  1. ...a Z71 with street tires and no wheel flares, photographed in suburbia with a soccer mom kicking her foot like it's an Escape to open her liftgate while she holds a suitcase... how SAD IS THAT?
  2. Yup, Summer Cruiser. I guess there is no difference in wheel style between 2 and 4WD... not sure how much added ride height comes with 4WD.
  3. Odd, it's an LT with Z71 wheels. Preproduction parts binning, I guess.
  4. If I could afford two, I'd have a work vehicle and a weekend vehicle. Not sure if a beater car with good fuel economy for work, and a new Colorado or Canyon for weekends and inclement weather, or keep the Beetle and buy a beater S-10 or Sonoma 4WD for weekends.
  5. Me too, it's called "Anvil". Thanks for posting, GMTG. I guess wskikevin's sweet spot on the highway is a base model, looks like it has 13" rims.
  6. Sounds like the difference of opinion is as wide as a canyon right now. GMC Canyon is the way to go. Just get in and drive, no fiddling with the problems of a 15-year old car. IMHO.
  7. Chevy trucks win because of longterm quality, something Dodge trucks lack. Although if the Coke can Ford falls flat on its face, I hope it is not too late for GM to hedge their bets toward steel. It takes a huge investment to be able to work on aluminum.
  8. *lets fingers do the walking*
  9. No, I believe it was all those guys sitting at that big table. They were hungry immediately afterward.
  10. Oh, fantastic. I was driving on a back street in Millersville, PA, when I passed an old dude mowing his lawn. The mower threw a rock, shattering my passenger door glass. The fallout put cuts in the door exterior paint, and cut up the interior door trim and the passenger seat track trim. Called "my" VW dealer. $700+ for a door interior trim panel. $150 for a door glass. Did not ask about the seat side trim. Plus paintwork... so I called a claim in to my insurance. Damn my luck. I thought it was ISIS moving in on me for a minute, it was a loud-ass bang.
  11. Grabber Orange small bumper Maverick with all chrome blacked out, sounding healthy on the four-lane highway.
  12. Great spot, wskikevin. It does look a little pathetic in that shot, oh my. Has anyone else seen one, maybe at an auto show?
  13. That's what carmakers do when they are faced with the fact that they build junk. Chevy did it with the Vega, in a late play to save their asses.
  14. You've most likely had a good day, I am sure.
  15. No because I don't like Hyundai. I did buy a Beetle, which is an affordable coupe last time I checked.
  16. I understand the Elantra coupe is not coming back for the 2015 model year. Those of us who support any maker with an affordable coupe are outnumbered.
  17. 2014 Silverado 1500 2WT regular cab 4X4 4.3L V6 Base MSRP $31,760 Destination $1095 G80 locker $395 All-terrain tires $200 Black side steps $600 Tailgate liner $75 Bed mat $140 Total MSRP $34,265. Current rebate is $3000, putting it down to $31,265, if this exact truck could be somehow located.
  18. Reality has bitten the left cheek. I just chatted with a Chevy rep on their site. 2015 Colorado WT 4X4 extended cab $26,885 Destination $875 3.6 V6 $1220 Off-road side steps $745 WT Appearance Package $435 (aluminum 16" wheels, chome beltline moldings, body color handles and power mirrors with body color caps, plus a body-color rear bumper) WT Convenience Package $490 (EZ lift tailgate, keyless entry, theft prevention, cruise control) G80 locking diff $325 Interior Protection Package $250 (all-weather floor mats and a bed mat) MSRP: $31,225. LT version with same options would be $2100 higher, with the LT convenience package costing $1080 (instead of $490 for the WT) included in that price, all other options being equal. The green paint would be $495 on top of all of this. Z71 4X4 would be $34,065 with V6, steps and mat package. Jeez man. EDIT: I just found out that some of these prices could be wrong. The chat person gave me some incorrect information. SO, I will wait for the official "Build & Price" site to come live before panicking.
  19. Body color door handles, mirror caps and bodyside moldings on LT... the way it should have been from the get-go. The black stuff on the 2014 was very downscale.
  20. Hmmm... Rally Edition 1... and they've caved to public pressure and brought back the LS trim name.
  21. 60% woot
  22. Have a good one sir, in your stately car.
  23. "going on 12"? I would say he was going on 4, 4 1/2. A 12 is hard to come by.
  24. Cool man! That's the looooong baby, crewcab longbed. I like the Chevy better than the GMC, at least in photos. Won't be too many more weeks and they'll be on the lots.
  25. I was just reading about Edmunds' and Consumer Reports' long term Tesla Model S experiences, neither of which were very positive. Would you like a link? I want to see this new Volt, I will give it a fair shot. I've always said it was the least compromised of all electrified vehicles on the market. High praise, indeed!
