly retro horizontal theme to their dashes is a nice change from the "center stack" craze that appears on just about every other manufacturer's vehicles. Still vanilla cake underneath, (all day) but with a bit of spicy icing. The Honda is a bit stale at this point. Tacking on some deluxe trim to the old design hasn't really changed much, imo.
  20. Let's stuff this turkey FULL of Autumn Car Spots!
  21. As far as the Renegade, anything with a seven slot grille is hot these days, and Renegade will be the only miniature crossover out with any adherence to the SUV mystique. It's got the look, it's got the famous name.
  22. I like the GLA and CLA, with their retro-feeling noses, round dash vents, and so on.
