Well, since the other Wranglers have a choice of soft top or removable hardtop, this was no surprise...

Ya.. I have plenty of stuff...I get stuff when I need it or want it, not in response to advertising. Did all my holiday shopping over the weekend...at a couple wineries, on eBay and on Amazon. No waiting in lines or other nonsense.
-
Black Friday, Cyber Monday, all bullshit marketing nonsense to get people to buy crap they don't need.

Had great weather on the North Coast for late November. Visited a few wineries and did a bit of holiday shopping at them, saw some lighthouses, walked on beaches...great scenery and roads..Jeep drove great.

I don't the XT5 is much bigger..it's wheelbase is a couple inches longer than the SRX was IIRC...they need a larger Caddy CUV on the Traverse/Enclave wheelbase, I think..XT7?

Had a nice turkey day yesterday, didn't overeat. Good food, hung out w/ my siblings, chilled out and watched a few football games... nice sunny morning, think I'll take a drive along the North Coast today and see some beaches and lighthouses.

Tesla Has Been Burning Through $8,000 Per Minute

And considering Musk has 2-3 other companies to run, Tesla isn't getting 100% of his focus.- 24 replies

Obviously, the sale price on a car doesn't include taxes, fees, extras...everyone knows that. (in the US)

Taxes are paid at the dealer, they get sent to the state, but sales tax is collected at the dealer..at least they were in Arizona.

Yeah, great city..I need to go back out there..haven't been out since 2010...have friends in Portland and Beaverton and been to a few conferences there. Love the beer, been to a number of the McMinimins owned places...I remember especially liking the Blue Moon Tavern & Grill.- 34 replies

I've done that before..one of the things I love about the ground clearance of 4x4s. I don't believe in parallel parking, but I can do it. The worst time I had parallel parking was in Dec '04 in downtown Portland on Couch Street (which is inexplicably pronounced 'cooch') when I went to Powell's Bookstore...it was raining, and I was in an '04 Grand Prix rental..too low to go up on the curb, and hard to see out of..- 34 replies

Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in LA Auto Show
Parallel parking was one of those things I remember having to practice for the driving test, but that I never do...I think I've only parallel parked maybe a dozen times in 30 years of driving. I can do it if I have to, but I don't believe in it. I always either park in a lot, a garage, or valet.- 34 replies

Random CUV observation--the new CR-V has cool taillights..been behind 3 of them at night over the last week...the horizontal elements remind me of recent BMWs, but then the turn signals (amber) and brake lights (red) are vertical elements shooting upward out of the horizontal part....

Enjoying the late fall weather...54 and sunny today, breezy...leaves blowing around. Had a bit of wintry flurry mix Sunday, so I know winter is coming..but Thanksgiving should be nice.

Good point about the Regal TourX....I was only thinking CUVs since the thread was about CUVs, but the Regal TourX looks quite tasty. But knowing myself, I'd go for another Grand Cherokee..;)

Hmm...as far as tow trucks, I'm more used to seeing International rollbacks than Fords....and unfortunately, got to ride in them more than once over the last decade..

Yep, AMC was created by the merger of Nash and Hudson. As far as Dodge compacts, it's too bad Dodge wasn't able to see success w/ the Dart..not sure what the issue there was.. -

Yes, me too...in pictures. Have yet to see it in person. The roofline does look straight off the previous Optima... my Charger reference isn't because of the styling, but the name and the concept--a mainstream brand largish RWD sports sedan..the Charger is really the only other one out there... I think it's great that Kia, Hyundai and Genesis are aspiring to make world class sports sedans and luxury cars..more competition is a good thing... -
To me, is interesting how quiet 4 cyl cars have become, though...I remember how lumpy and buzzy 4 cyl cars were when I owned them (80s Fords)... the recent 4cyl rentals (Passat, Fusion, Altima, Sonata, Malibu-2 different generations) I've driven have been almost uniformly smooth and quiet as far as engine noise.. the biggest noise annoyances are tire noise and the HVAC fan noise...
