  1. Neither... if I were shopping GM, I'd rather have an Enclave.
  2. I'm sure the Ford Man Step works well..I can see how it would be useful in loading boxes, furniture, etc in and out of a pickup bed.....back around 2011-12, I rented an F150 from uHaul to haul some furniture to the storage unit, and the damn thing was so high off the ground I had to position a stepladder behind the open tailgate to walk stuff up and into the bed and vice versa...it's absurd how high even 2wd pickup beds are today.
  3. I'm just glad to be out of the fuckin' fecal desert and in a cold climate for Thanksgiving and Christmas again. My Jeep is ready for winter--new tires, floor mats, shovel, ice scraper. And since I'm working from home 100%, I can be selective about when I go out..
  4. First snow of the season...just light flurries, but starting to stick...after heavy rain yesterday and last night.
  5. They need to do a Prius crossover..
  6. Sound deadening, I think mainly..and it does make the engine compartment look more tidy. The reality is today few owners ever open their hoods..it's something done at the dealer or other service shop when changing oil, etc. So it's out of sight, out of mind. I think I've only had the hood open 3 times on my Jeep in the 7+ months I've had it.
  7. Some of today's pickups sit so high they should offer steps like these..
  8. Yes..it's too bad they didn't bring back that starter sound for the Challenger and Charger...would be a cool retro touch.
  9. Elon M is very ambitious and driven, no doubt...will be interesting to see how they are able to execute on these ideas.
  10. Lots of interesting things going on here..the Roadster is not really a 'roadster', more of a Targa....mix of old Eclipse and C7 styling cues, IMO..
  11. I'm sure if this goes into production, there will be an explanation. It's a product differentiating feature.
  12. LoL... I carried one bag of potting soil and a bag of grass seed in my Jeep a while back.
  13. I could see that especially useful on modern full size trucks where the bed floor seems to be 36-40 inches off the ground. Absurdly high liftover..
  14. I think the Highlander and RX have always been platform siblings since the beginning.
  15. My yard service mows once a week. I was able to get by with getting it mowed every two weeks in Phoenix, grew slower. Except those guys took an hour to do a smaller lot. Here the guys have bigger mowers and do the front and the back in 15 min.
  16. A buddy of mine in Denver used to have an XJ--like a 2000 or so--in US Forest Service green..neat color.
  17. The specific scenario IIRC was a friend w/ a Suburban and a travel trailer..said a tailgate would hit the propane tanks on the hitch tongue while barn doors would clear the tanks...(esp. if the Suburban was at an angle to the trailer). I'm sure there are other reasons for preferences..that's the only one I've heard. Rearward visibility w/ a Suburban was better w/ a tailgate than barn doors.
  18. If the do an X8 coupe, I wonder if M-B will respond w/ a coupe version of the GLS? I'd like to see others get in the game...imagine a sleek Escalade fastback..
  19. Clearance issues when towing a trailer is what I've heard as far as preference for barn doors vs. tailgate.
  20. Too bad the GC isn't available in that color.
  21. As part of my investment portfolio, I do have some auto stocks...Ford, GM, FCA, Daimler, Tesla...
  22. They need to lengthen the wheelbase. The current RX only has a 109.x inch wheelbase, the GX 112.9...both are too short for a 3 row, needs more like 118-120 for proper legroom for the 2nd and 3rd rows. Oddly, the Highlander has a 109.x wheelbase and 3 rows, wonder how the legroom for the 3rd row is..I read the 2nd row is adjustable...so this RX 3 row sounds like it will be a reskinned Highlander.
