  1. Based on the "leaked" photo, my fears are largely allayed. That is a good looking, very clear heir, with some welcome athleticism and dynamism thrown in... another piece of evidence that at least some parts of GM's design house understand what made GM cars great in the past. Love me a coke bottle GM car! Makes the Cruze look positively alien and alone, time for a serious facelift already.
  2. Well I'll be a monkey's uncle! Congrats, Mr. Dart.

  4. Me too, always liked these. Easily the best OEM motorhome. Much nicer than those old Dodge ones (were they OEM for sure?)
  5. deterrent
  6. Fascinating stuff, balthy, even if the photos appear to be a bit out of order. Please post your Pontiac pictures, too!
  7. AKA "purple"
  8. Medium blue '78 Caprice sedan in very nice condition, with antique tags. And to think, I remember when these were new and different.
  9. Well then, case closed. Beyong ugly is the ugliest ugly there is.
  10. I should clarify, everyone else who's said something has been complimentary. I think she's jealous.
  11. My mother got on my nerves when she said my car reminds her of a bicycle helmet. She drives a Cube. I thought of it too late, but I should have shot back "yeah, and there's the box it came in!" *points at green Nissan* Please share any untoward comments you've heard about your ride.
  12. Programmable lane-change signal. One, two or three flashes with one flick of the lever... I have it set on three. And if I shut the car off with the wipers in the intermittent position, when I restart it, the rear wiper sweeps once without it being turned on... a nice, thoughtful touch.

    Zoom?

Well, you may not believe me, but I was a tad bit suspicious when you posted the selling price for the Z. It seemed too low... and I was going to ask if you'd done a title search to see if it was a reconstructed (repaired total loss) vehicle. But you've already had enough rain on this parade. One reason why used cars scare me. Carfax is not a true friend.
  14. Not only is Bootie gonna be mad, but ocn is mad, too. That's no way to treat a '73 Laguna. It's hard enough to find one with an intact Endura nose... sooo stoopit.
  15. Rj, if you are repulsed by a woody, perhaps you have a deeper problem. Tell us about your childhood.
  16. The Cadillac brand should not be compromised to fit the European market. It should and must remain an American brand, and all that entails. If Europeans want to buy a Cadillac, let them, but the brand must not bend like a willow in an effort to fit in. That will, and has been so far, Cadillac's ruination in Europe. European brands don't compromise for us and they do well enough here. For Cadillac, chasing sales is poison. It is anathema to exclusivity, which Cadillac should aspire to above all else. And that goes for any market the Cadillac brand is sold in.
  17. '76 Cutlass Supreme coupe in beautiful condition, in factory metallic orange with tan landau top, tan metallic to match the top color down the middle of the hood and decklid (not really a stripe, it ran the width of the lower center section of the hood). Donked, riding on giant chrome rims, raised ride height, rap music blurring all 3 mirror glasses on the car. The donking had better be reversible...
  18. They have hard points to adhere to, maybe they're having trouble conveying a genuine Mopar look off the Italian hard points. This sounds like trouble. Chrysler certainly does not need another failed European marriage at this late stage in the game.
  19. That's one heck of a nice looking vehicle.
  20. Now you have me itching to take a lengthy highway trip, just to see.
  21. Why is that? It's the only real link to the much-loved Cherokee, size and price-wise in the lineup. With a Pentastar V6 and optional diesel, it would be much-improved.
  22. Yeah Camino, I thought it was badass as well... it reminds me of a PT Cruiser, a '64 Country Squire, a late-model GM B-body wagon and one of those Lark wagons with the sliding rear roof panel... all in one vehicle, plus it has a smallblock and AWD, what's not to love?
  23. Well I can see that in your sig...
  24. Parking brakes have atrophied since the invention of the automatic transmission with "PARK" position. I always find it quaint when an older person sets their parking brake. When I go to move it to put it in line for repairs and I put it in gear and the "brake" light is on in the dash, I chuckle to myself. I couldn't live without it with my manual transmission, though. I leave the car in gear (first if nose-up, reverse if nose-down, opposite of its roll-away angle) and set the brake when I park. It's also good for jumping out quick if I want to leave the car run, like opening the gate at the campground on the way in.
  25. Oh man... check out this fantastic beach cruiser wagon! UN BE LEE VUH BUL...
