Tesla Model 3 Production Has Some 'Bottlenecks'
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in Tesla
I mostly listen to a few SiriusXM stations or my USB stick w 10k tracks. I also have AM/FM, CD and phone as options. But since I work from home, I'm driving very little currently. But I do like having a lot of choices.- 176 replies

I do wonder where they will go.. the lighting arrangement on the current model is so odd...big round lights like the Wrangler or Patriot could work also.

The headlights and silly C-pillar design just seem derivative of other marques...the floating roof look is getting dated and boring..such a 2015 Nissan or Lexus styling cue.

I've read an MCE is coming for '19 for the Cherokee. Supposedly they are normalizing the front.

Ya, I've seen those around Ohio's Amish country...

I can't imagine the ICE to EV transition will happen overnight...will be a long, slow process over many years...followed by the driver-owned to autonomous transition in the future...of course, none of this may come to pass, may have more of a post-apocalyptic 'Mad Max' style reality instead...

I'd expect Ocn to go Amish with a horse and buggy before an EV...

Does anyone really notice those screws, though? Seems like the G-wagon sells itself.. isn't an all-new one due soon, IIRC?- 28 replies

Car makers don't want to be left behind...wouldn't be good business if GM waited until 2030 to have a lot of electrics and be perceived as foot dragging.

Industry News: Welcome to the Era of Expensive, Luxury Trucks
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in Industry News
Never had a vehicle with a HUD, but I can see the utility. I have the center info panel between the gauges configured in my Jeep and use it often (things like tire pressure, gas mileage, oil life, compass direction (the most important to me), trip odometer, etc) , but you still have to look down a bit to see it...- 55 replies

Agreed..I've hated working in open office environments. The most recent one I had was a few years when I was at a small consulting firm, when not a client site and in the office, I'd be working in a large room with 6-10 other consultants--some of us doing work for the same client, some not...with all sorts of conference calls, conversations, noise from the 3d printer, etc. going on around... My current gig in Scottsdale was in a quiet cube environment with a team distributed across several countries and time zones, and now working remotely from home since June even quieter....with the 3 hr time difference, I've got several productive hours in the morning before my first daily conference call.

Saw an unusual sight when I went out for lunch today...in traffic saw a very clean beige w/ beige top '79-81 Chrysler New Yorker..haven't seen an R-body in ages...

No nonstop flight from CLE... I want to go some June and explore the city, go the Canadian Grand Prix, and go to Berthiersville to visit the Musee Gilles Villeneuve.

Hyundai News:Hyundai Spills the Beans on 2018 Accent for U.S.

If people actually were buying subcompact hatchbacks in the US, maybe they would continue building them....seems like the sales of such have dropped off a cliff...or is it a chicken and egg problem? -

it's a cool looking cute-ute, IMO... like the profile and interior. -

Following on to comments about Jeeps,...so far, I've had a good 5 months and almost 6000 miles with my CPO '14 JGC. A few electrical glitches--overly sensitive alarm with weirdness (the alarm will go off if you lock the doors with the buttons while inside w/ the engine off), remote fob weirdness (battery died on one, the other sometimes unlocks the doors when I pull the outside handle w/ it in my pocket, sometimes it doesn't), had to reset the button for my garage door a couple times, phone doesn't always connect w/ Bluetooth, etc. But all in all, pretty happy.

Feeling like fall here today...was out walking the dogs at 7am, 40 degrees out, trees turning, leaves falling. Saw a very clean dark maroon with matching padded top early '80s Caddy Sedan de Ville go wafting down the street, couple appeared to be in their 70s..must be their Sunday car, haven't seen around during the week.

A lot of people have Porsches as 2nd or 3rd cars, so they tend to keep the miles down. One anecdote that's the opposite I know of--a buddy in Colorado bought an '08 Boxster S new, has put about 120k miles on it as his daily driver.

Hyundai is the new Toyota in many ways, esp. since Toyota has gone to full-on weird with their styling.
