Buick News: Buick To Play A Key Role In GM's Electrification Plans

I'll be 50 in less than 3 years...I've been feeling my age the last few months, after decades living without stairs, having a split level is giving my knees and ankles a work out, along w/ the cross country move experience. Working from home has it's advantages and disadvantages.. trying to take more walks and walk the dogs to get some exercise, along w/ weekly deep tissue massages, chiro visits, etc. -
Quote of Trump in Japan: "Try building your cars in the United States instead of shipping them over. Is that possible to ask? That's not rude. Is that rude? I don't think so," Trump told executives from local automakers during a trip to Japan. I guess he in unaware of the Japanese plants in the US built over the last 35 years...

So the newness has worn off the Compass, and you are ready to move on to the next fling?

I wonder if the future is going to be a mix of Blade Runner (robots built to do the crappy work, no flying cars though), The Terminator (computers taking over and killing humans), and post-apocalyptic stuff like The Road....but seriously, being in software, I see how buggy and insecure software systems are on a daily basis, I certainly would't trust them to control the complete driving of cars, heavy trucks, etc any time soon... I recently read After On, a fun read about Silicon Valley startup companies, social networking, AI and terrorism...

Yeah, my Jeep is metallic black..I'd rather have had dark red, dark blue, or brown, but since I was shopping 3yr old CPO models, color choice wasn't a top criteria...main criteria for me was a well-equipped GC with under 30k miles, 4x4, sunroof, light interior color. I do like black, though, and love the black and tan interior. If I were buying a new one, I'd really want a brown one.

Love that color. Haven't seen one in person yet, only pics. So retro.

Saw Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie in concert last night. Fun show. Small venue, great sound, great music--mix of Fleetwood Mac, solo and their new material. Both sounded great, backing band was tight. LB is a great guitarist and songwriter, listened to a lot of FM and LB today. Love the guitar solo on this track.

That yellow coupe concept pic looks like one of the coupe concepts from Chevy from about 5 years ago... there were two, and they had random alphanumeric names...

An electric coupe would be cool, but sadly it seems the 2dr coupe market is dead.

Yes..the Amish need to just STFU and stay in 1899 w/ their horses and buggies rather than commenting on modern companies.

Nothing but a TexAss snake oil salesman...peddling flashy crap that goes fast but has no significance.

I can't imagine M-B is concerned about vaporware from a financially shaky Texas tuner...

The Restomod and Pro-Tour Dream Car Garage Thread
Robert Hall replied to oldshurst442's topic in The Lounge
That was it. I recall something about it being driven through LA area canyons. I found a reference to it in passing in an article about the famous Mrs Orcutt's driveway.. https://www.caranddriver.com/features/mrs-orcutts-driveway " A Cadillac Seville, hiding a tube-frame stock-car chassis and a twin-turbo Chevy 454 V-8, lost a chrome bumper at over 100." Googling turned up this post on a forum, scroll down a bit and there are a couple pics of the car, incl. the aircraft landing light...what a beast. '1FASTMF' as it had on it's license plate.. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/off-topic-discussions/323773-what-happened-mulholland-king-hill-rsr-148.html Found a color pic on another site.. Check out the flares and Hellas... -

Yes, would be a great sleeper. IIRC the 1st gen Seville had an Olds 350. Speaking of modded Sevilles, I recall reading an article in Car & Driver about one that someone modded, had a turbo BBC or something similar, race car suspension, roll cage, huge fender flares...the article must have been 30-35 years ago. -

It's mostly in regards to the styling. Not the hardware. I like the looks of the 3000GT, reminds me of the 4th gen Firebird, but nicer. -

A Halloween Surprise: Jeep Shows Off 2018 Wrangler: Comments
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in Jeep
Well, the current model in it's base form does include a V6, 4 wheel drive, a 6 spd manual, 16 inch wheels, a soft top, removable doors, etc all standard, in a 2dr convertible bodystyle. Nothing else on the market offers that feature mix for $24k. Every other CUV/SUV at $24k is probably a FWD 4dr, 4cyl automatic or CVT appliance.. $16k in today's market only buys tiny FWD despair mobiles.. So in it's base form, the Wrangler is pretty well equipped..of course, there is a huge range of trim levels and options to push the price much higher. -

Looks good. Very subtle evolutionary styling changes. Interior looks much improved. It will sell well, I think. -
