A couple others I love...Lotus Esprit, late 80s Ferrari GTO, and the 80s Ferrari Testarossa. I like the new NSX, saw a red one last week..built here in Ohio..

Cabin width of the current model is probably very similar to the Grand Cherokee or Durango..which I find comfortable and wide enough. Unless you are morbidly obese or built like an NFL linebacker, they are plenty wide enough. I suspect MB customers aren't complaining about the width. And since they sell the GLE and GLS in Europe and other places w/ tight parking and narrow roads, they can't build them as wide as the American truck-based SUVs...

Not really..it was a rental van from U-Haul...it was loud and rough riding, engine made a strange clicking sound...but decent acceleration...now I feel broken and exhausted from shlepping boxes (and nightmare flashbacks to my move of earlier this year). First time I'd driven a van in many years.

The Express/Savana seems even wider inside than the Escalade and it's siblings. Got to drive a Savana today..so strange to encounter a column shift and no center console in a contemporary vehicle...

The clock spring in my old GC was going bad.. noticed it especially on left turns...the air bag light would come on intermittently also and make a chime.

Some cars can pull off the short nose, long deck, low roof look well, some can't...my favorite mid engined sports cars just based on styling are the Lamborghini Miura, 60s and 00's Ford GT, DeTomaso Mangusta and Pantera, Ferrari 308, the original NSX... so many of the current mid engined supercars look like angry Transformer/Gundam cartoon vehicles IMO...

Yeah, the idea of a mid engine Corvette goes back a long way...to the 60s w/ some concepts. It will be interesting to see if the mid engined C8 actually happens or not. The Astro I of '67 and Astro 2 of '68 weren't explicitly called Corvettes from what I've read...I really like the Astro 2 (blue one).. I like the Aerovette concept from the '70s and the Indy from the mid 80s also.

Yeah, I couldn't do central or western Ohio...too flat and Midwestern... the NE corner of the state has more in common w/ PA and Western NY both in terrain and architecture...and the south east part of the state is very hilly and Appalachian...some of my absolute favorite winding, twisty back roads are within 2-3 hours south/south east of here....
-
My street is flat, but the area south of Cleveland is fairly hilly (my suburb is named Seven Hills)..lots of hills in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park 10 min away...
-
I know you like them, I like them also..I esp. like the older regular cab short beds w/ the old school step side beds. But in today's market, it seems anything that isn't a 4dr isn't selling well... (If I ever had an old truck as a hobby vehicle, I'd want an '80s Chevy or GMC short bed step side...always liked the look).

Could be...lots of variability in parts of the state...and up here, the lake effect snow off of Lake Erie can vary quite a bit from the westside (lighter snow) of Cleveland to the eastside (heavier usually)...I'm in the southwestern suburbs about 15 miles from the lake..

Before I replaced them, the right rear tire on my GC picked up a large screw...after a couple months, I noticed it started losing air..

The LWB Escalade and other Suburban-sized SUVs are pretty much a US novelty...since MB competes in world markets, I can't imagine the need for them to compete in that niche. Though I suspect the rumored NG GLS-based Maybach SUV will be offered in a longer wheelbase version than the GLS..

Interesting... Interesting...I've never traded a car w/ a loan still active, I've always paid off a vehicle first then later traded. Sounds like it's a common use case, though.

Nissan probably wisely chose not to offer a regular cab/short bed combo, it would have sold maybe a few dozen units annually, at most? No demand anymore for such a body style...I think Ford and GM offer such a combination, but I can't recall the last time I saw one...

TPMS do seem to have some fluctuation. Mine seem to be uniformly at 39lbs, but sometimes one or two tires are a pound or two higher or lower. When the new tires were first installed, the left front read 75lbs. Had to let some air out.

It is pretty funny...who knows, this could have been scripted to get publicity.

It's like lighting a fart on fire.. heh-heh-heh.. maybe the Corvette team was inspired by Gundam and Transformers for styling, and Beavis and Butthead for some of the details...;)- 57 replies

Kind of a 3 row midsize is how I think of the Durango and GLS...(and the GC and GLE being the 2 row midsizers on the shared architecture). The GM and Ford BOF full size SUVs just seem considerably larger, whether they are or not in all measurements..probably more perception more than reality..
